- Christian Carino, a Hollywood agent who once represented both Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, testified in the former couple's defamation trial about his relationship with each of them. Carino said that after Heard had filed a temporary restraining order against Depp alleging abuse, she still wanted to reconcile with him and had Carino help arrange a meeting with the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor in San Francisco.

One can immediately ascertain that it is Johnny Depp's lawyer questioning this man. The lawyer is courteous and stays on track, he asks pertinent questions but doesn't keep repeating the same questions over and over like Heard's team.

I think people may be reading too much into a standard practice in legal proceedings: Johnny's lawyers sound courteous because it is their turn to call in witnesses. This set of questions has been prepared ahead of time, and they have selected this person to testify as part of their case. There is no reason for them to be unfriendly. When Johnny's lawyers question a witness they've selected, it is called "direct examination." Amber's lawyers will also be allowed to question the same witness, in order to cast doubt on the credibility of their testimony. This is called "cross examination." This is why they take a combative tone and seem like they are "out to get" them. Later on, when Amber's team makes her case, Johnny's team will also get the chance to cross examine her witnesses, so we will get to see a more critical side of them soon.

@@ch-gh3bd I'm fairly sure that most adults know how court proceeds. The problem is that neither set of lawyers should have any sort of attitude or combative tone while questioning a witness whether they called them or the other side did because they should have no personal feelings about the case. It is fairly obvious that Amber's attorneys do quite often have a tone, especially while questioning witnesses which have been called by the plaintiff's team.
As a victim of abuse I can tell you the LAST thing I ever wanted was to reconcile with my abuser!
EXACTLY. It's usually the abuser that finds it hard to let go, because they miss their punching bag. Elon was another target, but he's a genius and don't have time for foolishness never mind a grown woman throwing tantrums. Johnny is more delicate and caring, so he stuck around for a while and tried to work things out.
As someone who has several friends who were abused (Way too many out there). I can definitely say, they tried to reconcile on several occasions, despite my plea's that they don't. This is usually caused by gaslighting, and the fact that they believe they can't do better, or that they deserve it.
Note: My statement is NOT saying that Amber was abused.
From my experiences with an abusive man for 8 years. I kept running back thinking I could change him. 8 years of my life wasted, but I was also 17 when I got into that relationship and I also had 3 children with him

I have successful adult sons and yes as a Mother, this Trick as well as Megan Markle ( another trick) are women I have had extended conversations with and warned my children about. Its obvious this woman never had good intentions for this relationship with Johnny Depp. He was targeted by Heard for what he could do for her career. And even though, he was committed to Vanessa and with children, he fell for her schemes which were overly sexualized to lure him in her web of deceit. It has been quite clear from the testimony in this case, particularly from Depp's own mouth that they were both abusive to each other because neither was meeting the others needs.

People like her make people with BPD look the worst. I've been dating a girl with diagnosed BPD for 4 years and it's the only relationship I've ever been in with 0 fights and almost no problems. It's the people with disorders that don't want to manage their symptoms that are the problem.
In fairness I'm not sure people are always aware that they have a disorder like that. It sort of requires an event or pattern of troubling behavior that leads to a visit to the psychiatrist and subsequent diagnosis. If the behavior isnt recognized and the person never sees a shrink, they could go their whole lives with the disorder not knowing, harming people forever. Even in this instance, I think Heard was diagnosed with this issue only after all of these trials and tribulations with Depp.

A friend of mine had DV alleged against him by his girlfriend at the time. She said he threatened her with a kitchen knife and from day one she was being caught out in lies. He was kicked out of the county for 2 months while the police looked to bring it to trial and forced to live on literally one of the most dangerous streets in the country. It never got that far as the prosecution dropped the case after she finally admitted she'd lied about the whole thing. During his arrest he had a sling for a recently dislocated shoulder and the police redislocated it while cuffing him although he cooperated fully. His life had been ruined and she barely got a slap on the wrist. Their entire relationship mirrored this exactly and second he was back she was trying to wrap her legs around him. Look out folks.
Tell you friend to stop dating above the crazy woman line on the graph....I am a woman and have seen that graph. I disagree with the attractiveness part but the crazy part is correct. People like Elle McPherson is much more stunning than Amber and Elle is certainly not crazy.

In my experience with people though, (my family and friends), they never listen to us do they, they just love those crazy people.
It drains us their friends having to listen to both sides go on and on about each other.
I felt it as their staff and friends testify - they are fed up of this whole matter - it has been about 6-8 years or more and these people have to drop everything to come to court or make themselves available for court. No wonder all look fed up, bored, had enough, distracted. I have warned my friends about their partners, should they not listen, that means they do not respect my advise and as time goes by I stop listening to them.
My ex husband dealt with this too. When he finally left her, and started dating me she tried to accuse him of attacking her and trying to strangle her. I happened to be in the car and had eyes on him the entire time he had stopped to speak with her when she accused him. I was amazed how the police still just took her at her word and made his life hell for almost a year before he got the charges dropped. She never had any repricussions for her actions.

You know what is also very scary, the fact that if Amber married someone else and did this to a person who may not be as calm and introverted as JD then it may have been seen believable, Or someone less high profile (but i doubt she would go for someone who isn't a 'high profile' celeb).
We can all speculate what could have been but the truth is we will never know. My personal speculation would be that perhaps the relationship wouldn’t have gotten so bad if they were each with someone else. Still both pretty dysfunctional. These two are clearly bad for each other. Her with her abandonment issues (fear of it) and histrionics and him with his tendency to flee from confrontation/ abandon and need to cover pain with drugs and alcohol. These two are both a hot mess. Her, I believe she has a personality disorder and him, with his substance abuse issues stemmed from his abusive childhood. They both need counseling. They would both could benefit from it and probably should go through some counseling before considering dating again. I wouldn’t want to date either of them but I do have sympathy for both.

Trying to understand a BPD as a puzzle 🧩 will turn your mad in of itself. You simply cannot apply objective standards to their very disorganised state of mind.
Fortunately for this planet, my ex had a number of other conditions that meant that she is largely non functional, and definitely unemployable despite regular offers or modelling work. Cannot do the simplest of things without co opting someone else’s energy and time.

Heard was in a relationship with photographer Tasya van Ree from 2008 to 2012. In 2009, Heard was arrested in Washington for misdemeanor domestic violence, after allegedly grabbing van Ree and hitting her arm, but was never charged.
She spent the night in jail and was released because of being an out of state resident the charges were not dismissed

An agent doesn’t want to be deposed because it could affect client & professional relations with others. No one wants to fear their agent & friend outing their life. Furthermore, it could open up other institutions to lawsuits or breach of contract if he says the wrong thing. That’s most likely why he seems so disinterested in participating, and has his lawyer present.

Part of Ambers's problem I read is that she was raised Catholic in conservative Texas. When she was a teen her friend died in a car wreck and then she flipped out and turned atheist. Later, turned bi-sexual. Then she has lots of unresolved daddy issues. According to the therapist in the first couple of days of this trial, she said Amber hits people because she doesn't feel respected.Amongst her mental health issues she seems to have spiritual problems.

Unfortunately Johnny never filed reports or pressed charges, and there is a statute of limitations on how long you can wait before you file charges for specific crimes. Gender has no bearing on that part of it, and if the roles were exactly reversed the outcome would indeed be the same.

There unfortunately are very few crimes that don’t hold a statute of limitations and unfortunately DV isn’t one of them. It varies state to a state, but you have to file within 3 yrs of the incident in CA and 2 yrs in New York. So unless she does it again to someone else, she will not see jail time for her actions.
I honestly am very fearful for her daughter. Being raised by someone with an unchecked severe personality disorder can be a nightmare…

But it is well known that survivors of abuse struggle to leave their abusers because they are trauma bonded.
Many women, and I'm sure men, return to their abusers despite running go shelters, having lawyers and police involved, restraining orders, etc.
Abusers and their victims are trauma bonded. The intermittent reinenforcement of affection and abuse in abusive relationships creates a stronger bond, and chemical addiction in the brain, to the partner despite the abuse than a healthy relationship.
On average it takes a victim 7 tries to leave and actually not return.
That's a well documented statistic you can look up.
I'm not saying this in defense of Amber. I'm saying this so that people don't start misunderstanding victims of abuse that do return, etc.
It's a very real well documented unfortunate documented phenomenon.

In fact it falls right in line with the symptom known as splitting. He mentioned wanting a divorce, she proceeded to file for divorce and a restraining order and began making claims on the alleged abuse. Then she began to feel remorse after that feeling passed and missed him and tried to get him back. I absolutely understand the statistic you're speaking of, but unfortunately that's not what this is. All of that being said, this is a common maladaptive behaviour that can occur with those mental illnesses/disorders. (I'd like to also point out that there are people with these diagnoses that are trying their hardest not to act this way and the stigma against them can be the hardest part for them.) I feel for her when it comes to her personal struggle, but the actions, and words she has thrown about were a choice. Violence, manipulation and lies were a choice.

I would say it isn't indicative of splitting. I dated a man with BPD. They never let it actually get to the point of there being an actual break in the relationship unless they're in the final discard phase (in which case they have a new supply and don't return).
It's always done in a controlled manipulative way (not with intention of actually leaving) and they experience real panic when they realize they're partner may actually leave. And then beg and grovel and love bomb them into staying.
They act like this because they have a fearful avoidant attachment style from severe abuse in childhood where the parent was inconsistent with loving them. They learned their parents were not safe but still needed them to survive. So they crave closeness but also fear engulfment from the closeness.
It makes it impossible to get close to them because once you start achieving real emotional intimacy their fear of engulfment kicks in, they pick or start some crazy fight to push you away (literally will throw around leaving, pack their things up, etc) - this subconsciously makes them feel safe until their fear of abandonment kicks in and then they beg you to stay.
It's not uncommon for someone with BPD to "leave" their partner multiple times - like 50+ - because most of the time it's just a verbal threat or 2-3 days silent treatment.
They don't actually make concrete moves to end things like filing a restraining order because they don't actually want it to end.
It's a truly terrible disorder with no real treatment options and really horrible to be on the opposite end of.
So far I haven't seen evidence of that with this.
From the argument recordings it sounds like Depp threw around leaving and Heard had a problem with that. Not the other way around.
After listening to most of the argument recordings I don't think Amber has BPD. I'm sure she scored high in cluster b personality traits (includes Narcissism, BPD, Histrionic, Antisocial, etc) but I think based on the argument recordings it's more likely she just falls further into the cluster B category (has a personality with narcissistic traits) than the average person.
It honestly just seems like a toxic relationship between a self absorbed woman and a man with a drinking problem.

I'm gonna take a diff kind of angle here. I am not shocked that Johnny depp found someone like amber. Look at the facts. Johnny himself grew up in violence and that exposure formed his pushed because this is what he knew. His behavior shows that escape mode he learned so well as a coping mech when his mom went postal 📫 on her own kids and dad stayed... he was passive and just like dad Johnny found a woman who was like mom and because he is so damaged himself is completely makes sense that he would fall for someone who is also damaged. I think Johnny's dad stayed a long time because they had 4 kids together. Johnny's mom was abusive and didn't have the tools to communicate with her husband and kids. Or maybe she had her own health issues or couldn't deal with her own stress and issues. However, I give her credit that she was working 2 or 3 waitress jobs to help make ends meet. I think Johnny's dad was an engineer but have to recheck that. Johhny's mom and dad seemed like they just ran out of steam and grew apart or couldn't make the hurdles. However, that was what many families did back then they stayed together for the kids. Johnny's dad said, "You're the man, now."Anytime is bad but at least Johnny and his siblings were almost grown. With Johnny being some 20 years older than Amber and Amber just flopping around with her friends partying, they had a different dynamic.
