This is the 4th time I've listened to this and the interplay and smoothness of the band is really incredible. Everybody in that band is first rate, no doubts about it. I'd love to see Russell live in a small setting one day.
I saw him play in public in a small room. Same limitless technique. But was-a low volume gig. Using an L5 studio and black colored strings. He was an endorser of both at the time. Great tone. Don’t remember what amp. Nice man. Very modest and approachable. Comes down to your rig modifying the sound. He is the real deal for sure

jazz is just one of those types of music that when a song is covered by a diferent artist, it can still be original. even though malone is pretty metal in this one, even for a song like caravan
