even though the tournament was very interesting to watch (the finals I knew it wouldn't disappoint in that sense) it was also very painful, practically seeing Carnifex's mental fall because they spent the whole time with 3 or even 4 teams fighting is absurd Plus they had to play with Lulu who had opened the game for the first time while on the other side there was Gigz's tri stack if they want to do it again I'll gladly watch another The Finals tournament, if they want to put random people it's ok but the stacks of pro players must be prevented otherwise only put those
Yeah I think that it’s also huge respect for Lulu for playing too, I would have ran it so that it’s either one top player and two streamers, because it would have been funny seeing how the top player tried co-ordinating the streamers. Or for more of a competitive feel, two top players and one streamer to watch the chaos unfold around them
They only won because they were the only pre-stack period. These guys have played together since the Betas. They grinded together for 12 hours a day, day after day to get the 1-3 places in ranked last season. 100 percent of every other team, had at minimal 1 to 3 people that didnt even play The Finals or they didnt play ranked at the same level as GIGZ stack. To add to this, the event was short notice, some teams werent even finalized until THE DAY OF. Ottr's team didnt even play together as a team until 2 hours before the event. Most other teams either didnt play at all or didnt start playing until the week of lol.
Cracking vid fella, really hope they introduce some kind of demo recording, used to spend hours upon hours analysing CS matches that way to see what i could take away.
100% and I actually made a video on this demo topic if you’re interested by the way, because even though I’d really die to have it in the game, it’s not super easy because of the data required for server side destruction, the video is; ruclips.net/video/xUjGvR2ZKhI/видео.htmlfeature=shared
This reminded me of a guy whose video i used to watch where he used to explain Pro matches of valorant what were the pro thinking amazing visual mate I really wanna see some 1000 iq plays in finals esports Hope this game grows even more
Ayy well thank you very much for watching! I really enjoy breaking matches down like this so hopefully we get to do so for official matches eventually down the line too!
Yeah that 1v2 play was wild, a lot of players would have that mindset of “ahhh it’s over” but he was like “this is not ideal” then uses his utility and specs to his advantage and flips those odds around.
Watched it live and really enjoyed this analysis. Would love to see more. For pro lobbies the current Cashout mode is great if everyone is playing the 4D chess macro. But in solo Q lobbies with less macro game it can be very frustrating. Would love to try the idea where the team holding the cashout gets the cash over time.
100% and I think that this experience translates over to the real game mode too in previous seasons. Because for trios, a lot of the time the game was a lot more engaging to play, but then the randomness of being matched against solo players decision making really made that more chaotic in a way. Not sure what Embark are going to do to solve some of the frustrations with cashout, big a bigger chunk of players solo/duo than we really think. Thanks for watching too btw!
bruh it's 1 AM here, I'm almost asleep.. Getting deep throated by a massive strategy guide did not come to my mind at all. amazing video tho, might need rewatch it tomorrow lol
I really like to discuss the balance of the cashout gamemode but that would take so much time a trials to see what works best but one thing embark can try is to give an incentive to early aggression and having it start cashing out first. One other one i think is have it like drain the cash overtime till some cap and in the end get the last remaining cash like...lets say first cash starts at 10.000$ in the span of 100 sec it cashes towards the team holding the point till it reaches 5.000$ with only 20 sec left and whoever owns it gets the last remain.
Yes, I actually made these points all the way back in CB1 before many people started talking about the balance, but back then most people were still new to the game and said the idea wasn't great, so it's cool to see that others have the same perspective/idea now, as it's one of my frustrations with the mode too.
@@THiiXY still i think they should give us some access to some testing servers for the enthusiast in the community to try balance changes before they go live to avoid some mistakes they made and test balancing for modes without upsetting the community
Would be nice to see a draft pick system eg there is a max amount of picks for each class of light, medium and heavy. This would ensure a good rotation of team compositions and all players should be versatile with certain classes. Creates also great advantages or disadvantages in some game scenarios.
That would be interesting, I’ve actually been hearing that a lot of players were getting closer to the idea of forcing LMH in matches, because it actually feels a lot more enjoyable to play against rather than meta comps etc
@@THiiXYyeah, my number one problem with the finals atm is the absolute dominance of the meta. I played in the open beta (which I felt was pretty balanced, actually) and there were optimal picks but generally everything was viable. I played early season one and with the changes made there was now a clear meta. Getting back in right now, it’s…. It’s all dual blades and heavies, and dashes Maybe I just don’t play at a competitive enough level but it’s just all I see man
@@hwyadoin_alt exactly, the devs should encourage in comp modes, the essence of this game: chaotic gameplay with various amount of playstyles. That is what the finals is making different to other games. Cashout in this state is imo not a good fit for comp style. I think quick cash would be way more entertaining and easier to watch as a spectator. Ofc with an adapted ruleset.
If you're an average player, blindly following the meta in any game may get you some quick wins, but it will cap your skill level very quickly and for several reasons.
100% I got pretty frustrated with it and decided to switch to my own POVs on stream but I agree that even from my POV it would have been waaaay easier to show narratives if colours were set, this is good feedback for Embark though!
I absolutely love this game and want to see it succeed, but the devs got to do something about invis. If I have a 10-15 second cool down after picking up a turret then the lights need a cool down on popping invis. Almost every high rank lobby I’ve been in are just full teams of light players running invis bc it’s so broken on these maps rn. Hopefully this isn’t a meta that the devs refuse to address for a full season.
Thank you! In my discord I do community nights sometimes where we all group up in private matches together, but next week I'm announcing something big :D
100% it's a different experience that's for sure, but what's cool is you can really feel the difference that it makes - having a game "for the players" instead of the sole focus on draining money out of people aha
Yeah I was saying maybe have it like Top Player + Streamer + Streamer so then it would be funny to see how the top player manages the streamers for example
@THiiXY Ya that would've been way better. My favorite twitch rivals tournaments to watch are always the ones where the teams are completely random and no one knows who's going to win. The random chaos it adds makes it really enjoyable to watch.
This is so much cooler than Terminal Attack like this is The Finals to me I can’t wait for Ranked Cashout again. World Tour doesn’t attract the same type of players that Ranked did in previous seasons. There was a clear divide before season 3 if you want to sweat play ranked if you’re just here for fun play casual now a little bit of everyone is everywhere.
Ranked cashout is scheduled to be back? I thought it was gone forever. I also think cashout is actually The Finals essence and fun, hopefully rank is back for next season ✌️
Me and my boys played gigz in the finals season 1 dudes are crackeddd. Gigz also from destiny and I don’t think peeps realize how cracked some the people who came from that game are.
Because they were the only squad filled with players who actually played the game. Other squads had one, others had none. They were more concerned about getting big names into the tournament for attention rather than giving the existing players an opportunity to compete. Player number barely changed so that worked out well...
100% but if you hear the full video, I actually used this mode as an example as to why the mode is actually quite random as well, so really either way you're screwed, but I feel that if you use this though process it will give you at least higher odds of success, and every top player uses something along these lines.
Im loving the new season but my biggest frustration is players leaving during a world tour or ranked terminal attack as soon as there's any minor loss. I play with my GF and we can hold it down with just us 2 but that's not always enough.
100% they need to dish out some more punishing examples for this. It’s in nearly every other game at a ranked level, and sure you can say “but my internet DCd” if it’s a one off okay, but it still hurts literally everyone else in that lobby.
I don’t know if it was Embark etc but I do agree that it should have been Top player + Streamer + Streamer or Top Player + Top Player + Streamer because there was some imbalances
6:33 Calling it random makes it sound bad to me, but isn't this what a lot of games strive for in player expression? Maybe cause I'm a low level player but I've never really had any frustration with the game mode
Yeah each team fight really came down to the wire on those cashouts, it’s actually really interesting that it’s like that, as I said I might make further videos on this event because everyone’s POV was really cool :)
Don't worry, Embark is fully aware that HHM is one of the strongest comps in the game (and has been, since it's inception), that's why after seeing this at some of the highest level in Twitch Rivals, they did the obvious thing and nerfed Light. Complete and absolute joke balance team.
As mentioned multiple times yes, but I still wanted to take that opportunity to teach players some cool fundamentals of basics that they still did very well regardless, I feel it’s still a bit harsh to write of the entire video with that point, as this was a rare opportunity we got to see everyone’s perspective in a high-stakes event than usual matchmaking online. That’s all, sorry if it wasn’t in the scope of what you wanted.
Cash out tournaments are just the better game mode. The third party issue is always going to exist in any game mode with multiple teams like battle royales for example. And I think this game is sort of a hybrid between a basic objective based shooter with 2 teams and a battle royale. Essentially, I think this is just how the game is designed and they shouldn’t go back on the original design because it’s what the game was developed around and it should just be expected that third parties will happen as they expect in battle royale games that are still played competitively.
Hello, this is THiiXY's funeral directors. Yes, the event was tragic, but we will be hosting the funeral in due time, he left a note saying "thanks for watching" :D
Oh in Twitch Rivals they actually played against some of the top players in the game! This video is a nice informative one if you’re wanting to learn about THE FINALS too! :)
I dunno how anyone thought the results would be different, literally 3 of the top 5 players in the world vs mixes 😂 Also found it weird gigz picked the lewis over the SA
Good question! I don’t think so, no :/ However I will say that this was more of a tournament with selected opponents etc so we have yet to see a potential full tournament which could include controller players if they qualify etc
Would really appreciate it if you could commentate with the team colors instead of the player's names to make it easier for unfamiliar viewers to keep track of what you are explaining.
Thanks for the advice! It's been a long time since then, and this was actually my first time casting live on stream, I've improved a lot since then so hopefully if you see another stream you'll see the difference :) Also on the colors, just to let you know that colors aren't persistent across players, basically in THE FINALS, everyone is on "Team Blue" so when you're casting from someones screen POV, the colors are not the same for everyone, so I had to improvise, this feedback has already been sent to the devs :D
This video would be better if you would doubt yourself less. You don't need to constantly say "oh these guys are really good so im sure they had their reasons" They are in the moment playing you are an analyst trying to make a video for everyone to improve from and put your ideas out there. If others disagree so what just be confident.
Yeah I don't know I just have this mental state where I'm always thinking that someone knows something way better, but at the same time I'm always thinking that if one of the top players were to watch the video on stream or something, they'd be like "who tf even is this thiixy guy anyways - he's not even gotten a top 10" or something so I feel that I do have to cover myself, at the same time as saying that this is just my opinions, rather than me knowing everything, but I do probably overdo it, I agree with that. Thanks for the feedback I really needed to hear this because I can imagine it would get quite frustrating to constantly hear lol
@@THiiXY Exactly, I know people use it in the final 3v3 so I intentionally stand around doing nothing until they respawn or pretend to hold from a certain position then relocate when they spawn, caught some easy elims that way but it should be removed, it's a very casual choice, I'm still not convinced Embark want a competitive audience
I thought ottr would win but I believe his team was pretty inexperienced compared to him would of been better if they scrambled the teams instead of building teams
Let’s be honest gigz team was gonna win in they’ve been in the ranked top ten since beta and half the other teams consisted of people from other ranked games
100% and that’s exactly my point with a lot of guides out there, ofc they are super helpful but there’s always so many different ways of playing this game currently, that sometimes either not 1 answer is correct, or you have to be very adaptive based on the decisions the other teams are making
I love the finals but cash out is soo luck based, one time we were splitting up because : 1 we wiped the team that was fighting for our vault ; 2 the other team was wiped for quite some time to, but we were expecting them to respawn soon ; 3 the other vault was far away and so we wanted to insert our vault first to get some advantage on the time since we are good at defending ; GUESS WHAT : The other team spawns right to the left of me (Heavy) and I died in milliseconds, I literally saw them spawn, my light and medium were 2 stories above me and 100 m in front of me, they also died after, then we got revenge but since the other team also died and their cashout finished we got molested by the other 3 teams and could not recover after
Honestly I think that the cashout mode is great and I really hope it gets to a spot where there’s more logic than chances. Sounds like in this case it was those spawns that really messed you up too and that’s another thing which is a problem on top of that. I think that even though ranked is only for TA, in Season 4 if they really work on the feedback to make the matches at least closer to logic and less random, with the new MMR system, it’s going to feel way better playing.
So all these players know how third partying works and they couldn't change it up for 15 matches so that one team wouldn't dominate? Seems like in all this time there would be some counter measures.

even though the tournament was very interesting to watch (the finals I knew it wouldn't disappoint in that sense) it was also very painful, practically seeing Carnifex's mental fall because they spent the whole time with 3 or even 4 teams fighting is absurd Plus they had to play with Lulu who had opened the game for the first time while on the other side there was Gigz's tri stack
if they want to do it again I'll gladly watch another The Finals tournament, if they want to put random people it's ok but the stacks of pro players must be prevented otherwise only put those
Yeah I think that it’s also huge respect for Lulu for playing too, I would have ran it so that it’s either one top player and two streamers, because it would have been funny seeing how the top player tried co-ordinating the streamers.
Or for more of a competitive feel, two top players and one streamer to watch the chaos unfold around them
This video was awesome to watch. Love the format of commentary as well.
Pls do the rest of the games
Ayyy well thank you very much, I'll look to see what else we can take from this event :)
Obviously these guys were good and know what they're doing, but its impossible to ignore that things were arranged exactly in their favor.
1:48 new finals skin leak??
lmao
What a thrilling match it was. Hoping for another Twitch Rivals event!
100% I think that seeing an EU one or a round 2 would be so cool :D
Great in-depth look!
Thank you for watching it! :D
This reminded me of a guy whose video i used to watch where he used to explain Pro matches of valorant what were the pro thinking amazing visual mate
I really wanna see some 1000 iq plays in finals esports Hope this game grows even more
Ayy well thank you very much for watching! I really enjoy breaking matches down like this so hopefully we get to do so for official matches eventually down the line too!
such a great video. i love these type of in depth videos
Thank you for the comment! I appreciate it as sometimes these are hard to know if they’ll be received well etc :D
thiixy edits htting hard as always
Ahaha thank you caoss
Played against GIGZ so much in the first two seasons on ranked and he is so far above your average diamond 1 player. Dude is a menace lol
Yeah that 1v2 play was wild, a lot of players would have that mindset of “ahhh it’s over” but he was like “this is not ideal” then uses his utility and specs to his advantage and flips those odds around.
why the fuck would they let people who have never played compete for the 50Gs.... that actually just pissed me off. top 500 for what?????
Top 500 is just people who play the most, but yeah, you'd think they could find better players
because they want to draw people who aren't already interested in watching the finals.
@@bighitsfootage that’s how anybody gets good at anything. Is time
Liked the vid as soon as I saw you running down the hill with the hair dryer 😂😂
LOL idk wtf I was doing just wanted to mix up the ways I make videos I guess ahaha
@@THiiXY comedy gold
Been waiting for this
Well thanks for watching, depending on the feedback I might find other perspectives of players from this event to break down :)
I’m so looking forward to watching this when I get home
Thanks Julio, a nice long video with some different editing styles too aha, hope you enjoy!
@@THiiXY absolutely loved it, might even watch it again. Thank you for the breakdown!
NOW THIS IS WHAT THE FINALS is about
HELL YEAAAAAA
bruh it's 1 AM here, I'm almost asleep.. Getting deep throated by a massive strategy guide did not come to my mind at all.
amazing video tho, might need rewatch it tomorrow lol
LOL thank you so much for watching! Yes I decided to drop this one at a different day than usual but also just trying out new stuff :)
It’s all dual blades and heavies, and dashes
Maybe I just don’t play at a competitive enough level but it’s just all I see man
@@hwyadoin_alt exactly, the devs should encourage in comp modes, the essence of this game: chaotic gameplay with various amount of playstyles.
1000% and this game is some really nice proof of it too, it will only get you so far! Thanks for watching
Rivals was dope overall. Would have been better if they had dedicated colors for each team. It was a little annoying seeing every POV as the blue team
100% I got pretty frustrated with it and decided to switch to my own POVs on stream but I agree that even from my POV it would have been waaaay easier to show narratives if colours were set, this is good feedback for Embark though!
Would love to see a breakdown of your favorite moments from the tournament
Yeah for sure, I could do an overview one as well :)
is there a VOD with your commentating? i want to watch it haha
Yes! It’s on my “live” section on my YT channel or Twitch :)
Short answer: they're nerds. Long anwser: they're nerds.
LOL I’m the biggest nerd making the video though let’s be real they earning like $$$ for this Ahahah
Woah dude great commentating and every thing! wanna game sometime? I usually play the finals alone
Thank you! In my discord I do community nights sometimes where we all group up in private matches together, but next week I'm announcing something big :D
Someone said in the finals discord that Gigz’s team has zero fun playing competitively but man the results 😂
This shooter is amazing. Nothing even comes close in my opinion. So different and refreshing
100% it's a different experience that's for sure, but what's cool is you can really feel the difference that it makes - having a game "for the players" instead of the sole focus on draining money out of people aha
I can't wait for the game to be property competitive. so upset I couldn't be up for the streams :(
How dare you stick to a sleeping like any sane person would!? It’s fine lol the vods are there after too :D
It would've been so much better as a watcher if team gigz were all split up instead of being on the same team
Yeah Gigz has crazy history with Destiny aha
lots of new info i learned from this vid..... thanks
This is awesome to hear! One of the main reasons I do this is to give info to players, so I appreciate you!
Bruh the editing 😭😭
Ahaha I don’t know anymore just trying out random stuff haha
finding gigz in ranked last season was always scary
Ahaha I can only imagine lol :D thanks for watching!!
Because they were the only squad filled with players who actually played the game. Other squads had one, others had none. They were more concerned about getting big names into the tournament for attention rather than giving the existing players an opportunity to compete. Player number barely changed so that worked out well...
do you think its worth trying to use these paths of thinking in lobbies full of teams who are just mindlessly playing?
100% but if you hear the full video, I actually used this mode as an example as to why the mode is actually quite random as well, so really either way you're screwed, but I feel that if you use this though process it will give you at least higher odds of success, and every top player uses something along these lines.
My favorite part is when the devs didnt put out a balancing fix that was desperately needed, until after the event.
Great Vid!
Appreciate you! :D
why tf did embark let a comp stack play together in a show tournament?
I don’t know if it was Embark etc but I do agree that it should have been Top player + Streamer + Streamer or Top Player + Top Player + Streamer because there was some imbalances
6:33 Calling it random makes it sound bad to me, but isn't this what a lot of games strive for in player expression? Maybe cause I'm a low level player but I've never really had any frustration with the game mode
Great content
W acting from thiixy
Ahaha thank you next Leonardo DiCaprio
Let’s be honest gigs team only one that gunfight because of double heavy. And L order for not placing down dome shield.
I watched till the end 😂
Appreciate you!! :D
Man I really hope twitch rivals put this game on the map in terms of comp
Yeah I think it would have done some contributing but not as big as others would think, it needs more of these, and official too.
Because they're the only 3 stacks in this tourney
As mentioned multiple times yes, but I still wanted to take that opportunity to teach players some cool fundamentals of basics that they still did very well regardless, I feel it’s still a bit harsh to write of the entire video with that point, as this was a rare opportunity we got to see everyone’s perspective in a high-stakes event than usual matchmaking online.
That’s all, sorry if it wasn’t in the scope of what you wanted.
@@THiiXY loved the video, but “high stakes” implies we didn’t know exactly how the tournament was gonna go before it happened lol
Still can't believe THiiXY died while making this video, R.I.P king
Hello, this is THiiXY's funeral directors. Yes, the event was tragic, but we will be hosting the funeral in due time, he left a note saying "thanks for watching" :D
Haven't watched the video but my guess is - they ran stacked heavy with heals and played people who had never really touched the game?
Oh in Twitch Rivals they actually played against some of the top players in the game! This video is a nice informative one if you’re wanting to learn about THE FINALS too! :)
I dunno how anyone thought the results would be different, literally 3 of the top 5 players in the world vs mixes 😂
Also found it weird gigz picked the lewis over the SA
were there any controller players in this tournament?
Good question! I don’t think so, no :/ However I will say that this was more of a tournament with selected opponents etc so we have yet to see a potential full tournament which could include controller players if they qualify etc
The shield juking from gigs because he’s so used to doing in destiny with titans
Ohhh that’s a good point actually, I forgot about transferring mechanics from other games over to THE FINALS! Thanks :)
@@THiiXY mans was suffering in trials long before the finals 🤣 man he used to hate us. But he a g.
Having 3 cashouts I believe will help with the third party
Would really appreciate it if you could commentate with the team colors instead of the player's names to make it easier for unfamiliar viewers to keep track of what you are explaining.
Thanks for the advice! It's been a long time since then, and this was actually my first time casting live on stream, I've improved a lot since then so hopefully if you see another stream you'll see the difference :)
Also on the colors, just to let you know that colors aren't persistent across players, basically in THE FINALS, everyone is on "Team Blue" so when you're casting from someones screen POV, the colors are not the same for everyone, so I had to improvise, this feedback has already been sent to the devs :D
I got put in timeout for the entire steam for asking why the commentator woman in the stream had a busted can of biscuits on top of her head😭
Nice video sir
Ayy I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment :D
1:21 you accidentally typed stronk😂
aha it's a meme way of saying strong, hasn't been used in a while I guess :D
@@THiiXY oh😭
@@THiiXY i forgot about the meme
This video would be better if you would doubt yourself less. You don't need to constantly say "oh these guys are really good so im sure they had their reasons"
They are in the moment playing you are an analyst trying to make a video for everyone to improve from and put your ideas out there.
Thanks for the feedback I really needed to hear this because I can imagine it would get quite frustrating to constantly hear lol
this is why cashout is more fun than that boring terminal attack

Thanks for watching :)
If I only played this game I’d be cracked too😂
I would relate but I only play this game and I can promise you I’m not cracked ahaha

Wait The Finals had a twitch rivals?
They were handed the win, not even FIFA was so obvious with Argentina in the last world cup...
you could have just said gigz team is top 3 leaderboards rankers
free cam needs to be removed for a competitive environment, I know most people don't use it for advantage but if they did...
It’s actually super OP when you think about it, in some cases you can even get a free preview on the other teams setup without exposing yourself to it
@@THiiXY Exactly, I know people use it in the final 3v3 so I intentionally stand around doing nothing until they respawn or pretend to hold from a certain position then relocate when they spawn, caught some easy elims that way but it should be removed, it's a very casual choice, I'm still not convinced Embark want a competitive audience
COD/xdefiant players complaining that they have to use their brains to win 😂
i cant believe thiixy fried my rice
Ayoooo wut
I thought ottr would win but I believe his team was pretty inexperienced compared to him would of been better if they scrambled the teams instead of building teams
Let’s be honest gigz team was gonna win in they’ve been in the ranked top ten since beta and half the other teams consisted of people from other ranked games
many twitch rivals player dont even play the game
The Game is Simply too dynamic for 1answer to keep being the “right” one
100% and that’s exactly my point with a lot of guides out there, ofc they are super helpful but there’s always so many different ways of playing this game currently, that sometimes either not 1 answer is correct, or you have to be very adaptive based on the decisions the other teams are making
Wish I could get half the hours in the game that they do
Ahaha, I know that feeling
3 stack against random trios that mostly don’t even play the game. Really awful decision to let Gigz to have his main stack.
Yeah I would have liked something such as;
Top Player + Top Player + Streamer (more serious)
or
Streamer + Streamer + Top Player (more fun)
I love the finals but cash out is soo luck based, one time we were splitting up because :
1 we wiped the team that was fighting for our vault ;
2 the other team was wiped for quite some time to, but we were expecting them to respawn soon ;
3 the other vault was far away and so we wanted to insert our vault first to get some advantage on the time since we are good at defending ;
GUESS WHAT : The other team spawns right to the left of me (Heavy) and I died in milliseconds, I literally saw them spawn, my light and medium were 2 stories above me and 100 m in front of me, they also died after, then we got revenge but since the other team also died and their cashout finished we got molested by the other 3 teams and could not recover after
Honestly I think that the cashout mode is great and I really hope it gets to a spot where there’s more logic than chances.
Skill issue
because they are. duh?
Cause half the lobby had never played the game before and other half were the finals creators..
So all these players know how third partying works and they couldn't change it up for 15 matches so that one team wouldn't dominate? Seems like in all this time there would be some counter measures.
