What people don't understand is how just simply being arrested can destroy your life. If you don't have the money to post bail, you sit in jail. You can be fired from your job. Lots of communities have "booking logs" where your arrest is posted online and the next thing you know, your picture is being distributed around on Facebook and everyone decides you must be guilty because you were arrested. So I completely understand why someone would resist being placed in handcuffs, especially when that someone is completely innocent.

You know what I noticed about these incidents? Usually when the police are wrong, they don’t apologize and stop. By stopping they’re essentially admitting their guilty and their actions were unjustified. Instead they escalate the situation to a point where now they can argue “oh the suspect was resisting”, but their resistance was a function of their escalation. So instead of backing down, these police double down and make the situation violent. Lots of ego problems

@@HelloTardis I kind of agree with you about empathizing with the victim and focusing on the misjustice but the fact is that part of the reason this keeps happening is because they are not personally responsible , they dont care , they arent personally paying . Also the fact that billions has been spent paying for their continued "mistakes" means that numerous other areas and much needed things that would improve/help/benefit the community are not done , so essentially everyone has to do without because their money/taxes are being used to pay those "bills" . I guarantee if they knew that the first installment on the bill for their mistake would be paid for with their pension they would be far more aware of their actions , of the consequences , and would make far less "mistakes" .
@@HelloTardis You have a good point. But the sad fact in the real world is that some people do not care unless their finances or resources are effected. As long as someone else pays the cost for the error, the perpetrators feel no "weight" to their action. An apology is a cheap way of paying for something, it is only words. If the individual feels no actual pain for the action, it does not matter. Not every human has empathy. We like to think they do and we can weigh some moral repercussions on them, but it simply is not the case. Money and career opportunities are the way to punish those who feel no empathy for their fellow human beings if they break our "social contract". Its like rich people's kids. They can mess up a whole lot, and not care about the consequences, because someone else's checkbook will pay for the mistakes.

Responding to a domestic violence call, they decided that the abuser took a moment to take out trash in the midst of assaulting someone. That makes no sense.
sad thing is they'll just have taxpayers pay out for the damages and the officers, might lose their jobs or most likely get transferred to a new place. They just do what the catholic church does with problematic priests. Just move them around. Disgusting practices and we deserve much better from officers.
Not really. If the guy lives there and has finished slapping his bf/bf, the trash still needs to be taken out. I suppose you imagine domestic violence goes on for hours and hours with lots of screaming.

When video clears them, the police release it right away. But when it shows the officers in the wrong, they fight it forever.
It's terrifying how the cops can just roll up on a random citizen and assault them without even giving an explanation. Just imagine standing in your front yard when two cops walk up and start grabbing at you...

Why did it take 2 YEARS to upload a bodycam video? Did they use internet explorer or something?
That's a really bad idea. There should be a system where people could get access to the bodycam footage of their encounters with police but not what you proposed.
Here's a few reasons:
The personal info of every person the police encouner would be leaked to the public. (Driver license, full name, address, etc)
Police might be conducting sensitive activities ( surveillance, interviews, etc)
And the private info of the officers would be leaked. Putting them and their families in danger.

@@HelloTardis I kind of agree with you about empathizing with the victim and focusing on the misjustice but the fact is that part of the reason this keeps happening is because they are not personally responsible , they dont care , they arent personally paying .
