    I really respect that you guys are doing something inspiring and motivating and creative and fun with the opportunity that you have to do so. As a 48 year-old guy who's made his career during music my whole life, the one thing I've learned is that you just have to be in the constant mindset of that, and it just has to come naturally....
    you guys got that!

    I like that bass with more neck. The punchiness actually feels funkier by contrast when its fuller and darker. It's like it's too mellow to be that funky so that nakes it seem even funkier.

    Awesome stuff, guys! I wish y'all were close to me. I'd love to do tech work for you, and just see you live.
    I'd be interested in hearing a bit of your background. Like what musical path you each took to get where you are now, playing the kind of music you are. When did you meet, etc. It seems like funk/r&b players always have interesting stories about that stuff.
    For me, wanting to play music really started with Nirvana and guitar, then I heard Primus and picked up bass trying to challenge myself to learn everything Les did. Then a friend showed me Wooten and I went down the funk rabbit-hole. A lot more to it than that, but by the end of high-school, I was obsessed with funk and R&B and playing the same stuff as you guys. Unfortunately, there aren't enough players in my area to take it anywhere, so I ended up building and repairing guitars instead haha.
    All that said, I love seeing you all living it. I know how fun it is when you have the right people and things are just working. It's the best feeling ever. So I'm stoked to see where you guys go. You're growing fast and deserve every bit of it!

    • @telula
      @telula  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah definitely give it a shot! Only thing I’ll say is don’t cheap out on a five string if you can, you definitely get your moneys worth in terms of clarity and playability for the B string the more you put into it

    • @Iofflight78
      @Iofflight78 Месяц назад

      @@telula I've been looking at the Sire V5, partly due to the 70s placement and that it has two volume knobs instead of a tone, blend and volume like the Elite does. One thing about those is that necks are really nice but rolled, that changes the playing a bit. Secondly the hardware tuners really need replacing. I need to have more of think on it. It is a very expensive bass even if it punches above its weight. It's still not as nice as the Ultra/Elite series of Fenders.
