Join me as I briefly cover each of the swords Finn uses within the show including the finn sword, grass sword, night sword, and even the demon blood sword. How they all connect to his story, and the creation and abilities of each one within the Adventure time universe. Remember, the Finn sword was actually returned when Fern broke the curse of the grass sword and it was lodged in the Fern tree. It's claimed by Shermy 1000 years in the future, so in a way Finn reunited with it after all.

The Night Sword can change its size to fit its wielder. It has gotten much bigger when an adult Sweet P wields it.
We did not see a change when Finn wields it, because the sword was originally made for him.

Finns golden sword of battle was actually called the scarlet he named it after the ruby embedded in the handle

You should make a video about all of the supernatural abilities that Finn has. Like how he was made lightning proof in the later seasons. Or how he used his spirit projection to build the tower in the space. There’s also a scene in the episode “no one can hear you” we’re Finn basically does fire magic to get warm with no explanation. If we’re talking about magic, he knows and uses a couple spells. And then there’s all the sword abilities. Idk it might be fun to research

Given how Finn and Jake easily learned Ice King's Ice Ninjutsu, i think they both wield some quantity of magic themselves

Don’t forget how easily he and jake were able to learn ice spells to be ninjas in that one episode in a short amount of time.
Something I can appreciate is that you can tell which season it is based on the sword he's currently packing (and later by whether he has his arm, has a stump, or a prosthetic)
Also appreciate that one of the last swords he wields is a rapier, which shows how much more refined he has become

With all the swords Finn has been given Im surprised he was never given a lightsaber type of sword. I mean with how crazy the technology in Adventure Time has shown to be it’s definitely possible

Well there was one time where he fused flame with his sword when he became an elemental but not sure that counts 😅

I think he a lightsaber in the adventure time comic, I remember seeing a panel of all his random swords as a kid, he had the master sword and even cloud’s sword
That would be dope. Imagine if Finn could cleave anything after losing the Finn sword but I don't think the crew that made Star Wars would go along with it unless if Pendleton Ward asked for their permission first of course.
The Grass sword is my favorite adventure time sword. I remember watching the episode for the first time and wanting one myself, it's literally an automatic sword with loads of extra features as well. It just seems the most versatile sword out of all of em

Definitely agree, I tought so as well when the chapter came out and I even made a clay version of it and folded it around my arm, just like the show, I wore it for weeks until it got all crumbly and had to throw it away
God, imagine if Finn kept some of these swords since we know he can duel wield pretty well then through in his cosmic importance so he could learn some incredible magic. I need to see a full potential Finn at some point like fan art or something.

Hey you should really read the Adventure Time books and Comics because Finn’s swords get even crazier then this. In one issue Finn gets a sword called the Blade of the Defender from the Moon which shoots lasers as long as he isn’t hurt and in another book I think he gets something called the Ultimate Sword which is basically the Adventure Time version of the Sword of Grayskull from He Man
Man the comics were really fun, might do a poll on whether we should cover them one day 😅
Sounds like a reference to the Legend of Zelda where the sword shoots lasers when you have full health

It's funny to think that Finn literally own lots of magical sword yet never utilized it properly. I just noticed that throughout the show, there will be instances where Finn right arm would cut off or lost so it would be interesting to see you recapped about Finn right arm and how it works.

My favourite sword is definitely the Finn sword! I always loved the design, the funcionalities but the most beloved thing by me is its backstory and significance and importance. The fact that this sword is actually finn and there is a small finn inside was always fascinating for me. It gives you the vibe that you are wielding another human being in your hands ( no wonder finn got depressed after he "killed it" in I am sword). And now the fact that it doubles the stats of Finn and adds Finn's stats to other wielders gives got me like WHAT!?. It made this sword even coller for me 😎
The only reason it's not my second pick is that the grass sword is just so dang cool. The abilities and cursed aspect was really fun.
I like Scarlet. It was his first ever sword he used as an adventurer. Least til it blowed up when he used it to destroy a black hole. But man what a way for Scarlet to go.

You actually forgot something about the Night Sword: the eye decoration on its hilt can be flipped over to reveal a compass.
The Finn swored actully returns, being pulled up by Remy from the top of the Fern tree 1000 years in the future during Together Again

Well that golden sword did have an official name "Scarlet"
My favorite sword is definitely the demon blood. It has the coolest design out of all the swords and despite its rather simple sets of abilities when compared to other swords it's still a very powerful weapon. It also has an emotional connection for Finn since it's his dad's last gift for him and I was kinda bummed they didn't at least have the sword fixed so he could still have something to connect him to his dad.
The seried kinds forgets joshua is finns actual dad in favor for the typicsl his biological daddy is important trope. Kinda like how anytime someone mentions goku's father its always bardock and never old man gohan.
@@raiford5082 yeah I always hate that trope. Like it's cool if they want to create a story with a bond between a child and their bio dad but the step/adopted dad deserves the love too(speaking as someone who love both his bio and step dads)
the theory of why would it be given to sweet P is great I can see it fit and why would Finn need a new sword
One of my favorite non magical Swords is the Rattleballs Sword, the one Finn uses to destroy the Banana monster

Something I've always wondered was, in the clip where the mushroom bomb goes off and the lich is walking away from it, who are the minions around him. Clearly night undead, or even seeming to be possessed, since they're not glowing green.
On the topic of swords, I remember playing this Adventure Time game back when I was a kid where Finn would constantly get new swords. The plot reason was because there was a blacksmith so good, anything he touched turned into a rad sword.

Wait, I know I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to the Adventure Time stuffs, but wasn't it shown that in the future another 2 guys come across the Finn-Sword? Like a cat-person and dog-person or something?
I accidentally deleted the dialogue cuz I was rushing to get this out. After Fern dies and his seed is replanted the Finn sword is at the top of the tree. My bad 😅
There's also the wall of swords that is shown in a battle room in fin and Jake's house but as far as I can remember the show doesn't show him using the large majority of the one's shown... Makes me think that during his adventures fin goes ooo that's a cool sword and just grabs it, though most of them look pretty nice...

I've been working on an adventure time fan games kinda like an rpg so I've been rewatching the show and I've been trying to find weapons to add at the beginning of the game to keep the game balanced, stuff like swords crossbows and magic with bosses. So this video was super helpful I'll still have to keep re-searching tho.

Man, you forgot about two swords: the first one being his first sword, that one BMO sees he is using in the BMO Distant Lands, and the one he earns from Rattleballs. That's why bandit princess was able to fight him to a stand still and even force him to use the grass sword.

Still curious on where that knowledge about Finn’s powered up state came from
I find it pretty neat that Finn inherited the Demon Blood Sword from Joshua, his adoptive dad, and later on the Night Sword ended up becoming the last sword he used and passed on to someone else (Sweet Pea). Both these swords have demonic origins that in a way represent Finn's own heroism journey.
The Demon Blood Sword was forged forcefully by the demon captured by Joshua, and the Night Sword was willingly forged by Peppermint Butler, and willingly enhanced by Hunson, a demon who actually took a liking to Finn. I dunno if the crew made this parallel on purpose or not, but it's pretty cool to see. Finn wielded the Demon Blood Sword back when he's still battle ready to overcome any obstacle he face and wielded the Night Sword by the time he's more mature and willing to negotiate whenever possible is pretty cool

One thing I never understood about the Finn Sword is why the sword's Finn wasn't shown with a grass demon of his own. The Grass Sword was instrumental in fulfilling Finn's destiny to losing his arm in the episode directly after Prismo is killed.
With Finn's arm sort of (but not exactly) growing back in "Breezy", the grass demon is shown to be still with him, so it would've been carried into the other realm in "Is That You?". After all, that's where and when the Finn Sword came from, being successfully brought back to Ooo.
After the Grass Sword pierced the Finn Sword (or later, when the grass demon left main Finn and went into the Finn Sword and animated it into Fern), there should've been two grass demons with Sword Finn.
I'd think when Prismo forged the Finn Sword, the personage was purified and distilled into a cosmic essence.
Not quite his soul, but a facet of his soul given form. He didn't speak, and only learned to after the grass brought him to life (and gradually developed awareness)
@@CycleMantis I guess that would also explain why Sword Finn has both arms despite seeming to not have a grass demon of his own.

I’m kinda surprised that the Golden Sword of Battle has become so synonymous with Finn. I mean sure it was his first sword but it only lasted like 2 seasons before being destroyed in the 4th dimensional Black Hole. The Demon Blood Sword, Grass Sword, and Finn Sword were all used for much longer and to greater effect. Also I really hate the Night Sword. It was built up as a big thing for the upcoming battle with Gumbald and Finn only used it in like 2 episodes. Wasted potential.

@@TrueLocalEnthusiast Yeah they did. Was cool but was dropped cause of Finn’s sudden onset case of pacifism. And yeah the first 2 seasons of the show were part of a lot of people’s childhood, so they associate the gold sword with him. Also where did you get this information on the sword’s btw? I don’t remember it ever being said in the show that the Finn Sword gives you Finn’s strength for example.
@@cinnabarmanx4214 A combination of going back to watch the episodes and a bit from the wiki but obviously try to keep that to a minimum. I mainly just use it to find sources.
