    I’m 42 and here are a couple of mine. You can’t waste your life because there’s nothing you’re supposed to do with it, and don’t romanticize regret. Just decide what you’re going to do today.

    There's a quote I love from, I believe, a tumblr post that I think is golden advice "To be the most authentic, complete version of yourself, you're probably gonna have to disappoint your parents a little."
    I 'm 24 and I still value my parents approval soso much and I need to loosen up a lil

      I'm 23, and this is so relatable. If you grew up in a household in which you were encouraged to turn to your parents for every big decision, it becomes incredibly hard to suddenly become independent and completely self reliant.

    • @abididubidi7815
      @abididubidi7815 3 месяца назад +7

      that is So so true, even if your parents aren't strict or horrible they're gonna have their own vision of things and it's gonna be different from yours, also this doesn't mean that you need to cut contact with them- which is something I had to learn. you can just approach things in a nuanced way.

I will concentrate on fulfilling my dream of becoming a cardiac surgeon. It is better to at least TRY doing something than waiting around for things to happen, because guess what, nothing changes if nothing changes. 25 was quite possibly one of the worst years of my life. I was depressed, going through a "quarter life crisis", feeling like mortality was slapping me in the face. I was fresh out of a master's program and working my first office job and feeling like "holy shit this cannot be the rest of my life." meanwhile, 26 has been AMAZING. I am so excited about life now and I feel like I know myself more and more everyday. Being in your late 20s is fucking awesome and I hate that we're led to believe that it's not or that we're "old"

      I’m in the same boat, just turned 25 this year and in my quarter life crisis! I haven’t reached any of my age goals I’ve been striving for and I’m really trying to adjust my perspective to live day be day instead and to create new goals not associated with “where I want to be by x age,” which is difficult since it’s how we (typically) are all taught to create goals through the current schooling systems

    Okay I'm just gonna share what I'm most ashamed of: That I am scared of going after my greatest passion. I will turn 26 in 2 months and the last five years I wanted to invest in learning music production. Well, I have learned a little. But just a little. And I am so ashamed because I am so so scared. I could have so many skills by now, but instead I watch tv shows or doom scroll because the fact that I still don't real know how to work with my sampler is something that makes me feel so ashamed and scared that it literally paralyses me, even though music is my biggest passion and I know that being able to create it myself, is my biggest dream in life. Oh well, but I will get there

      omg feel it. i burned a lot of money for software and equipment a while ago to give me the feeling of commiting and i did NOTHING with it so far bc music software is really overwhelming. also mainly got into music production because i miss making music irl with other people so hard that i wanted to prove to myself that i am capable of making music all on my own bc my social anxiety keeps me from making new friends who are also into music. which, yeah, maybe is a bit counterproductive.

      i'm experiencing this as well (turning 26 this year). my two cents is that i think we're afraid to be beginners. we have high expectations for ourselves. the solution to that is get curious! allow yourself to be a beginner, learn stuff along the way, know that with time, it's all about making a choice and making the best out of that choice. Time is finite (it's crazy i know) but that kind of helps somehow. it's either day one or one day.

      yess i am the same with writing songs!! truly no human experience is unique lol. we just have to accept that we're not going to become instantly great at anything, we have to do stuff badly for a bit before getting good. it's really hard. we're too focused on having achieved something but the real goal should be the enjoyment of the process. my therapist says the moment we become perfect at something we stop being alive, because mistakes allow us to evolve, so being a beginner is actually the whole point. i still don't believe her but she's definitely right

    I’m turning 22 in less than a month and I feel like even this small sliver of “my 20’s” that I’ve lived so far has been full of growth I have yet to see until now. My piece of advice is to give the ugly things the name they have earned. Abuse is abuse, don’t give it a nicer name to console yourself or others. Once I was able to see the things I’ve been through how they are instead of seeing them through the lens of the story I would use to comfort myself, I became able to grapple with them on an even playing field. You can’t know what weapons to bring to a battle if you don’t know the enemy you’re fighting, so I may not be in control of what happens to me, but I can give myself the proper tools to heal those wounds and come out stronger.

    As someone who will be 29 in October (literally pushing thirty lol) I agree with everything you said here, and I'd like to add that as long as you aren't hurting anyone, always do what's right for you EVEN if your parents disapprove. Taking advice from them is great but it's very easy to end up living the life they want for you and not the one you want for yourself.
    Also, never trust a person who doesn't like pets. It's very sus. That's it, my two cents.

    As someone who is 29 (and only JUST NOW learning about the points you've made) I really wish I had known about this sooner. I wasted a good 4 years in university just cause my dad said to go when I was 19, and wasted another 4 years doing a degree I hate just cause I thought "may as well finish what I started" only to decide to go into a career that didn't need a degree at all. I really wasted all of my 20's, but now I'm trying to live the life I want. emphasis on "trying".

    Oh! heres one from me too! Don't assume you don't have talent or you can't do something because someone else is already more talented or meant for it. Anyone can master anything and become anything at any age with enough practice and willpower. So setting up everyday habbits executing them on a daily basis will not only get you closer to the goal, but also feel more content with yourself. Its all about habits!

    i'm 21 and though i've basically been stuck in a perpetual "quarter life crisis"* for the past 4 or so years, ever since i turned 20 i feel it's gotten a lot worse. it's become painfully clear how behind i am compared to other people my age. i've never dated, i can't drive, i don't know how to make friends, i don't have any hobbies that i genuinely enjoy, i've never had sex, i have no idea what career i want to go into after college--the list just goes on and on. i think about my future and i can't imagine anything except a blank void. i started making more of an effort to actually do things with my time instead of just laying in bed scrolling, but it's hard. i get tired and discouraged and sad so easily. even then, i know i have no choice but to just keep trying. hopefully i will have a life someday that i am happy to live.
    * sidenote: i recently discovered that this may actually just be depression! haha

    • @shoubidou-bah3175
      @shoubidou-bah3175 2 месяца назад +3

      I'm no expert but maybe if you can get yourself checked for that depression? Because wouldn't it be great if you could take medication and then find that all of a sudden starting things and enjoying them could actually be doable :D
      I wish you all the best!

      I feel like what you’re dealing with is how I felt at 20/21. A lot of those goals will be accomplished as you age. I’m now 23, and I realized you can’t fit all your goals in one year. So, I think making short terms goals like try x new hobby or join an activity at my college to try and make friends is a good starting point I did. All those goals also take time, so don’t be too hard on yourself.

    A little tip: May be better to state that that you are sponsored before talking about the sponsor, instead of at the end. Believe this is what most content creators do.
    It makes it clear when the paid promotion starts, ensuring you are compliant with sponsorship rules.

    The second half of my 26 and the first of my 27 has been rough. Felt old and stuff. The second half of my 27 feeling better tho, I read some quote by Guillermo del Toro that helped me. Time passes anyways and not when and how you'd like to. And I don't even think much about making the most of it, just letting it be and maybe try not to let opportunities slip, and actually doing what you want if you can, I've been thinking like that lately.

    As someone who is almost 17, I just wanna say some shits that have made my life so sad, and things im afraid of, and things I am excited for.
    I know this is so off topic, buy the last days have been so hard for me, because I cant really talk to anyone about these things because most of my family members aren't open minded.
    So anyway, leys get started
    I will just be saying random stuff, and not everything will make sense, but i just need to write these things.
    Since i was young, i always wondered if other familys also go through hell, or is it just mine. I love my parents the most in the world, but since i was younger, i accepted that my parents aren't normal, like my mom slways manipulate and gaslight everone in our house hold, and lies so much, but on the other hand she is the kindest on certain days, meanwhile my dad is someone that just wants to make everyone happy, and does not know how to solve any issues, just like my mom, and he never stands up for himself.
    Ofc there is so much i can go on about judging them and selling more stories, but there is no need, bec there is no use saying stuff like that, but anyway, my mom and dad always forced me to de certain things, like hobbies, sports, and and never really cared(I know that some of you just think that I am just a rude young bitch that just complains, but the things i went through as a small child, and even still today, i wouldn't wish things like this to anyone)

    • @jwsbruwer1276
      @jwsbruwer1276 3 месяца назад +1

      And I am not saying that I haven't made mistakes, I have lied to my mother about so many things, while I wish I haven't, but she was the whole reason why I lied, because no matter how or what i fid, she always judged me, always finding a reason to take her anger out on us, and my dad, who never stood up against my mother when he clearly know what she did to me was wrong, and both of them that always lied to each other, and never truly trusting each other.
      I have been through so much, seen so much, have been depressed a bunch of times, wanted to commit suicide many times, forced to do so much, and no matter how good I have done, it was never enough.
      I have come over the point of trying to end my life, mainly because these is one thing that keeps me going, which is finding love, I mean real, true love.
      I know that that's a silly reason, but that is the only reason why I keep going, no matter how hard it gets, I feel like I have to try, so that I might have a good wonderful future with that person.
      I know that it is very hard to find a person like that, and the chances might not be high, and I am scared of falling in love in the future, and getting rejected, or that it just turns out to be one sided love.
      I think about things so much, and I want to write more stuff here, but I don't know how to change my thought into words.
      I also have a fear of getting rejected by my parents when they find out that I'm gay, but I have gone through so much tears and trauma, what is a little more sadness?
      I work on myself every day to be a better person, and every time I feel scared about messing my life up and ending up homeless, I stop worring because I know that I won't be able to let that happen to myself, because I care too much, and I love learning too much to let's things like that to happen.
      I also worrie if in the future, when I have found someone truly like in my dreams, and we life together, and what of there is a accident, and he dies, what will I do then? Will I be able to move on if the thing that I have worked for my whole life just disappears? How will I react?
      All that I want in my life is to have love( soneone that realy really really loves me, and that would stand up for me, so that I'm not the only person trying to give love, but so that the other person also gives real love back) and is to make other people happy, and is to do fun things together, and to ALWAYS tell the truth to each other, no matter how hard it is, because I will try as hard as I can to be better, to be kinder, and to learn and to love
