    David, Ford certainly took a lot of time to get the Bronco back in production. Their market analysis determined it was worthwhile to offer 2 and 4 door models as well as automatic and manual transmissions across a wide price range. I wonder if this will inspire Toyota to do the same. 🤔

    The bronco is more capable offroad and Toyota no longer has the reliability badge. Their vehicles have just as much problems as their competitors

      This ^! For the price of a top line LandCruiser I would get the GX550 Overtrail also.

    I much prefer the drive-train in Toyota's 95% of the time, but the form factor of the Bronco is hard to beat.
    Sadly, you can't always have your cake and eat it too unless you build something from scratch it feels like.
    Also for the record, Im a sucker for the nostalgic Landcruiser-ness that is the Landcruiser.

    David, you really brought home an important point: the Land Cruiser 250 doesn’t really have an offroad package. Yes, they’ve included a rear locker and swaybar disconnect, but they limited the ground clearance, and once again require owners to modify a vehicle that should come stock in a high clearance version. We’ll see how the new 4Runner shakes out.

      Fun fact: The engineers at Toyota and Lexus used an optimal ride height, for maximum articulation and suspension travel, for optimal off road performance. It is why the Lexus GX 550 Overtrail model was also not lifted higher than other models on the GX550 lineup. Lifts and bigger tires reduce suspension travel and articulation, which leads to reduced off road performance, due to reduced traction from wheel lifting. Given how off road capable even the base Land Cruiser is, and the offroad technology they all have, i'm not sure what more you need Toyota to pile on, to be considered "offroad package" lol. They are all offroad capable and top models have Toyota's best offroad features

      @@lunamaria1048 Fun Fact - Toyota added a 1" lift to the 2025 GX Overtrail. So...hmmm

    • @AndrewMcDonald
      @AndrewMcDonald 16 часов назад

      @@lunamaria1048 Fun fact #2 - you've obviously watched a lot of RUclips videos, but never actually been offroad when low ground clearance causes the vehicle to get hung up on ground obstacles. Toyota could have engineered the vehicle with more ground clearance - Jeep managed to do it in 2007 when the Wrangler shipped with 32" tires stock and 10" of ground clearance.

      @@AndrewMcDonald My father worked for Toyota for 17 years, and has always advised me in my choices when modifying my Toyota 4x4s for trail us, over the 14 years I have been driving. Toyota has 75 years of experience making the best 4x4s of all time. Also, during an expo, I had the chance to ask a Lexus GX550 engineer why the Overtrail was not lifted compared to other models, and he best explained to me, and I learned a lot from his answer. It is sitting at the optimal ride height to maximize suspension travel and articulation, which is needed to help keep tires on the ground, to maintain the best traction. The LC is built to be marketed to markets in Earth's most rugged, hostile regions, in Africa, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Only in North America are 3" lifts and 37"+ tires thought to increase performance of a midsized 4x4😊.

    • @AndrewMcDonald
      @AndrewMcDonald 13 часов назад

      @@lunamaria1048 Well, there's a big difference between someone's engineering explanations, and actual experience on the ground. Clearance is what gets you over obstacles, suspension travel helps you maintain traction. I highly recommend you get yourself a 4x4 and experiment with various off-road terrain to learn more about the physical world. Good luck!

    I presume the LC is more in it's element on trails. It's appearance ain't so appealing on the freeway. The Lexus GX 550 does however appear striking in the city and highways and also probably more so off roading. Just waiting for the hybrid GX.

    I am sorry to break the heart of many land cruiser fans but in my opinion latest 300 and 250 land cruisers are a step backwards in terms of quality. I loved the 200 landcruiser with the V8 but now i would pick the Nissan Patrol in a heartbeat.
