Next video: how to use a Swiss Army Knife, some discarded cans, and an old shoe string to make an entire 3D printer in the woods. I love your work, Felix!
All of those were absolutely genius! I think this is definitely one of your best videos, and I really enjoyed watching it! Thanks so much for the video,! my friend
Hello James.Thank you so much for your wonderful compliment! Just one hour before i was on your channel. One video had the beginning and end in black and white. What a great idea! Greetings from my Family.
Too much at one time. I'm a retired firefighter. Um, and genius IQ paramedic. 😅 I need to put you in for Alfred Nobel prize of some kind. Or have Switzerland renamed to "Felix Immler Land". I'm buying some of your books and gifting them with Victorinox Swiss Army Knives this Christmas to nephews. Maybe my oldest niece as well. Merry Christmas!
@FelixImmler some of my sons and, now, grandsons know of you in a very good way. One son was a wilderness farm and experiment from your books I gave them two years ago.
If you want to print more stuff for your swiss army knife I suggest printing the parts in petg. It is UV resistant which makes it better for outdoor use and has way better layer adhesion in my opinion which leads to a smaller chance of your scales breaking mid trip.
Maybe yes, but regular transparent PLA holds just still fine for about 10 years already on my Tinker, that I gave to my son. Cracks would be easily visible due its transparent nature if there were any, but it is almost in perfect condition. It was carried daily and used a lot, dropped on the floor many times.
I just got a 3d printer 2 weeks ago and already printed a lot of junk :) I then was wondering what magic could happen if Felix had a 3d printer. Now I’m here ❤
Awesome vid brother the possibilitys are almost endless me being a SAK-aholic you gave me the fix I needed, thanks brother and you and your family have a blessed holiday
What a nice content!!! My favorite purchase of this year was a A1 Mini with AMS! And never thought of printing things for my Sak, guess I’ll start the printing right now!!!
Good advice, especially the bit about the mitts. So many people just toss their mitts around, but once you get any snow in them, ugh. Good stuff Johnny!
victorinox has not produced so many developments in the last 30 years! All my appreciation! You deserve to be hired as a leading development engineer in the company!
Felix Every time I watch one of your videos it makes me feel better, your upbeat and happiness. Long time owner of many Swiss army knives. Makes me think about the good times I had in Germany and traveling around in Europe. Mary Christmas to you and family.
I started watching YT because of the maker/crafter videos and outdoor hiking/camping/bushcrafting content. I was lucky to find your channel shortly after you started posting videos - great ideas and projects. Thank you for what you do! Merry Christmas!
Well, that's what I call deep passion and dedication to what is most trivial for most people, but obviously makes you very happy. I can deeply see it in your face. That makes me in turn happy to see that. Best wishes from Germany Mr. Immler. Keep on inventing ❤
Hello, Felix, If you ever find the files to print 84mm "plus" scales, could you post them to us? I've been looking for them for over a month and just cannot find. I'll end up cutting a slot, like you showed us no the 91mmm, but 3d-printed scales are much nicer!
These printers opened a whole lot of possibilities, They look easy to use ,some great ideas out there for sure, like the fire steel handle was pretty neat. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, thanks for researching and making these very cool, creative projects. Cheers to all the designers of each design shared. I also love all your own creative projects and videos. Take care
Nice video showing all the ideas I think. About 10 years ago I printed such "plus" scales for my Tinker. It was a perfect fit and they didn't crack to this day. I gave that Tinker to my son. Now I have to print some scales for my Handyman, scales are cracking and falling off, I don't even know why they have cracked. PLA seems to be more impact resistant than the original ones. Maybe this time version with LED. Other projects are also cool
Cool video! Swiss Army knife mods are truly useful, and the possibilities are endless. I'm also happy to appear at the beginning of the video, even though my mod didn’t make it to the final list. It had a few flaws and definitely needs some improvements.
Always good to watch your channel Felix, and some very interesting ideas even though I don’t own a 3D printer. I’m glad to see your injury has healed up well, but it looks like a nasty accident you had there. Thanks for all your hard work on our behalf! Les 🇬🇧
Thank you, Felix. I very much appreciate your list of SAK prints. I do own a couple of 3D printers that can print the resolution that your ruler scale needs, as well as a multicolour printer that can make those scales much easier to read. Still, if that A1 printer allows for it, I suggest that you use PETG for those scales. They will last much longer than PLA.
Heyyy Felix long time sub here. I think this was an amazing video idea. It's kinda crazy to see how a little imagination and a 3d printer can not only customize, but also truly enhance an sak. Would love to see a part 2 if you're up for it.
Hey I made projects 11, 13, and 14. For the ruler you need a 0.2 nozzle but they're only about 15$ or so from bambu. The standard 0.4 nozzle is too big for good results. Also made a whistle flashlight kit for sale on etsy. Long time fan of the channel. Thanks for sharing these.
I designed the most popular in the 21st century. I didn’t imagine anything being more important, even that I was a major influence on the multi toon selection for the CAF. One feature taken from my design used on larger sa knives was pachmyer in the handle. 3d printing custom handles to utilize unused space, which add texture, is brilliant. There’s a fine line when you midis well buy a multi tool.
Well done Felix. May I suggest, project 7 can easily become a whistle as well as a fire rod case (as long as you blow side ways and the remnants of fire rod are NOT harmful).
Great video!! A solution for a ruler might be simply using clear transparent printable paper... and simply printing a ruler a sticking it to the plastic scale. Something like Avery Printable Sticker Paper.
That was so cool. great ideas. I wonder, can you paint those items and which paint would work best and last a long time? spray paints? something to consider.
Excellent ideas. One suggestion: you can join all three sharpening jigs in one 6-7 inches big (for those who have both, diamond and stone Victorinox sharpeners). You can do it in any 3D software and print it, or simply glue those three you made together. 3 in 1!
Oh, wow! Those are great, Felix! I just burned through by first 1kg roll of filament printing mods for my Bambu Labs A1! Thanks for giving me more ideas! 😁
I used to live in a town whose library had several printers available to the public. After watching this video, I wish my current library had the same capability.

Hello Mr Immler. Thank you a lot for sharing your researches. I am interested in the sharpening guide for the Victorinox corundum sharpener, but I will still have a problem : mine is grimy, clopgged up with dark "dirt", and I don't know how to clean it . Can you give me some advices ?

Very nice and interesting video. Now I'll ask my friends if they have a 3D printer 😁
Or build a Pacific Rim Jaeger out of a box of scraps!
😂
Only one man could do that - and that person is Angus MacGyver.
Well ... two, if you count Chuck Norris as a mere man.

I store a sweing needle wrapped in a bit of yarn below the hook! That works great and it has never fallen out. You can get it out with the tweezers.
The video style with the time lapse was a work of art, thanks Felix!
