I engrave a lot of keychains and things, I usually use a lint roller or painters' tape to remove the debris off the acrylic blank before removing it from the mat, it also saves from getting more debris on the mat. pro tip: put self-adhesive laminating sheets down sticky side up on a new strong grip mat to save the mat from getting destroyed over time.. if too much debris gets on the mat, I just change the laminating sheets instead of buying new mats.
Thank you! I am engraving acrylic night lights for the kids for Christmas. I have followed you for years and love how you teach, figure out how to do things the easy way, give us hacks, etc. This is by far my most satisfying crafting project! Thank you again for figuring it all out and sharing the techniques with us.
I just want to say thank you for this information. I am doing things to put on the tables at our church and was needing my verses on prayer to be filled in so the older ladies with bad eyes could read them. I am so excited that I can do this. I'm always learning something new from Jennifer. God bless.
You are amazing, Jennifer. You do the testing so we don’t have to … and your instructional tutorials are so helpful. Thank you for all you do to help us step up our games!
Whenever I want to start a project I always first watch your video about it! I just successfully engraved my first acrylic blank using your genius FILL DESIGN LINES. I am so engraving every blank I have!! Thank you Jennifer xxx
Jennifer!! You're just saved me a headache LOL....I've been wanting to know how to engrave and you're always the first I visit for help! Thank you so so much!! You're one of those teachers we adore and will always cherish your patience and step by step instructions!! Thank you again!! :)
Quite brilliant! Instead creating a lined or cross-hatch pattern each time we need it, you created that on a separate layer that can be used over and over again on different designs; simply genius! Thank you!
Thank you sooooo much for this. I overshot my knowledge on acrylic engraving and how it would turn out. Needless to say I was left with something that wasnt what I expected. I needed a quick last min gift for my boss and thanks to this video, your tutorial I was able to make something fast but nice. Easy to follow and your breakdown is superb. Thank you again.
I bought the foil transfer kit but have not yet opened it. But with this detailed step by step video I’m going to do this project. Thanks @Jennifermaker
Your instructional ideas are perfect! The first time I skipped to the draw section and didn’t understand how I could use this for any project. I watched it again from the beginning and it made perfect sense. I bought the wrong card stock but used it anyway to test if I did it correctly and I did! All thanks to your thorough yet simple to follow instructions. Now to try it on my own project!
So glad that you will have this video available later. These are great techniques but I am getting my maker 3 for Christmas and it will probably be awhile before I am ready to try this. Everything looks so great! Thanks, Jennifer!
Loved this video!! It was so timely as yesterday I tried my very first engraving and just did the outline. I was unable to watch at noon yesterday so imagine my surprise when I got my notification with the video description that the video was about filling in writing for engraving. Super excited to try your technique since some others have seemed so complicated that I was afraid to try them. Thanks for all you do for us crafters.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your video!! I am now making cards for my school to give away during celebrations and loss. This video helped me tremendously!!
This is an amazing idea & of course our genius figured it out. Thank you so much Jennifer for all the years you have inspired us & taught so much. You are loved by your doll followers & we appreciate you! Merry Christmas to you & your family from my group in Texas!
Jennifer, you are the best! I added to my amazon cart these led acrylic light but honestly...never had the courage to engrave it, fearing mistakes and loss of material/money. Now I'll buy them! 😍 thank you so much, you're always a precious resource ❤
I am beyond ecstatic. I thought I was going to have to just deal with those open letters or color them in by hand. Can’t wait to start using this technique!
This is really a great help! No more just outlined letters, Wonderful. Thank you so much. I like engraving also the acrylic disk but they didn't stand out like this does,! I will replay the video while I am trying to make them again so I don't forget to do it all the right way. Again Thanks so much for your help
I have engraved several acrylic disks for Christmas gifts, I love the process! I have found that adding a second blank disk to the slot in the base keeps the disk from tipping to front or back.
I did find the Testors Enamel paints at my local Hobby Lobby in the model car section of the store and the rubs were in the other paint section. thank you for the tutorial.
So I was trying to make a card last last night and I wanted the happy birthday to be with embossing powder. Well I don’t know if you’ve tried it or not but following the foiling steps you can actually fill in letters with your embossing pen. It worked great!
@@JenniferMaker I figured I’d share just an idea for another video if you had wanted to. Sometimes titling differently or different tags will pull up results in more searches. It would be a simple video just using what you already have and just switching the materials over to an embossing pen. You provide a lot of free tools for all of us so I always make sure I watch all your adds and videos lol
Thanks very much! Question: If you are using the fill technique on metal, do you still need to attach multiple copies of the design in order to make multiple passes with the engraving tip of your Cricut?
Thank you so much for your videos. I am a new cricut user. I have watched other videos, just to get so frustrated. You make everything so clear and easy to understand. I watch your videos once to see how it is done, then I go back and take notes. You are the best. I do have a question? Can you use cricut foil to fill in something you engraved?
Hi Jennifer, Thank you for this tutorial! You are amazing. Out of curiosity, have you tried using a 5" acrylic round disc for the night light base that you have? Just wondering if it would still stand. Thank you!
@@JenniferMaker Thank you. For the past week, I've been using your engraving fill in svg and it was work great! All of a sudden, it's no longer engraving properly as the lines are so spaced out. Did something change with design space? Not sure what's going on but my engraving projects aren't coming out nicely anymore. Any help would be fabulous! Thanks again!

What a great share! I buy soooo many mats bc I can’t stand dirty mats!

Appreciate it ! (this might b a repost). The odor of some of the colors. More importantly when using a sealer used in a ventilated area.
Thank you for giving me the courage to try new things!
Thank you for doing this tutorial! I am out of practice, I have not been able to work on my Cricut for a while, so this really helps!
