The Huntsman is a great SAK. Lots of great tools on it. The end of the can opener makes a great 2D Phillips driver as long as the screw is not recessed. The Victorinox wood saw punches way above its weight - I've used it to saw through branches around the thickness of my forearm, branches I definitely could NOT have broken with just my hands. And the corkscrew, like the hook, has a lot of creative uses far above and beyond opening a bottle of wine! And of course, you get the usual excellent Victorinox quality construction too.
A very versatile knife limited only by your imagination. At this price I feel it's the best bang for your buck SAK out there. Welcome to the channel, Marlowe.
Yep, I have the Rambler with the Firefly steel instead of toothpick for everyday carry, the Huntsman with the same steel plus corkscrew tinder and glasses screwdriver for hiking and camping.
That's a good setup, Steve. The Firefly add ons are pretty cool, I may get some.
Hey John,
Love the Huntsman, bought my first one in the late 80’s, still going strong!
Fantastic selection of tools (although my 80’s one lacks the parcel hook)
That’s a fantastic Amazon deal!
Thanks brother 😎👍🏻
Very cool, Sean. Good to hear. Yep, the parcel hook was added later. Thanks.
Saw an awesome deal on Amazon for the huntsman and was debating on getting it. Watch your review and it cemented my decision and it’s coming in 6 days haha. Thanks for the informative review!
Glad I could help, Ninja.
Love my Huntsman, Fieldmaster and Ranger. Ranger is my fav but i put the huntsman in my pocket earlier today.
Great choices you have there, Charles. The Huntsman is a solid SAK.
1:30 "If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."🧐🤣
Yes, at least be useful. Thanks Alpine.
TK, great review and video as always! I really like the Huntsman! One of my favorites! Blessings to you my friend!
Thanks John Boy. They are a great deal. 29 bucks? Yes, please.
By far my favourite and most used outdoor victorinox, think I have five in total in various vehicles and back packs.
Great choice Mikey. The toolset is a good one. Only gripe is the lack of the Phillips, but the Fieldmaster resolves this when I want to spend the money.
That's a killer deal! A great knife as well. Excellent video!
It's an absolute bargain. Thanks for the kind words, Randy.
It's one of my favourite edc knives and carry it almost always. I don't mind the thickness, not heavy in the pocket either. Still a lot of tool options in a small package. Thank you John.
Totally agree if you can past the thickness you're golden. Thanks for the comment, Jeroen.
Great video i got a huntsman for my birthday last year and i think I'm gonna carry it today
Great choice, Uriel. They are good value for money. Thanks!
An absolute bargain at that price! A SAK that fits everones needs as well! Awesome review John
Yes, they certainly are. Great toolset and a wonderful knife to throw in the camping bag while out squirrel hunting.
There is still something nice about the red cellidor handles. Thanks for sharing
Yes they relay the Swissness of the brand so well. Thanks, Seppie.
Love the Huntsman!
The Amazon deal is amazing.
Yes indeed, it'd be hard to spend 29 dollars more wisely. Thanks, Zen.
Thank you very much- A wonderful model has been with me for a long time - May the day smile at you Dear friend 🌲
Thanks very much for watching Ofer. Have a great day.
A great knife . When used within their capability \ limitations the tools will do
what they were designed to do . Quality , functionality and value .
Great review .
This one is an exceptional value. I'd recommend this one for anyone looking for a SAK. I appreciate the comment, Michael.
Excellent review of the Huntsman, it's a great SAK. I have it's sibling the Fieldmaster, which I like a lot as well. Thanks for sharing, take care my friend and Cheers!
Very cool, the Fieldmaster is a great one, Toad.
These are great knives, just pick one up. Thanks for sharing, Live Long Prosper and Collect Your Own Way!
Thanks so much Stan.
Great video Thrifty. The Huntsman is one of my favourite SAKs. The US Amazon price is crazy cheap. It's £33 in UK! I think it would make a great camping knife too if you add one of the ferro rods to replace the toothpick - or to fit on the corckscrew.
Yes those firestarter add ons are very cool, indeed. Definitely something I'd like to further explore. Thanks, MB.
I carry the climber. I prefer a three layer, I can slip it in my pocket and just forget it until I need it. And it's got everything this one has minus the saw. And the saw just just something I don't need from day to day.
If I did want to go up to a four layer design I have my eye on the explorer. It also has everything this one has minus the saw, but instead it's got a magnifying glass (which seems like something I would never use) but more importantly it has the in line phillips head screw driver (which is something I could see coming in as pretty handy).
Thanks for you take on this, FreeLatveria. The Huntsman isn't my favorite model, but it sure is the best value for all you get.
Great knife with quality through the roof.
Yes, indeed Rick. Great value here.
The Huntsman, and it's phillips-toting twin the Fieldmaster, are my favorite patterns from Victorinox. One of those two knives is with me all the time, if not in my pocket then it's in my backpack that I carry with me to work. Those two knives have the most perfect tool set, IMO. Thanks for your thoughts on it, buddy!
That's awesome David, I'm happy to know you don't find it too chunky. A great option for the toolset. I'll have to pick up the Fieldmaster some day.
I prefer the fieldmaster.
Good stuff as always, brother!
I love that little screwdriver.
👊🏻
Yes, those are great to add to any of the SAKs including a corkscrew, especially if you use eyewear. Thanks, Tim.
Great knife have 7 of them 3 limited edition one black scales and 3 normal ones.
Wow Graham, nice collection. Thanks for watching.
The Huntsman is a great knife
Thanks Rydog. 👍
The Huntsman and the Camper have been for some reason a little cheaper than equivalent SAKs in this country for a while now if you shop around. I know the Campers with Camping and a tent on the scales weren't selling and have been discontinued now (ironically making them collectable). Have a Huntsman but stick to the Camper because I keep folding scissors in my first aid kit and the scales on my Camper (now collectable!) are already bashed about. If I was a broke kid just started an outdoors hobby a Hiker or Camper would be a better deal but everyone else a Huntsman or the equivalent with a Philips would be the best deal.
Victorinox pricing is very odd. Seems like there are certain popular models that are better discounted than others. The Huntsman vs. The Fieldmaster is a good example. One tool swapped Corkscrew/Phillips and the Fieldmaster is ~15 dollars more expensive. Thanks, JK.
Great looking knife! Nice tool set on that one 👍
A great number of features and layers for the price. It has to be the best value SAK on Amazon. Thanks for taking a look, Mike.
I have 3 classic, a ranger and just got a huntsman. Huntsman in black.
All fantastic, Tom. Love them SAKs.
That inlaid shield is great talk about detail
Yes they do a great job of milling out the opening as it lays so smooth.
My only wish is bright yellow or orange scales in case you drop it in the grass!!!!
They make a few Victorinox with the day-glo yellow handles. I can't recall off the top of my head which ones, but they are out there.
Victorinox. Yes.
👍Yessir.
У меня есть такой ножик, он самый лучший!!!💯
Рад, что вам понравилось
Deluxe tinker is best
Thanks for the comment arpandey,
It needs a magnifier lens.
Ahh you must like the Explorer. Check out that video I've done, Raul. Thanks, buddy.
Huntsman is not my favorite.
I am not a fan of none locking saw blade. I prefer the Mountaineer for a soft multitool.
Thanks Jeremy. I don't have a Mountaineer yet.
A big part of the reason why people in many parts of the world including some States in the US where it is legal to have locking blades and buy knives such as the Swiss Army knives like the one you are highlighting, is precisely because THEY HAVE NON LOCKING BLADES, as in, the have blades that do not lock up. Your constant SUGGESTIONS OTHERWISE that they have blades that lock up ARE INACCURATE. GOOD LUCK. Please do some research yourself and learn something about what you are talking about regarding locking blades.
You're misunderstanding. When I say "lockup" I'm referring to the blades walk n' talk authority. It's ability to positively snap into the open position and remain there during use. This knife has excellent slipjoint design and will not flimsily close with a light amount of pressure on the spine which makes such knives dangerous to use. I'm not implying in any way the blades have a locking mechanism which as you say make them illegal for carry in many places. I even make that clear in the description by stating the knife is UK Friendly.
@@ThriftyKaniffy try the "lock up" of alox Victorinox... Plus they are more thin.
The Huntsman sucks.
Its because of the wine cork tool.
FIELDMASTER is the best.
The Fieldmaster may be the better knife, but it's not the better value.
@@ThriftyKaniffy ...This is a true statement. The Huntsman is like 1/2 the price right now. Supply and demand. People, especially military, know which is better.
I served as a paratrooper in the 503rd PIR. I also served in Korea, Panama, and Saud/Kuwait/Iraq. I always had a SAK with me. And the FIELDMASTER is my most favorite of all of them, bar none.
IF...you wear eye glasses, get the HUNTSMAN, you can get the micro screwdriver that fits into the corkscrew to do repair work on the hinges. But for me, that corkscrew is utterly useless.
I can't see a thing without my glasses. So to repair my eye glasses with the micro screwdriver i need a second pair of glasses to see what i'm doing. 🤣
Maybe it's because you don't drink wine 😄 but yes i understand your statement it's don't call the Fieldmaster for nothing and same for the Huntsman, Swiss or French hunter always drink wine !
That’s a sick ass intro, truly it’s pretty awesome. I think it can be tweaked to perfection but nonetheless very unique and creative 🫱🏼🫲🏽
Glad you like it, Uptown.
