If the woman becomes physical at that point you can drag her and lock her into a room somewhere. The Hotel Manager should've been, or should be fired ASAP, he automatically sided with her without hesitation and then he, nor the Hotel didn't apologize for his part in the incident but they waited until they were getting bashed on social media and offered an apology there but still haven't apologize to their guest face to face, who was still staying at the Hotel.
The hotel manager handle the situation poorly. He took her side immediately even though the child and his father were no where near her. The report stated that the manager later called 911 but he still did not manage the incident properly. This poor child and his father could have been arrested an possibly harmed by officers due to the actions of this woman.
I hope they sue her in civil court. (I also hope she has criminal charges. But at least in civil court they could get some damages from the woman herself.)
For physically attacking a child, she needs to be in prison for child abuse. Now had the father punched her in the face, it wouldn't have been self- defense, it would have been PD shot him dead for attacking her. Our "Honorable" judges have no honor, so if they didn't kill him, he would have caught a very lengthy charge.

She even said he put a new case on the phone and for him to take it off. She was thinking very well. The phone was returned to the hotel by an uber driver later that day. i was pointed out at h & m. when i was younger... a lady thought i skipped a long line... i had been waiting in the line for ever and it started to split into two this lady picked me out of everyone to yell at for skipping and everyone in front of me were upset for me but took a while to defend me.. so i started asking why she pulled me out of everyone . i was like, "is it because i am the tallest one here" she was even trying to get the workers to kick me out. people in front of me were so upset they all started offering to let me skip them... i just replied, " no, i have a right to be here. I did nothing wrong... if she wants to pull the cameras and look she can." the whole time the lady was patronizing me like i was an idiot. i stood my grown. But in my mind all i can think is, is this because im black, that she thought it was okay to approach me in the first place.. like my skin color makes my own well being less important... like im guilty by default because of it.

The manager could have "figured out what was going on" by handing the woman the front desk phone and telling her to dial her cell phone number. When this child's phone didn't ring, problem solved. Instead, the manager told the child to hand over his phone so they could look at it, even though this Karen had checked out of the hotel THREE DAYS AGO. You mean to tell me she had been missing her phone for 3 days, and it took her that whole time to come back to the hotel and check if she left it behind? The Arlo in SoHo deserves ALL of the bad publicity they're getting from this.
What if the phone was on silent mode? At that point calling the phone would be useless now wouldn't it. The manager was in an awkward damned if you do damned if you don't situation. If he takes the black peoples side and he restrained the woman now he's going to be under scrutiny for being a man and putting his hands on a woman, if he takes the woman's side to verify the phone, now he's under scrutiny for being complicit to racial profiling. He calls the police to get involved which is the right thing to do and I'll be damned people still think he's wrong. That manager was in a no win situation. We need more diversity in the judicial systems. 80% of our judges are old white men. These judges always profile us. We need diversity so this can stop.
Need more diversity with the * right mindframe* in the judicial system. Just cause someone's of a different ethnicity doesn't automatically mean they understand bias, racism or the system under which is used to oppress black and poor ppl.
That would take hundreds of years. We don't have that much time to give anymore. One can't "fix" a system designed against them. Separation is the ONLY solution.

If the woman becomes physical at that point you can drag her and lock her into a room somewhere. People may think that violates their rights or something but it is just placing someone under a citizen's arrest. Why people don't do this more often I don't know? The hotel manager handle the situation poorly. He took her side immediately even though the child and his father were no where near her. The report stated that the manager later called 911 but he still did not manage the incident properly. This poor child and his father could have been arrested an possibly harmed by officers due to the actions of this woman.

My son too, he's 15, 6'2'', 210 pounds and he has asperger's. He's well spoken but gets frustrated trying to explain things, especially under pressure. But he is the sweetest kiddo I know, and I'm genuinely scared for him.

i was pointed out at h & m. when i was younger... a lady thought i skipped a long line... i had been waiting in the line for ever and it started to split into two this lady picked me out of everyone to yell at for skipping and everyone in front of me were upset for me but took a while to defend me.. so i started asking why she pulled me out of everyone . i was like, "is it because i am the tallest one here" she was even trying to get the workers to kick me out. people in front of me were so upset they all started offering to let me skip them... i just replied, " no, i have a right to be here. I did nothing wrong... if she wants to pull the cameras and look she can." the whole time the lady was patronizing me like i was an idiot. i stood my grown. But in my mind all i can think is, is this because im black, that she thought it was okay to approach me in the first place.. like my skin color makes my own well being less important... like im guilty by default because of it.

The manager could have "figured out what was going on" by handing the woman the front desk phone and telling her to dial her cell phone number. When this child's phone didn't ring, problem solved. Instead, the manager told the child to hand over his phone so they could look at it, even though this Karen had checked out of the hotel THREE DAYS AGO. You mean to tell me she had been missing her phone for 3 days, and it took her that whole time to come back to the hotel and check if she left it behind?

What if the phone was on silent mode? At that point calling the phone would be useless now wouldn't it. The manager was in an awkward damned if you do damned if you don't situation. If he takes the black peoples side and he restrained the woman now he's going to be under scrutiny for being a man and putting his hands on a woman, if he takes the woman's side to verify the phone, now he's under scrutiny for being complicit to racial profiling. We need more diversity in the judicial systems. 80% of our judges are old white men. These judges always profile us. We need diversity so this can stop.
Need more diversity with the * right mindframe* in the judicial system. Just cause someone's of a different ethnicity doesn't automatically mean they understand bias, racism or the system under which is used to oppress black and poor ppl.
