- Quick demo of the Nordstrand MM4.4 MusicMan style pickup. Theres a switch that splits it from single (rear) coil to series and parallel mode. #nordstrand #basspickup #pitbull This is a pitbull DIY bass that I routed for the MM pickup.

Parallel sounded the best to me :)
sure...this is the "Stingray original sound"...
Sounds awesome! Do you have a wiring diagram for the MM 4.4 and the P-bass split coil together? I'm about to start on a similar build and I've had some trouble finding a diagram with that configuration.
Hey thanks, I basically used this guitarnucleus.net/resources/wiring/SeymourDuncan_1MM_1P_2V_1T.jpg as a base for my wiring, and put a split switch on the humbucker
It’s difficult to say for curtain depending on your signal chain and how this was recorded.. But at least based on this the Nordy dual-coil MM5.2 version DOES sound different! Again your hands/strings/bass/interface & YT compression makes even the most professional of demos subjective so.. But regardless, thanks for sharing this demo!! 😉
Yeah that's true, at the time I posted there was just about no other demos of this pickup anywhere at all. I just wanted to get 'some' idea of the sound of it even if it might be slightly different in my setup/playing style.
Can you divide this pickup into neck pickup and bridge pickup?
Yeah you can wire it to use just the front coils or the rear coils
@@KeroDean thnx
That’s what makes this quad-coil design so damn cool.. You get serial/parallel and single coil front/rear AND all completely hum-canceling!! Although like I mentioned in my comment I do think the quad coil sounds different compared with Nordstrand’s MM5.2 pickup. I’ve used that pickup for the past 20 years and know that sound extremely well
can you post a link for the routing/circuit of the toneknob? which Capacitor did you used?
I can't remember but I think it was a standard Pbass style tone capacitor
Which is this bass's neck A Neck or B neck?
(38mm or 41mm)at nut width
If I remember correctly its 41mm on that one
No low end
