I love Buddy Holly- been playing geetar since 1977 - Your videos are helping me learn him. Buddy Holly has a way of growing on you - As a kid, the crash stuff caused me to occasionally listen, as time passed I became addicted to his songs and personna and cleanness clean cut etc Good ole Americana was him
I agree with you completely. He’s one of the musicians who inspired me to want to play guitar when I was a kid. I learned a lot from playing his songs. I feel like he taught me in a way.
@@RocknRollSongbook :- I had forgotten about how to play many of these songs . ( and techniques ) you play and sing so effortlessly) i still have a good guitar but it is years since I have played it. Thanks so much for your recordings !
... I discovered Buddy Holly when I was a boy ... in the mid 70's ... it struck me that in a music magazine it was reported what the English newspapers wrote the day after his death, "the day the music died "I thought it was an exaggeration but now after almost fifty years I think on the contrary that they were right to sell !!! Buddy Holly as Eddie Cochran was a godsend ....
It was exactly the same for me. In the mid to late 1970s a Buddy Holly album called ‘20 Golden Greats’ was released over here in the UK. I loved it straight away. Buddy has always been very popular here. I learned guitar by playing his songs, so I feel like he taught me to play.
I’ve been trying to learn to play the guitar for the past 2 years. At the age of 71 years old it can be a bit challenging at times. However, your videos and your two Rock n Roll books have help to make this journey some much more fun and exciting !! Thank you so much for your time and effort it must take to produce these videos …. Your performances are so enjoyable and contagious. Please don’t ever stop. 👏👏👏😀
Great energy here... you so pulled me in on the spot... pure awesomeness ..... loving the ambience... thank you for this doze of positivity which was much needed... excellent performance 🙏🌹
Awesome medley Jez. Pretty much listen to one or more of those songs “Everyday” !!!! Great job covering them. Hope you are doing well. Your friend Todd.
Thanks very much! I'm playing a Taylor GS Mini-e (koa). I'm glad you like it. It's a great little guitar. A handy size for travelling around on trains and planes too.
Enjoying the coaching very much Jez, but playing the same chord patterns on a list of songs is sounding a bit monotone, I know this is to suit a certain voice range, but I'm now trying to play them in original chord keys. Apart from that, learnt a lot from you. Thanks.
Thanks. I’d suggest playing the songs in the keys that suit your singing range best. If the key of an original version suits your range then go for it. But there’s no point in singing in a key that doesn’t feel comfortable. Elvis, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran and Carl Perkins all transposed Little Richard songs when the covered them - Jez
I use .012 to .054 gauge Martin strings. Martin call them 'light', but from my experience they're a little heavier than most people seem to use on their acoustic guitars.
Great medley! Thanks! You have internalized Buddy .
Thanks very much! I’ve been listening to Buddy’s music all my life 😃👍
Просто Красавчик! Спасибо за Ваше творчество!!! Круто!❤
Большое спасибо Александр!
Outstanding playing. Always look forward to seeing you play, keep it up
Thanks very much Emelyn!

A great come back of Lady Taylor for this wonderful medley, great Jez!!!!! Is Buddy still beloved in England?
Thanks very much Oliver! Yes, Buddy is still very popular here.
I am glad about this, it's sad that in Italy very few people remember Holly
Enjoying the video's Jez, tell me what model Taylor is your guitar I like the look and sound of it.....
Thanks very much! I'm playing a Taylor GS Mini-e (koa). I'm glad you like it. It's a great little guitar. A handy size for travelling around on trains and planes too.

it would be possible to ask you to do a tutorial for Good luck Charm?
Thanks very much Jacques!

Magnifique ! Pouvez-vous faire un avec Ritchie Valence?
Merci beaucoup!
Can you do this same thing on a stratocaster for me?
Yes, I should do that.
Christ he was good!!!
I was wondering do you use light or medium gauge strings? Thanks
I use .012 to .054 gauge Martin strings. Martin call them 'light', but from my experience they're a little heavier than most people seem to use on their acoustic guitars.
