@@Ghosthound_X Yes, exactly. I agree with you. It's such a good moment that people sadly mock about the film. Simply just love listening to Zack as he always oozes passion for films and cinema. Love the whole “no compromise” section of the interview. How it should be…
The transition from The Michael Bay Transformer movies to the recent "Transformers One" trailer that was just release highlights the pattern that I see when Studios move away from Directors like Snyder to the Studio mandated movies. This happens again and again and again in different franchises. To be honest, a lot of online discourse was very negative about Michael Bay and Snyder and only in hindsight do we see there merits. Another thing about Bay and Snyder is that they really aren't "woke" either which is a criticism you hear about a lot of modern movies along with them just being completely devoid of creative inspiration. I am not saying there isn't a third option, but I will take a Bayformers or a Snyder film over a studio mandated movie any day of the week. Hollywood is always ok losing money as long as it isn't the director's fault. There is always risk involved with filmmaking. I would love it the studios started putting trust back in the director because at the end of the day at least we will have a movie that is sincere and has a real artistic vision even if it isn't popular.
Great interview, stellar questions. And this really confirms why we love Zack, it's not just the eternal kid at heart, but rebel is the right word. 300 made the most impact for me. I thought his Justice League was his magnum opus. Even if his other films aren’t as strong in story, his visuals are just amazing to look at and admire
I like Zack but we all need to try and tell him when he's making mistakes in movies or going to far ignoring the people who he makes the movies for just because he wants to do a idea that's different. Both Rebel Moons have flunked and the last one will to no matter what because there is no story and no characters we care about other than the single robot whos not even supposed to be one of the main 3 characters. I usually take up for what he does although this trilogy was missing to much and it made it boring and forgettable yet in his mind he thought that was part of the charm. That's not good.
We should make a live action movie based on under the red hood that gives a definitive answer to batman killing. Where instead of completely justifying himself, he admits that it would have been better if he kill his enemies in combat, but he was saving them out of fear that if any of them ended up dead, the public would turn against him. He's a vigilante, that hides his identity. It's easy to paint his as a villain, to give a real world example, kyle rittenhouse, almost went to jail for life when several people ended up dead. When he went to a riot with a gun and shot people to defend himself. In situations where cops have to kill people, a lot of the time the public lashes out at them. I guess you can kill if it's you or them, but it causes problems for you. You have to justify it. It'd better if you can avoid killing people you're aiming to stop. I think it was the plot of the spiderman movies that mysterio ended up dead and that's what happened the public turned on him.
Amazing interview as always Josh! Love that you always keep it honest and legit real no bs. Your vibes talking with Zack are engaging and enlightening! Keep up the awesome work and PLEASE have a super long form convo again (Snyder cut of interviews lol) after the directors cuts come out 🙌🏽
It's a shame that we have to suffer through the theatrical cuts to get the "real" movie. Just serve up the directors vision straight up. I wish Zach would have rejected Netflix's idea for a PG-13 movie. A big waste of time an energy that taints the product.
Biggest is reason Zack is a great view point director is because he gives each and every character a route ; how they grow up and give equality to every character than making some characters main and others like side characters 😊🍷
Yeah like honestly right now I don’t see anyone else doing the Job of the DC characters where you can respect the spruce material but also go all out and change the cbm norm of it all to make it unique. Like he’s the only guy that can make it for the time being.
Some ppl simply want to see Zack paired up with world-class screenwriters whose plotting & dialogue can truly do justice to his vision for his movies! Also, really strong Creative Producers who can rein him in a little wouldn't be a bad idea as well.
He was paired up w/ the likes of Ben Affleck, Chris Terrio, David Goyer and Christopher Nolan. If ppl weren’t gonna like it then they won’t ever like it.
This is simply the most tiresome, old, and used-up argument when it comes to Zack Snyder. I challenge people all the time on it and I NEVER get a straight answer: What is it about his storytelling that is bad? Just explain it. What makes the writing bad? Give me a solid example that makes it so obviously worse than anything the MCU, Star Wars, or other franchises have put out? I think you guys are just parroting what others have said before.
@@abonny Exactly. It seems like people are unable to separate what he’s trying to accomplish and how that factors into his storytelling from their own expectations of what a film should be. I mean he’s a celebrated director in filmmaker circles, at some point you have to ask yourself what they see that you don’t.
I absolutely hate how people blindly hate on Zack saying that "he doesn't get it" "he doesn't understand superheroes" and things like that. You can see he exudes nothing but love and respect for these iconic characters. They are his life blood. Sure, other have nailed comic book films, Raimi, the Russo brothers, Miller and Lord, Nolan, but this guy lives and breaths comic book characters. Keep doing you sir.

I usually take up for what he does although this trilogy was missing to much and it made it boring and forgettable yet in his mind he thought that was part of the charm. That's not good.
Great interview, Josh!
Zack cant tell stories, but he seems like a great guy
Zack is the best director ever!!!
NETFLIX should have released extended cuts on streaming and limited cinema release of PG 13 versions...
Thank you for being so respectful. Loved every minute of this
No we need part 3 and maybe 4 5 6 to get the full experience 😜
Everything ZACK SNYDER touches turns to gold
I love Zack's films. Great Interview Josh 🤙🏽
this was a great interview and a zack snyder podcast would be amazing
Amazing interview as always Josh! Love that you always keep it honest and legit real no bs. Your vibes talking with Zack are engaging and enlightening! Keep up the awesome work and PLEASE have a super long form convo again (Snyder cut of interviews lol) after the directors cuts come out 🙌🏽
It's a shame that we have to suffer through the theatrical cuts to get the "real" movie. Just serve up the directors vision straight up. I wish Zach would have rejected Netflix's idea for a PG-13 movie. A big waste of time an energy that taints the product.
Amagazing interview
thanks Josh. please do an Invincible talk with Robert Kirkman.
Civil War shyed away from actually addressing what the conflict was all about lol
The PG-13 versions of RM are 2 hour films that feel like 4 hours.
I’m looking forward to seeing Rebel Moon part 2 and the Director’s cut.
It’s a great time to be a Sci-Fi fan!
To my knowledge, Snyder never tried to kill his screenwriter. Soooooo, not to shabby.
14:03 WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME
Been waiting 2.3 years for Rebel Moon, but i refuse t see anything else than the Directors Cuts
Great stuff Josh
Biggest is reason Zack is a great view point director is because he gives each and every character a route ; how they grow up and give equality to every character than making some characters main and others like side characters 😊🍷
Your the KING 🤴 ZACK SNYDER

The best guy to do batman & superman
worst
Yeah like honestly right now I don’t see anyone else doing the Job of the DC characters where you can respect the spruce material but also go all out and change the cbm norm of it all to make it unique. Like he’s the only guy that can make it for the time being.
@@CodeAwesome28 He ruined the DCEU before it even got started, how on earth you think that no one else can do better than him is beyond me
lol ok
I like and appreciate this content and I like this video
He wanted Happy Meals instead of constructive criticism.
ONE OF MY TOP 3 FAV DIRECTORS OF ALL TIMES !!!!
Christopher Nolan, Dune Director, Zack Snyder !!!!
I'm all excited and hyped for REBEL MOON 1,2 3
Zack snyder, chris nolan, james cameron holy trinity!!!
@@abonny You're absolutely right, Bill Goldman would've killed for Zack, Shay Hatten & Kurt Johnstad's skill with the written word 🙄
@@fortheloveofcinema exactly 💯
My favorite Characters in REBEL MOON 2 is Jimmy Kora Devra BloodAxe
The stupidity of having a directors cut for this film, before its even released is wild
I don't care what some people say.. I love Snyder and his films! ❤
Nothing you said is true. He wanted Batman to be graped. The guy does not understand story or how to tell it competently.
He's just a dude with whole novels in his head just making movies.
I see The Blue Print, I watch
We appreciate everything what ZACK SNYDER Deborah Snyder has already done for us
I loved Watchmen my favorite part was a picture of every character in Watchmen
Much love ❤and Respect towards ZACK SNYDER Deborah Snyder
He kind of reminds me of inlight Shyamalan... he kind of started out fantastic and now he's a straight to DVD kind of director
My favorite Characters in REBEL MOON is Nemesis General Titus Darren BloodAxe
Rebel Room both was pedantic, but his 3 DC films are dope, esp Man of Steel and JL. I personally love his style, but he needs a writer. I hope he does more DC films
Another banger interview, by the great Josh Horowitz. I feel like that Elektra movie could POSSIBLY happen one day. Where Marvel just says here Zack, do what you do.
#Zacktivated
Josh, please tell me you're in talks with Comic Con to have a Happy, Sad and Confused Podcast Panel? Preferably in Hall-H. To which, I'd wait in line for.
