    G'day Legends,
Для субтитров вы должны нажать на шестеренку в правом нижнем углу и автоматически перевести. Это не будет идеально, но мне сказали, что это близко
For subtitles you should be able to hit the cog on the bottom right and auto translate, It will not be perfect, But I am told it is close
I continue with my podcast series and today we have Ivan who joined the 'SMO' as a Medic when his friends called him.
I am aware this will bring a lot of hate my way, That said, As I have always said I will talk to anyone and are interested in other stories and people, even if controversial,
    thankyou for all your support.

It's not unusual that a journalist gives everyone a voice. Zolkin, a Ukrainian journalist, does this when interviewing Russian POWs too. A bit different but still. I wished you would have asked him if he speaks from first hand experience and not give us typical Russian propaganda.

I agree. But Ivans narrative did seem to have quite a lot of holes, where it all ”depended on your point of view”, like the shelling of Donbas of which there is official and unbaised UN and OSCE observations - pure Russian fake news. And that the Bucha killings where a ”psy-op” from Ukranian Nazis. I think the interviewer did a great job and let Ivan talk and present his POV - even though he could have shredded him to pieces on a few occasions he obstained. Nice gesture.

  • @Iliketobeeducated

This is my first time hearing the other side, and while I do understand the perspective, I find it both strange and unique. The Russian soldier claimed that Ukraine didn’t deserve to be a separate state because Russian blood was shed on those lands. Initially, this struck me as extreme, almost like something a Nazi might say, but it reflects a deep sense of national pride. As a patriot myself, I love my country even though we also have our flaws. I rarely hear people in the U.S. speak positively about our country nowadays, which made this soldier’s pride particularly striking to me.
The way he spoke about Ukraine's outcomes under U.S. influence, referencing words such as “The U.S. conquered Iran and Iraq,” was eye-opening, revealing that he also has stereotypes about us Americans. Setting aside these stereotypes, he appeared proud of his country, his religion, and even his liquor-an all-around decent person. He showed an understanding that we are all human, not invulnerable or heartless. I appreciated his mention of diplomacy, acknowledging that sometimes aggression is necessary but not always the first resort.
This encounter challenged my perception of Russians as sometimes heartless or barbaric, revealing a side that values pride, heritage, and even peaceful resolution when possible. It made me realize that I need to delve deeper into history to understand these perspectives better. It’s eye-opening and encouraging to see that, despite major differences, we can still find some kind of understanding. Great video for real!
Btw I Dont agree with his pov but I understand it. Somewhat!

      hahahah.
cmon friend. if you think this is anything other than english language propaganda that was put together by the KGB and their propaganda department to specifically target the slower and more retarded segments of our population here in the west that suddenly found a soft spot for these backward third world authoritarian communist regimes ever since part of us conservatives seemingly went full-blown retard mode and started praising dictators and parroting anti-american anti-freedom pro-authoritarian talking points because some brain dead steven bannon or whatever third rate internet "news" shows apparently said so, then i don't even know what to tell you. i suspect that you know exactly the kind of shows what i'm talking about. always some pimple-faced nazi youth looking losers doing their little obscure unknown low budget "news" show from their garage and filming love messages for dear vlad and being real careful to use the little kremlin-approved language and jerking themselves off by calling it a special adventure instead of a war and repeating the retarded talking points of whatever low level retired military officer that executives over at russia today managed to pay to come on and do little interviews talk trash about america and the west and go on and on about how great russia is, that way they can target both english-speaking audiences and then add subtitles and play it back alongside the clips of their big superstar tucker carlson to show their brain dead soviet-minded commie grandmas that "see, even the americans are saying what we have been telling you!" on the evening news on russian state-run media.
just tapping into the market of tens of millions gullible and easily-impressed losers that are extremely vulnerable to such third world authoritarian propaganda because they feel insignificant and desperately want to feel special, which pushes them towards always doing and saying and believing the complete opposite of everything that is normal and widely-accepted as being the reality in order to show that they are "not like the other sheep" and that they did the "research" and that they know all of the top secret qonspiracy theories that nobody else knows about. doesn't matter what the topic might be. the earth is round? nope, the earth is actually flat because NASA movie studios and blah blah blah.. there is a chinese cough outbreak going on? nope, nothing is happening whatsoever, big gobment illuminaughty bilderberg reptilian plandemic event 201 schwab great reset blah blah blah.. the united states is the first and only kind benevolent superpower that acts as a force for good in the world and always attempts to do the right thing even when it costs them insane amounts of effort and resources and blood and treasure and goes against its own interests? nope, america and freedom bad, orange man bad, and actually china and russia are the real bastions of freedom that are attempting to spread peace and cooperation and prosperity and democracy and human rights and law and order and separation of powers and government accountability and checks and balances and transparency and individual privacy with their beautiful communist authoritarian ideology that has done so much good for the world.. you shouldn't jump off a cliff? well, actually jumping off a cliff is really good for you and you should definitely jump off a c... wait hold up!
big dummy syndrome. the biggest dummies are convinced that they're the geniuses that know special things that nobody else has figured out. and it's not like they have just been tricked into believing a couple of specific retarded talking points. we're talking full-blown conversions to believing the absolute worst third world authoritarian propaganda and talking trash about our own countries and believing third world kremlin talking points over what is said by our own experts and officials from the institutions that make up the foundation of our countries and that have specifically allowed us to differentiate ourselves from the other third world authoritarian and war-ravaged hellholes on this earth. with all of that propaganda coming not from a bunch of spies or plants receiving directions from kremlin operatives, but instead being made organically and coming from within the homeland from your retarded purple-haired leftist coworker or your dumbass alt-right proud boys MAGA uncle or your brain dead qonspircy theorist neighbor and his wife that spends her days writing crap on some secret facebook page about "MK-ULTRA gang stalking survivors" and morgellon-infused chemtrails and quartz crystal energy or whatever homeopathic insanity.
really some of the most brain dead people on the planet. almost as bad as leftists. or actually, maybe even worse than leftists. because at least leftists just want to make their hair purple and put cow rings in their noses and save the polar bears and wave their stupid little rainbow flags and hold hands and sing kumbaya in their leftist fantasy bubble. they're not trying to dismantle our institutions and destroy our countries from within on behalf of their goddamn dear beloved supreme comrade vladimirovitch and chairman winnie the pooh and get rid of the american-dominated global world order that has given us everything that we have and that has given us eighty years of the most peaceful era in all of human history with the most freedom and the most innovation and the most economic growth and the most prosperity and the highest standards of living that rival those of even kings from a hundred years ago and the most access to western values for as many people as possible on this earth short of risking a nuclear war by straight up invading crapholes like russia, china, north korea, iran, venezuela, cuba, syria, etc. to liberate their poor citizens that have been enslaved and brainwashed for the last hundred years.
these are the same people that talk trash about america whenever a mistake happens or something goes wrong and a civilian is accidentally killed in a drone strike or whatever and "blah blah blah, gazillion dead iraqi civilians to steal the iraqi oil, go home american war criminals!" despite america being the most generous nation on this earth that values human life the most and that has the most insanely restrictive rules of engagement and that will literally spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to drop some fancy laser-guided hellfire missile with no warhead and just kinetic "blades" in order to take out some terrorist leader in a crowded area or take out some 300 dollar old rusty toyota pickup from the 1980s with a couple of worthless goat-humping terrorists in the back in order to avoid civilian casualties, and that will have a goddamn army of lawyers and investigators crawling up the ass of everyone involved in the operation if they hear so much as a whisper of potential collateral damage having occurred even if those reports come from the goddamn jihadists themselves. full-blown hearts and minds and nation-building and guys fighting with their hands tied behind their backs and having to wait for the jihadists that are intentionally dressed as civilians and that are clearly carrying weapons to actually not even just point the weapon at them but actually fire at them before they can respond and fight back. straight up useless united nations peacekeeper type of stuff. meanwhile you have the russians using their apartment-seeking and kindergarten-seeking cruise missiles to specifically target civilian infrastructure and goddamn restaurants and malls and hospitals and everything, and turning entire cities into piles of rubble with mindless indiscriminate artillery and multiple launch rocket systems barrages out of frustration for being incompetent and unable to achieve any of the military objectives, and these same third worlder and brainwashed authoritarian-sympathizing retards out here among us have the nerve to talk trash about how america and western countries fight wars..
some goddamn drunken vladimirovitch claiming that they felt "threatened by NATO expansion" because the poorest most corrupt country on the continent wanted nothing to do with their backward soviet commie bullshit anymore and was trying to start the process of maybe being allowed into europe and NATO in the year 3023 when they finally manage to recover from the communist stagnation and incompetence and ignorance and insane corruption that came from living under the rule of the third world commie soviet empire for nearly a hundred years and bring themselves up to the first world civilized western standards that are needed to be able to join europe and NATO.
it's wild just how clueless people can become, and how they can fall for propaganda that pushes literally the complete and total opposite of what is actually true.

A memorial was opened in Bucha in memory of the killed residents of the city.
According to the mayor of Bucha Anatoly Fedorchuk, the memorial contains 501 commemorative plaques with the names of the dead Bucha residents who were identified.
    Tin..
After all, it's scary how the massacre - the cleansing of those citizens who did not support the Kiev regime by Sbushniks, policemen, Azov people, turned against those who really protected people. After the Istanbul agreements between Russia and Ukraine, Russia withdrew its troops as a gesture of goodwill. In these territories, many people supported Russia, including in Bucha. After the Russians left this place, mass cleansings began in the city by the punishers of the Kyiv regime. They, in order to intimidate and out of revenge, shot people who supported the Russian world.
And now they have arranged a memorial, in honor of the dead citizens whom they themselves killed.

Although there is a lot of things Ivan said that I completely disagree with on a fundamental level, there is a lot of things he said that reminds me of the things my brothers, friends, and I said to rationalize Iraq and Afghanistan. I met a lot of people like Ivan: Russian people who, after the collapse of the USSR, found themselves outside Russia. They suffered greatly economically, the standard of living in the Asian post-Soviet republics collapsed even more than in Russia. In addition, the process of collapse was accompanied by an outbreak of nationalism, and often the Russians were victims of local "patriotic" idiots. For them, returning to Russia was the greatest blessing of their lives and they often have a rather radical imperial outlook. This is their life experience. They were impoverished second-class citizens, returning to Russia restored their self-respect.

As a Russian person born in Donetsk region I left the area to live in Russia in 1999, when the teachers of Russian language were cancelled in Eastern ukraine, in 100% Russian speaking area. It was already clear that there is a policy of surpression of anything that is Russian from historic russian lands that happened to be on the other side of the fence from Russian federation after Soviet union broke up. It is a war against Russia. All Rissias borders are being burnt everywhere possible. Coups are organised everywhere possible, in Ukraine it worked out. Due to US and British elites decision and action Russians are killing Russians. I'm hurt viewing the victims of both sides. They all all our Russian people. min 26.55 Willie. You say a majority of Ukrainians wanted to move to the side of the west. However, a majority of Ukrainians voted for then president Viktor Yanukovych in 2010. Viktor Yanukovych's government was overthrown, with the help of the west, primarily the U.S. state department and the CIA, as well as various US backed NGOs, in 2014. How was that not a provocation to Moscow?? What would anyone's reaction have been, in any country, had the people voted for a president only to see their president toppled by a coup d'etat staged by another power?? It isn't complicated, for anyone who is willing to soberly examine the recent history of Ukraine, to understand and see the origins of this conflict. Putin attempted to find a peaceful resolution to this the following year with the Minsk Accords. These were laughed at by the west, which wanted to make Ukraine a NATO state. Imagine if Moscow had put a Warsaw Pact military base in Montreal or Toronto, or even Mexico City. What do you think the US response would have been? We already know. It's called the "Cuban Missile Crisis". Thank you for providing an alternative perspective on your show. Despite my disagreement with you over the history behind this conflict, I applaud you for the courage it took to provide a different viewpoint. Your one of the few who have done it. Thank you.

I think one day we'll discover just how prepared the Ukrainian Army was since 2014.
We'll learn how deeply involved the UK and US Armed Forces were, because even to someone like me who has no military experience, it's absolutely obvious that the Russian Army walked into a well prepared defence, prepared by trained military personnel using high tech weapons.
The West knew that Russia would absolutely have to protect it's Naval Base in Crimea.
Ukraine had become completely unstable with a rogue, foreign backed Government trying to impose it's will upon the entire nation, so Russia's response was the only logical thing to have done.
I hope the truth comes out.

zelensky didn't believe when cia told them just few days before the war. if senior leadership truly had believed, they could've totally prepare the country for it in those short years. gotten rid of all soviet era inventory and replaced with newest western one and trained whole pop in that.
we finland have had mandatory conscription against russia for 100 years. need a lot of time to slowly mold society and everything. not really much you can do in just a few years.

And I think there are a lot of Russian soldiers who share this views. So, I would like you Willy to invite these sort of people to communicate with u and share their opinions. The question about the Russian justification of the SMO is substantially different from a question about the justification of a full-scale declared war against Ukraine as a whole. The NATO war machine portrays the situation as exclusively the latter, despite being too scared to involve themselves directly against the (only) offender according to them. The issue of the selfdetermination of Ukraine can never exclude the right to selfdetermination of all the Russian areas in Ukraine. The Western propagandists ignore their own self-contradictions, such as ignored for instance in Syria.

People in Donbas that I know, did not invite Wagner or Russian FSB and army to cross the border. We did not give them permission to shoot artillery inviting return fire from Ukraine. We did not ask them to bring a Grad here either, or take over the airport with a busload of hired random men with rifles. Our local police were corrupt, but random paid men with rifles walking around like they own the city and warlords making their own rules but taking orders from their FSB handlers - we did not ask nor give permission nor want that. NOBODY in Donbas wanted Wagner in our city. We could have overthrown whoever the new president was with our own semi-peaceful Maidan if we wanted to. Putin just used Donbas as a launchpad for invasion that would also divert the blame from Moscow.

Now you can't write someone's wrong just by saying someone else would do worse I know that but the fact is Ukraine is an American project or George Soros project and the regime change who was engineered by the CIA and America and the government that was implanted there is a completely antique puppet government every other time a country has this kind of problem in someone Independence America always chooses the rebels phly in this case are they choosing Ukraine instead of the people of the LPR and the DPR? Why don't they care about all the civilians that were getting killed by the ukrainians for the last eight years or so for that matter why didn't they keep their word not to push any further east with NATO why did Germany and France why when the Belarus Minsk Accords were agreed upon and they were never ratified or considered as valid because Ukraine in the Western European countries in America never even planned on following them? What does the flag in the background mean since November 12 , 1472 . The colors of the flag of tsarist Russia meant the following:
    black is a double-headed eagle and a symbol of a great country in the East, state stability, inviolability of historical borders. This stripe on the flag symbolized the meaning of the existence of the Russian people. The black color emphasized the greatness of the state from the Baltic Sea to the Pacific coast;
    golden (yellow) is the banner of Orthodox Byzantium, which was adopted as the state flag by Ivan III Vasilyevich. The middle stripe on the flag symbolizes spirituality, striving for moral purity and firmness of spirit. The golden color also emphasizes the continuity of generations and the salvation of the Orthodox faith;
white (silver) - eternity and purity, as well as the color of St. George. This shade symbolizes great and selfless sacrifice for the sake of the Fatherland - a well-known trait of the Russian character, which has puzzled, delighted and even frightened foreigners for many centuries.
The first 2 colors appeared in Russia in 1472. After marrying the Byzantine princess Sophia Palaiologos, Ivan III, along with the coat of arms of Byzantium captured by the Ottomans, adopted these heraldic symbols. The Byzantine imperial banner was a golden cloth. The black eagle depicted on it was crowned with two crowns. This flag has become the state banner of Russia.

It was good to hear the humanity in some fundamental things he said. He wasn't necessarily happy Russia went to war. He would've preferred Ukraine was brought back into the fold diplomatically. He didn't hesitate in saying he treated POWs and would've treated a Ukrainian soldier given the opportunity because it's the right thing to do. I was relatively humored when he said the soldiers razz POWs about "Why are you taking up arms against us? Go home!" when the Ukrainian soldiers are saying the same exact thing to Russian POWs.
Ivan and I fundamentally disagree on Ukraine being a sovereign territory. I fully believe in a group of peoples' right to self determination. My country has stuck its fingers in too many honey pots (although I believe this cause is a righteous one). But because of that, I'm really happy with how Zelenskyy has handled himself on the world stage. I also didn't want to see Ukraine turn into some kind of novelty puppet state. I want them to thrive as their own culture. Zelenskyy nailed it when he said "I don't need a ride. I need ammo."
I think Ivan was a bit misinformed when he said Ukraine didn't have any resources or chance to be free-standing (among other things obviously). Ukraine has some of the most fertile land in the world and supplies a large amount of wheat and other crops. Not to mention the rare earth metals that are also there. Then again, Ivan would say the same about me being misinformed so who am I to say lol
