    I bought my first Swiss Champ in 1984 and it’s been in my pocket ever since. I’ve used victorinox lifetime warranty twice just to have the sides replaced and every time it came back like new and free of charge, they even pay for me to send it to them.
    I have given away at least five of them to my wife, children and other family members and I recently bought a second one as a backup spare!!! The Swiss champ is the ultimate Victorinox!!!

    Hi guys👋🏼 My dad is Italian and he had one of these when I was growing up as a kid! I always wanted one! I’ve had the very small ones on key-rings and used them so much for all sorts of occasions! Happily, my husband just bought me a White Swiss Champ! I have it on me everyday and it comes in so handy as I do my housework or pottering around the house or in the garden! I’ve had it less than a week and yet it’s already been used several times a day for jobs around the house! It looks stunning and is every bit as great as I’d imagined it would be! 😊 Even girls love a Swiss Army knife!! 👍🏼 Lisa x

    Don't dismiss the fish scaler! It is fantastic for cutting thru cardboard boxes and styrofoam. When doing woodwork, It makes an excellent depth guage and I've also used it as an angle guage. The tip of it can also be used for holding small nails/tacks when hammering them in. Also a good staple remover. It's one of my most used tools, and I don't even fish! 😃

    Dad bought us Swiss Army knives for Christmas one year and it was my favorite gift. I forget which model but I just felt good that he trusted me to own a knife. Few years later our house was burglarized and they took a lot of stuff, including my knife. Years went by and my dad died but for one of my birthdays my brother gifted me this Swisschamp, to replace the one I’d lost. So it has a lot of sentimental value for me but its also a great SAK. It took me about 10 years to realize it has that little pin hidden in there lol

    The Swiss Champ was the original "best bang for the buck" of the Victorinox line when I first started camping. I have several now but the original is in the "SOS" kit which I bought nearly 40 years ago. I had it refurbished by Victorinox a few years back. Other models with more features (some ridiculously so) have been released but the Swiss Champ always struck me as the point where practicality and cost, met up. The Swiss Champ is just the Handyman with 3 extra tools: [fish scaler/hook disgorger/ruler], magnifying glass & phillips screwdriver. Unless you clean fish scales, need a very strong phillips screwdriver, or a magnifying glass to read small print, the Swiss Champ is overkill.
    The Handyman's can opener has a flat phillips screwdriver which works well enough, & the small flathead screwdriver fits a lot of phillips screws. The plyers can be used to disgorge fish hooks.
    The 6 layer Swiss Champ is too think, & the Handyman is pushing it as far a thickness at 5 layers.
    If you can live without plyers, the Ranger has all the tools that the Handyman does, & is the maximum comfortable thickness at 4 layers, & cost about $50, 55% less than the Swiss Champ ($110), & 40% less than the Ranger ($85).
    I prefer my SAKS to have a corkscrew, which is an excellent staple remover from wood, & can hold Victorinox corkscrew tools (tiny flat or philipps scredriver, tiny hex, or tiny poker) & tinder for a ferro rod, or paper clips &/or safety pins. I also open corked bottles occasionally.

      @Daves_Man_Cave  9 месяцев назад +1

      I could do without the fish scaler, but I love having the saw, the metal file, scissors and all that stuff. I actually use the magnifying glass a good bit...
      I often carry the Leatherman Arc, or the Swisstools MX... Both are fairly large. What I would really love is a Farmer X Alox, with an added Phillips and metal file...
      On my SwissChamp, I do have one of those ferro rods stored in the cork screw.

    Had this same concern. From the DTinker.... went to Champ. I grew up with it thinking it was too big. Now being an Adult, it's amazingly small to have most, if not all the tools I need.

    Ok you need an explorer with plus scales
    A ranger with plus scales it is a huntsman with a nail file/saw
    And a Swiss champ with plus scales
    And outrider I prefer the Japanese model

    Was so excited to see this video buuuuut...I couldn't get past the first 2min because of the swearing. Sorry man - was really looking forward to this but maybe consider there are viewers who are super excited to hear your experiences minus the intense words. It appears from the comments/commenters you like it so that's good to know as I'm shopping for one now. Hopefully I will run across your channel again in the future brother!

    The thing About the swiss champ is it is a must buy if you collect them you may not use it because of its size or weight but it is the iconic model that has been around for years despite the fact that models like the ranger or huntsman offer most of the tools that the champ does while being half the weight

    • @Daves_Man_Cave
      @Daves_Man_Cave  Год назад +3

      See, I actually do carry it in my pocket. I don't mind the weight. When you are used to carrying a gun and spare ammo, a knife that size doesn't seem all that big or heavy. Right now my main EDC is the new Leatherman Arc, which is bigger and heavier than the SwissChamp,
