    It was also somewhat weird that jakes children( and all future offspring) all ended up with crazy superpowers, like I understand jake is stretchy and lady can has some minor powers, but for that to make every Pup in the future to have absurd powers didn’t really add up. But if you look at it through the lense of “they are all the offspring of a cosmic entity” it starts making a lot more sense

    • @HeadCasey
      @HeadCasey  Год назад +491

      Yeah that's true, I didn't really cover it in this video because we never saw Jake attempt this, but since his Alien Dad and his future offspring both have portal making powers, this basically confirms that Jake has portal powers too and just never thought to try use them. He literally sees his Alien Dad stretch into a unique shape that unlocks a portal and Jake never questions it, he never asks "how did you do that? Can I do that? Let me try" or anything.
      The only time we see Jake attempt to be a portal, he was specifically being a pretend portal to distract Ice Finn.
      At no point did Jake ever believe or imagine that he can make portals, but he totally can 🤣

      Yeah but we also don't really know the extent of the powers that Rainicorns have. We know they can change things colours at least and that they can open new dimensions, phase through matter and make matter temporarily incorporeal(when Lady fused various party members in her body to move them around in the murder party mystery episode) so it's not really surprising that his kids would have new powers that might exist as a sort of secret synergy between his own abilities and the abilities of ranicorns. Also to note is that, while he is a dog, he's an anthropomorphic extra-dimensional dog as his ancestors came from Lady's dimension. He's not native to Earth, he's half-alien, half-extradimensional alien dog.
      This means his children have 3 unique alien bloodlines and his grandchildren have even more.

    • @HeadCasey
      @HeadCasey  Год назад +113

      @@Nanamowa pause for a second. Where exactly did you see that Jake's Dog bloodline came from Lady's Dimension?
      Because as far as I have seen...
      (Spoilers for an upcoming video)
      Rainicorns gained access to Ooo shortly after the Mushroom War and began eating Humans which triggered a war with Dogs. With Dogs being "Man's best friend" they fought the Rainicorn invasion right back into the Crystal Dimension from which they came. Upon winning the war, dogs claim ownershop over the crystal dimension and enforced Dog Law upon the remaining Rainicorns. Some family's like Lady's parents are cool with this because a dog saved their parents in the war or whatever, but Rainicorns like Lee never accepted Dog Law and want to war again to reclaim the Crystal Dimension for Rainicorns once more.

    To further specify his stretching powers, he is capable of:
    -Changing the shape of his body at will
    -Fusing and unfusing parts of his body - we see this in the way he makes a key with a hole in it using his hand. Hands do not have holes, however, meaning he's not just changing its shape, but its topography.
    -Spontaneously creating and uncreating matter - Jake's weight seems to be in proportion to his size. This means he's not necessarily 'stretching' at all, which implies the same mass being spread across a greater area; rather, he is gaining mass. Moreover when he gets poisoned and expands his liver, his liver is not just the size of 51 dog livers, but also has the functionality, indicating that he has not just stretched his liver out but increased its mass.
    The ability to spontaneously create and destroy matter is so powerful that it literally breaks the laws of physics.

    Slight variance in timeline. His parents didn’t adopt Finn in the middle of his criminal career. Finn and Jake were babies together. Dogs just grow up faster, so he went off and did crime while Finn was still a toddler. Then their parents died and Jake stepped up and took over raising Finn. Which always surprised me cause Germaine seemed a lot more responsible.

    • @HeadCasey
      @HeadCasey  Год назад +196

      Sorry but I think you might need to double check that.
      "Dogs just grow up faster"
      Except that Jake was born with his powers in tact, he technically was never a baby, just baby sized and pretending to be a baby for a while.
      Now Jake says he did his crime spree "a long time ago, before we knew it was wrong" and we clearly see several episodes/examples of Joshua and Margaret raising Finn and Jake to be Nobel Hero's together.
      So he already knew right from wrong at that point and Jake was on the "path of good" long before his parents actually died.
      So it truly was Finns introduction into his life that was the key factor in Jake's lifestyle change.

    • @HeadCasey

      @@HeadCasey I don’t think your theory contradicts this comment though. Jake came out singing and dancing, but immediately flopped over limp. I don’t think he was fully functional at all, that was just his version of when newborn babies burp and sneeze right after birth. Also, Jake was surprised when his own pups grew up much faster than he did, in only a day. So I think it’s safe to say that Jake was a baby for at least longer than a day, but I’d figure it was more like a normal puppy timeline. Say, 6 months

    • @HeadCasey
      @HeadCasey  Год назад +45

      @@rosamy2017 it really really does though. Let's say the other guy is right and it took Jake 6 months from Birth to start crime...
      Finn still wasn't in the picture at that point.
      They didn't adopt Finn the day after Jake was born.
      They adopted Finn some time later when they actually found him.
      This means that sure "Jake could have done his crime spree while Finn was still a toddler" but Finn arrived at Ooo as a toddler already.
      Jake's Crime Spree ended when Finn become his brother and they all played babies together (even though Jake didn't have to) for a few years learning Right and Wrong together from the parents before they died.

      Jake ages in dog years.
      Firstly, in the First Investigation(S10E8), it was shown Finn, Jake and Jermaine (the forgotten brother) all as babies. Finn was a baby when he was found in Ooo, as said by Margaret when she found him.
      Secondly, the end scene of the BMO episode of distant lands confirms that BMO met Finn and Jake when Finn was a toddler and Jake was in his twenties. Jake was in his signature 20’s jacket that was seen in the flashbacks of Daddy-Daughter Card Wars (S8E11). Which confirms Jake ages in dog years. Because if Finn was a toddler when BMO came then in dog years Jake would be at least 22. Also that was about the time of his complete meltdown from the Card Wars game, which may have started his crime spree downfall.
      Its my favourite show, don’t at me 😄

      Bingo, that's one of two reasons I left that exact moment in, the other reason is that it also proves that Book-o and his interpretation of "the known multiverse" are running in real-time.... Which is truly insane when you remember that the Enchiridion (with Booko inside) was already an ancient artifact when Simon found it before the Mushroom War even began.
      So the book is at least several thousand years old and is implied to be scanning/watching the entire "known" multiverse that entire time

    It always struck me as a bit odd that Jake was friends with Prismo and other cosmic entities / gods to the point that he could just hang out in The Time Room. Like, I could see him being invited over once in while via Dreams and catching a ride from the Dream Owl, but Prismo goes out of his way to transport Jake's full corporeal form to The Time Room on the regular? Wild.
    "Yea, here's cosmic Wishmaster Prismo, The Cosmic Owl of prophetic dreams, Martian God: Grob Gob Glob Grod, The Party God, etc. Oh, and here's Jake the Dog. No, he's a mortal, but he can do cool stretchy stuff. show 'em Jake!"
    Jake actually being some lowkey cosmic entity flying under the radar is just...
    _mind blown_
    Upon further thought, I wonder if Jake is loosely based on Azathoth, at least in concept. Basic shared descriptors being, "...he is always changing." and "Possesses the powers of Reality Dreaming"

    • @HeadCasey
      @HeadCasey  Год назад +232

      Exactly, for me the main clue was when Prizmo straight up refuses Jake's wish.
      Like he casually allows the Lich to wish away all life in all realities, he casually allows Finn to wish up a reality that eventually breaks the Multiverse, but he won't allow Jake to wish for a sandwich?
      Prizmo goes out of his way to basically force Jake to use his "one wish" in a way that guarantees that Jake (and by extension Finn) return home safely.
      Why?
      Why was Prizmo so invested in Jake right from the beginning?

      Well I did leave that scene in on purpose because it's suspicious in many ways, not just that it zooms in on Jake.... But that it's imagery is in real time, we see Jake freaking out inside the projection so it's a "live feed" of the universe at that moment... Which suddenly becomes extra suspicious when we remember that the Enchiridion is probably the oldest relic in the show... It's been able to watch the entire Multiverse in real time for the entire time that it existed...

      In all fairness tho, it’s possible jake needs at least a basic understanding of the thing rather than just seeing it. At first glance you can tell a car moves because the tires roll. It’s easy then to just make tires that roll and move forward. A plane words differently, it has to stay in the air unlike cars and boats which are held up by the ground and water respectively. We see jake is clearly capable of getting the propeller to spin but it’s much harder to understand the concept of lift, which checks out given that Jake mistakenly tries flapping the wings showing he doesn’t understand it.

Maybe that's the catch to his power if he doesn't know how something works he can't fully imagine it maybe that's what holds him back. Meaning if he knew how his powers worked he could reach his full potential. When Jake does fly he flies in a very similar pattern to lady Rainicorn and if she explained to Jake how flying works for rainicorns then Jake could have effortlessly imagined it working for him by imagining that he's channeling the power of rainicorns to make him fly. He has no clue about the physics that makes a plane fly so therefore he cannot imagine it and it cannot be.

    as much as i find this theory very interesting, there are some holes. First off, Jake can only color shift between yellow and blue, and that's because hes part yellow dog and part blue alien, not because he imagines it. Second, the episode with Jake imagining things and them becoming real is more of an abstract episode, and it isn't only him who can do it, but Finn too. The whole point of the episode is to encourage kids to be creative and have fun, especially since its part of the earlier, less meaningful episodes. it makes sense that he has to imagine the things that he builds using his own stretch bod, but not things outside of his powers. Though, I gotta say this was very well thought out and honestly quite scary to think about if it was indeed true.

    • @HeadCasey
      @HeadCasey  Год назад +2

      You clearly missed the two examples shown in the video where he also colour shifted red. So add red into your "only yellow and blue" restrictions that you made up.
      Finn didn't actually have any powers over imagination, he said out loud everything he was trying to imagine, so Jake was able to believe in Finn's imagination and thus the things Finn wanted to imagine real became real because Jake believed they would. There are many examples in the show of people telling Jake what they believe will happen next, and then it does. You will be hard pressed to find any examples of anyone imagining anything into existence without Jake specifically being around. Also the early episodes are still canon, people who try tell you they aren't are wrong.

    Amazing video.
    While I'll have to give more thought to the "Jake is a cosmic being/Prismo's boss" thing, I definitely agree with Jake's powers being reliant on his imagination and willpower.
    Also, somewhat unrelated, if you want to get into the nitty gritty mathematics, Jake doesn't technically "stretch" or at least he doesn't exclusively.
    Pulled from the internet: "Topology is the mathematical study of the properties that are preserved through deformations, twistings, and stretchings of objects. Tearing, however, is not allowed."
    Jake, however, tears when he creates new holes (such as the clip you showed where he transforms from a solid magnifying glass into just the rim and handle of the magnifying glass. Same as when he becomes a donut.) He changes his inherent topology, something that you cannot achieve through stretching alone. So either he functions as some sort of liquid that can tear and join back with itself, or his true form exists in a higher dimension or something.

    • @HeadCasey
      @HeadCasey  Год назад

      Brilliant comment. For the record while I claim "Jake is Prismos boss" I didn't know if I was clear enough that Jake doesn't know that he is the boss. Jake just thinks he is Jake, it's part of the whole "Jake doesn't understand his own powers" bit.
      And your right, he either acts as a liquid (as shown at the start of the video in "life and times" when I show him squish himself fluidly through a gate reforming on the other side without issue) or he acts as a Glob of some sort (as shown near the end of the video)

    It would be so crazy if Jake actually changes the dimensions/multiverse/reality he's in. Like how the pilot of adventure time was pen and Jake it suddenly changed into finn and Jake. It's like the teen titans episode with the 5D character with dick Grayson spelled backwards or superman's best 5D friend. Jake changes the narrative and if he lets imagination run too wild he changes everything including the appearance of the cartoon he resides in. That's why when Darren and the war elephant fought he said that everything was different, because Jake probably messed with the narrative, and the appearance of the reality, and that's why things seem to be dumbed down a bit. It went from beings like the lich, Darren, the war elephant, prison kept with ancient unexplained beings, golb, glob, Abraham Lincoln, to the cAnDy kInDoM, with dumbed down characters. Ever think about why finn went from a kid who was able to throw a giant over his shoulder to a guy who can't even compete with vampires even though he's an abstract like Jake? Because of Jake. Adventure time is a story about two abstracts in a playground called the multiverse.

    The part that I would say your missing is about GOLB. As even Prismo's Time Room does not affect GOLB whatsoever (this is seen with Magic Man wishing Margles back and Simon wishing Betty back they only get a trashcan with a basketball hoop on it and a paper going through said hoop into trashcan). Only when you are inside of GOLB would a wish even be slightly possible. But there are certain limits to that. For even wishes can't wish them away, and this is seen when Betty is inside of GOLB. The wish allows her to become one with GOLB to protect Simon, but any wish to wish GOLB to not exist does not work at all. If we do follow the theory you present then that might mean GOLB is Jake's opposite. For it seems that Jake would create; while at the same time GOLB would be the destroyer. This then would lead to Jake not being omnipotent in the Adventure Time multiverse, as some how they would need to combine into one entity for Jake/GOLB to become omnipotent. But this is a theory just like the theories you are presenting.

      @HeadCasey  Год назад

      There is no proof to that theory.
      The most likely answer to the Pahoy Portal is what Booko said about roaming portals that link up random worlds from time to time, because the Pillow People themselves explain the portal in that way.
      The whole "knife storms make imagination real so they dreamed up the pillow world" theory is just that, a theory.
      We don't have enough evidence of knife storms to prove anything about them, and the idea that Finn and Jake casually invent entire world's is a real stretch when countless world's already exist and Finn and Jake fairly often find portals into them 😅

    Prismo is such an easy character to explain, he is just a plot device, he moves the story along and is used as a way to connect things, that’s all, it’s not complicated, he is powerful because he needs to be in order to make the cartoon make sense, his boss is the Pendleton, the creator. He is in a sense a true extra dimensional being,

    • @HeadCasey
      @HeadCasey  Год назад +6

      Except that doesn't explain anything in the lore.
      It doesn't explain why before Time (remembering that Prismo himself, is time) there was monsters.
      It doesn't explain why Prismos infinite cosmic powers suddenly got dampened in Farmworld, but they suddenly kicked in again the second that the Maid defeated Lich-Jake.
      And it certainly doesn't explain why Prismo casually allowed Lich to wish away all life in all realities, then casually allowed Finn to wish up a new reality that literally breaks the Multiverse, yet Prismo puts his foot down hard on letting Jake wish for a sandwich.
      Prismo goes out of his way to force Jake to make the exact wish required to cause the Jake-Prismo time loop in the first place. (And Save Finn, Restore All Life/Worlds and preserve most of the timelines)
      Perhaps if things seem "easy" to you, then you missed the mysteries and issues entirely 🤷‍♀️

      Interesting thought, but it doesn't quite hold up due to the rest of Jake's philosophy. See there are several times when Jake explains that he refuses to stretch out of every problem, because having problems and finding the way to overcome them is part of what makes life worth living. One time he wouldn't even stretch to get a cornchip out of his teeth when it was annoying him endlessly.
      If Jake's motives are preset by Alien Dad, then his goal should be to stretch all the time, as much as possible (as that's the type of kid that would benefit the Dad the most) but by that logic Jake is one of his laziest kids.

    If before time, before there was anything, there were monsters... and Jake is just keeping himself from being a monster... then maybe Jake was a Monster before he became Jake.

    I think the only major problem with this theory is that most of the evidence is shown during season 1-3, when the show definitely did not have most of its story figured out. And at the point the show made much less sense and it didnt stick to predetermined rules of that universe.
    Still a fun video tho! Keep them theories coming!!

      Seasons 1-3 are still canon though, they happened and get plenty of references in the later stages of the show so to ignore them entirely seems... shortsighted

    So basically Jake has a Niko Niko fruit from one piece, and thinks he is just stretchy, is he an adventure time's Luffy or is Luffy one piece's Jake?
