Looks like the rotting old lady from the Shining is gonna make an appearance! 😉 I guess the book version with her turning into the wicked witch of the west would be too dated now, and the apartment turning to literal shit would be too weird. “Me Mudder was my Fadder, he shat me out.” I like that she still has that “fadder” pronunciation though.
I hope they keep the part at the end when she finally gets out of the apartment and looks back the whole place is boarded up and obviously unlived in for years. To me that was the creepiest part of that scene. That Pennywise was able to put EVERYTHING in her mind, not just the creepy old lady.
With the miniseries, the problem was working with what they were given in other senses, but it doesn't seem to be so much a problem with the money they had. $12 million _on a television production in 1990_ was pretty generous concerning what you could do. The much bigger problems were ABC wussing out on how much broadcast time they were willing to give it, and caving to censors on quite a bit of content (even with the sexual stuff not counting). The people working on it, however, should have expected that with network TV.

I love the original mainly for Curry's performance it was campy and to me hilarious and scary in the first half of the movie. That second half was not good.
