I know ppl usually say it doesnt matter cuz you can switch between jobs, and fair enough. However, for someone's first time playing, it should matter. My first time, i went with Arcanist and dropped everything when i started to play the Rogue into Ninja. Of course, i went back and leveled up the other jobs, but to me it mattered that i started went with Rogue/Ninja cause I had fun, which should be the point of a first timer... Choose a job/role that you can see yourself having fun with. I think players should try to main 1 job per role. That way you're more well-rounded, versed, and could probably avoid arguments.
As someone who alts Reaper I can tell you it’s a really fun job to play but it’s easy to lose control of it at times in the sense where half the time you’ll be so engrossed in slashing up the boss that you’ll sometimes forget wait…was that supposed to be a flank or rear technique?
For MCH the queen is level 80 so you may not have encountered it yet, just the rook turret before that. I main MCH, its a great job, definitely give it a go :) youll want to be familiar with weaving GCD and OGCDs, MCH needs it. (second highest APM of all)
@@Jrocks26 the skills we get in Dawntrail are just fistfuls of 'merica. (Skill is full metal field). It's also a very potent job in solo or side content like palace of the dead, FATEs, farming, among other things. Hope you like it!
@@Jrocks26 OH one other thing on MCH, it starts at level 30 (no prereq job) and it FEELS SO SLOW to start. just keep at it. At 58 you get Drill and the world changes. :)
Astro cards have changed as of DT, instead of random, its divided into two stacks, three cards and the lord of swords and the other three and lady of cups. You start with the first three always and each card does its own thing. One buffs dps (first set buffs melee/tanks), one grants a shield and the third increases the power of heals on them. The lord is an aoe damage insta cast. The second set is damage buff (ranged, magic or healer), a regen and a mit. The lady is a aoe heal. Then it goes back to the first set.
The guide is top tier, but not really needed. The fact that you can play every job in the game on one character this is more of a sample wine tasting. People should sample the classes they want to try out instead of going out and searching for META guides or guides like this. The game does reward the player for specific achievements, be it titles (50,60,70) for all classes, or a mount at level 80. Try one of each out it doesnt hurt and choose a class that speaks to you.
Interesting you say that given the community tends to view it as one of the harder healers and it being more “big brain” then the other healers. I ain’t complaining, I love scholar and have mained it since Endwalker.
@@Author_Gamer Oh, I'm not referring to being a healer in dungeons and raids. That can get pretty tricky, though I'm much better at Scholar than at Sage. I was referring to playing Scholar in solo content. For instance, the fight with Rhitahtyn in the level 49 quest Operation Archon usually puts me through my paces on either DPS or Tank jobs, but SCH just sits there and hammers away at him while dodging his AOEs. On Tank or DPS, I'm lucky if I can end that fight with 10% health, but on SCH, I rarely drop below 85%.
This guide is definitely top tier, not many people talk about it and it's really unfortunate.
For sure, so well done!

Not a bad plan!

Thanks for the insight, I cant wait to play it - definitely on the top side of my list of classes to play!
Reaper is my main melee dps and I have to agree with this lol

Oh, that sounds pretty good actually. Thanks for the explanation!
Oh man i remember when this came out. Its def one of the best guides
Best one we have seen for sure!

Scholar is FFXIV on easy mode
