After watching both reactions, I think y’all would have liked IT (1990) much better.
Yeah I’m a dad of 2 girls. I can’t really watch anything bad happen to kids. And it’s definitely cheep they do it for shock factor
@@MJ-420. I don’t think it’s cheap that they show bad things happening to children in movies. Unfortunately, bad things actually happen to children everyday. They shouldn’t, but they do. Seeing it in a movie is a reminder to the viewer.
Killing kids is what Pennywise does. So, no, it’s not some ‘cheap’ thing they put in the movie. The deaths in The book are far worse.
i’m pretty sure he meant that its cheap because it’s obviously very messed up regardless and it’s so easy for “IT” to catch and kill these kids because they’re so innocent and blah blah blah but you are right, the deaths in the book are far worse than this, along with some other parts of the story.
@@bwoytoilet he scares them as kids are easy to scare and fear makes them taste better to IT . He is seasoning basically.
oh if they read the book they would fall into a coma😂
Thank you lol. The book takes it so much further
Exactly he’s right I read the book
The casting from the kids to the adults was amazing. The adult characters looked and acted like the kids perfectly.
A lot of them picked out who they wanted to play their older selves and some said yes to the movie
@@laurynblake3824 That’s awesome. It did work out!
If only they'd gotten Amy Adams for Beverly it would have been so perfect.
@@The_Rickest_Rick That would be good!
@laurynblake3824 Only two of the final actors were actually who the kids picked: Bill Hader and Jessica Chastain.
Absolutely think its hilarious how jane says "JUSTIN" like he is the person who made the movie 😂😂😂
In the books it is actual canon that Pennywise hates children. It also likes to eat them because their fear is greater than adults.
During the making of Chapter 2 , when the little girl confronts Pennywise under the stands . They were filming it and she really did get scared and started to cry . After the director called " Cut !! " The actor who played Pennywise gave the little girl a hug and said " Sorry , did I scare you ? "
Yesss, Bill is just a sweetheart but pennywise is just terrifying. I remember having a crush on Bill and just everytime i see pennywise i just laugh because of his face and the way he dances
@@queenjuls187 you should read : The Stand - IT - Different Seasons & Skeleton Crew . Great books by Stephen King . I have all his first editions .
@@queenjuls187 I also heard that there is a making on how Pennywise came to be . When it comes to Stephen King movies , I always read the book first .
@@queenjuls187 also Stellan Skarsgard is the father of Bill . He was in : Thor - The Hunt For Red October . Just to name a few
“I don’t like it when they kill kids”
Penny wise is literally a child killer… like… what?
Thank you!!.
Andddd she doesn’t like seeing children killed. Both can be true.
@@AmazingAmani2no one like watching children die, not real children, this is just a movie! A good one in my opinion.
@@AmazingAmani2Then don’t watch a movie about a kid killing clown 😂😂 Just to complain about the fact he’s killing kids.
Exactly why Is bro watching the film then
"I don't like it." "I don't want to think about it." Looking away from what makes people uncomfortable is exactly how Pennywise and all the evil things he does goes ignored unnoticed and forgotten. It's not that Pennywise necessarily messes with people's memory, people rather just ignore and pretend all kinds of bad things don't happen, like how Mike narrates in the beginning. It's why the adults of Derry are all callous and apathetic, they ignore their own unresolved problems and are dismissive of their kid's traumas. Pennywise is a monster that feeds on fear, malice, and people's desperate attempts to ignore those sorts of feelings. As a story, Pennywise is a metaphor for fear and suffering, and turning away when it's too hard to face it. But of course Pennywise is defeated when The Losers Club reconciles with their own fear and suffering and childhood trauma, and faces it head on honestly and forthright, then then they learn and grow, and are the better for it.
Thank God we have a turtle to kill that metaphor.
Behold the turtle of enormous girth. On his back he holds the earth.
Preface: not judging, but this is the 2nd let's watch I've seen of this where the people don't seem to know that a lot of abused people (not just women of course), end up with people who are like their abusers, it's quite common.
Yeah every reactor gets all 'that doesn't make sense! why would she be with a guy like that again? that's so stupid!' about the fact that she ended up in an abusive relationship as an adult and it's really starting to piss me off!
It's incredibly common and those reactions reek of victim blaming.
I mean, you'd think the fact that she was 13 and never had an example of a healthy relationship so maybe she shouldn't be judged too harshly for struggling as an adult might enter into one persons's mind...but I guess not!
36:49 Pennywise (IT) can create illusions that can harm you even if they aren't real. Despite what the movie portrays, he is a very strong character with many abilities. In the book and Dark Tower series, IT is stated to be someone you don't mess with, with only Gan, the supreme creator, being the only person who can actually humble IT.
is he able to do that in front of people if so how does it explain to other people who don’t see the illusions that richie sees and see that he is harmed or even killed out of no where
The girl with the scar on her face, from a story perspective, was shown to the audience immediately after our main cast has decided to run away. She's there to demonstrate why Mike has been watching for It's return for almost 30 years and why it is so crucial that these people stay and find a way to destroy the threat. She is the reason these traumatized former children will risk their lives. She's far from unnecessary in the story arc.
I came to say this. Also nice last name
the birthmark? it's a port wine birthmark
I didn't realize until now that she's also the girl Adrian gave his toy to at the fair.
@@rfresaI was about to say this
38:33 Poor Jane, she looked like she was about to cry when she found out the location. Cant blame her Pennywise is scary AF
“JUSTEN!! 😳😳😳” Jane has the best expressions lol
In the book, other than Mike, Stan was the only one who remembered what happened. Bill knew that Georgie died, but he couldn't remember the specifics until Mike called. Also, Beverly's husband was 1000% worse in the book, and she was the rich one. Richie wore contacts, but when Mike called, he was in physical agony until he took out the contacts. It was like they had to become kids again.
Eddie owned a limo service in the book, but his wife still looked like his mom.
In the time between from when they were kids, until they come back, Mike went and interviewed people from prior It occurrences and the stories they tell sound sorta normal until they remember an odd detail, which was a clown there for no reason.
Nice reaction. The reason people complain about Stephen King's endings is because they are long epilogues where he wraps up all the character conflicts, not because he keeps trying to scare you. I actually like King's endings because he never leaves you hanging on what happens to his characters.
He does sometimes warn you not to read the ending as you won't like it.
Endings are cruel, in his words.
Which is often a good thing, and I've never personally had a problem with King's endings. Though I do understand sometimes people want a shorter ending. He has done a few of those, tbf, but mostly his older and/or shorter stuff. Thinner, for example.
I guess I still prefer his longer winded endings to when he ends things super abruptly.
Cell barely even has an ending at all
💯
So according to my tally, the "Justin" counter hit 44, lol I can't imagine the full length version.
A lot of folks seem to miss it, but the story itself is about dealing and overcoming childhood fear and trauma and how it can continue to live with you into adulthood and conquering it.
What are you talking about? They conquered their fears at the end of chapter one when they were still kids. Thats how they made it out. The came back as adults to face Pennywise and end the cycle
@@stanzaloan3454 They "beat" Pennywise when they were kids, but they still had to live with the trauma of what they experienced. Most of them led pretty traumatic and upsetting lives in general, and that stuff can stick with you decades later.
@@stanzaloan3454 the point is that trauma is not one-and-done or easily defeated. they return not only as adults, but as children too; they have to become kids again to return to derry, just like they were adults when they were kids. the adults and the children coexist like a palimpsest at all points in time until they finally defeat it for good. the point is that trauma is not something u can just face once and then move on from. u have to re-confront it, over and over and over again, until u finally find the strength and the love to push u through. it's a story about trauma and love.
When they were saying the Losers should these things to Pennywise’s heart: crush it, squish it, rip it… All I could think of was “Bop it!”😂
IT is lovecraft type cosmic entity. It’s counter part is a giant space turtle who spit up our galaxy after a tummy ache. (Nod to that in the first movie hen they see the turtle in the water and the turtle stuffie). ITs real form is the cluster of orange lights called the dead lights. The dead lights can kill you or drive you insane. The ritual of CHUD is more complicated in the books. So much so they had to change it for the movie. Also IT influences everyone in the town to a certain extent and amplifies the horrible behaviors and personalities of the people in Derry and IT can also influence adults to just let things happen. The losers have some form of the shining which is why they can defeat IT. All of Steven kings books are connected like the MCU of horror literature. The blood from the first movie was bevs fear of womanhood because of her fathers abuse. I read the book they changed a lot for chapter two. Also IT is part of Derry since it’s been there from the beginning of in inception. Also IT does physically eat children and adults but prefers kids because they’re easier to scare. It likes scaring kids because it’s like salting the meat. Wrote this to help clear up some questions y’all been asking during the first and second movie. Hope this helps
Also part of why the Loser aren't being killed is because they are protected by Maturin (the Turtle), Pennywise has full range to kill everyone else.
Finally someone who describes pennywise correctly.
Idk how many time I see people believe pennywises true form is a female spider...that's just another one of many forms it takes.
@@leonlacroix2638 yeah idk why they would think that because if you read the books it says our brains can't really grasp it's real form hence we rationalize it as a giant spider. But maybe a lot of people just saw the mini series or heard from other people that pennywise was a giant spider? Either way people need to do more research lol.
@@leonelaquezada5322 also something to add to your description of pennywise, the pennywise people encounter in derry is only a avatar. The real pennywise lives deep in space. So despite this movies ending pennywise is still alive and will return in 27 years after it builds a new avatar.
I believe the only one that can truly beat pennywise is Maturn (may have misspelled his name) the cosmic turtle
@@leonlacroix2638 I've heard he makes other appearances in other books so I'm sure you're right about that. I unfortunately haven't bought any of the books where he makes another appearance though. I've heard it makes an appearance in like 4 or 5 other books in passing. But again I can't confirm that
Jane's face when she realized this was filmed close to where they live 😂
I mean, it’s a movie about a clown that kills kids… You can’t be surprised when they kill kids.
I love like she is always like „Justin“ like it’s his fault what happens in the movie
It's great to be back in Derry, breathing in that good ole Derry air. I enjoyed your reactions to both chapter 1 and chapter 2. Jane, do NOT feel bad about your claustrophobia. We all have our moments, even someone like me who has been watching scary movies as long as I can remember. Justin, congrats on your sobriety. Each day you move forward is an outstanding landmark.
Whenever it comes to Stephen King movies , always read the book first. It takes you places where Hollywood can never go .
oh jane im so sorry about that scene 😭 i understand how you feel, i have a visceral reaction to things related to insects, specifically centipedes. even seeing them makes me nauseous and feeling like im gonna pass out. sorry to put you through this!! great reaction to the films regardless!
I love the accusatory "Justin"s 🤣
😂😂😂 me too
The IT series really helps enforce the fact that standing up to your fears is the best way to deal with it - no matter how hard it feels. I used to be afraid while having nightmares - until I turned my fear into rage. So in my nightmares I ended up rushing into the scary situation and beating the hell out of the spooky thing in there. I do not have nightmares anymore.
I love it when Jane gets scared and yells out Justin that's the best reaction. You guys gotta do the INSIDIOUS series next please
Haha yeah she always yells his name. I think it's really sweet and endearing too.
INSIDIOUS 5😂😂 but it's not out yet
always yells his name like he’s the one that made the movie🤣🤣😂
Congrats on the 6 years sober, brother. I never drank but I know how firsthand how horrible it is to have sleep paralysis, wouldn't wish it on anyone. Glad you managed to put a stop to it.
James McAvoy does play professor x but the young one in the x men movies first class is on of my fav
X-Men first class will forever be Goated 🔥.
Sometimes ya gotta remember it’s a movie
Take a shot every time she calls Justin's name ... you will indeed be drunk LMAOO.
I cant believe beverley fed up again.... wow the lack of emotional understanding in that statement and the sheer naivety of it is astounding.
I went to go see this movie in 3D with my friends it was a crazy experience, and I was freaking out.
We need a counter at the top of the screen to track how many times Jane says, “Justin!”
53:55 Dang seeing jane cry like that made me feel sad.
The number of times Jane said "Justin!": 42... You're welcome lol
I just want to speak on the "kids dying" that you guys didn't like. You shouldn't shy away from it. Look up how many kids go missing in just the US alone. It's important. Don't turn away. Don't ignore it. It's important. We need to keep a better eye on it. It's fucking sad. And people dont realize how crazy of a thing it is. Regardless. Enjoyed the reaction.

At 53:17, I think it was the constant flashing lights that caused Jane more discomfort than the actual scene... it was her "deadlights."
It’s cause she’s claustrophobic.. said like 2 seconds after lol
No she literally said she's claustrophobic and dreams of this listen u child how tf can u not hear her
Im claustrophobic as well but I made it through “The Descent”. Im sorry but it shouldnt make you cry or freeze in terror. It should simply make you feel uncomfortable and make your adrenaline kick in.

@@btnhstillfire And? Didn't ask. I'm claustrophobic so yes actually I do know, to the point I've had serious panic attacks and fainted. So don't even try
They literally made up bs as to why she's crying when she said it's bc of claustrophobia and I corrected them child

Congratulations on 6 years sober...
The thing about the real ending of the book:
The story is told in a non linear way in the book.
We are constantly swapping between the time lines of the adults and their 27 years younger counterparts.
The big final fight is between Billy and It when Billy is confronted with the death lights.
Stephen King discribes a fight on a non physicle but full psychic level... no, that's the wrong word. The fight is more like... psychodelic.
It's written in an absolutely stunning way.
That chapter is a proof to King's mastery in writing and the movie would be about four hours long, if the director would have tried to capture it in film.
But, that's not the reason why the enging of the story is so controversial.
I will not write what actually happens when the kids dereat It at the end, but:
The whole thing about the book is that it's a coming of age story.
One part of getting an adult and leaving your childish ways behind is to confront your fears and deamon.
The other thing about becoming an adult is... yes, you guessed it.
So, when the creature is defeated, the losers club is kind of lost in the labyrinth of the sewers.
And when they find no way out they decide to... Afterwords they are finally grown up and find their way out.
I did not write this shit, Stephen King did!
And that's the reason for the running gag about the bad ending in the film.
plus as Stephen has publicly stated, he was high on cocaine writing the book
@@I_Heart_Haderbased. i read the whole novel it was actually really goodm
I find the first part better but chapter 2 was still good. Glad we didn't have to wait until next October to see this lol
Same for some reason I felt the child actors where more believable actors
Hopefully, going forward we/people will know to give a trigger warning for claustrophobia in future film suggestions. Fun reactions to scary movies are one thing. Causing actual distress is another.
Jane, I feel the exact same way! I won’t watch it, but I’ll listen to reactors watch it. My heart goes out to you!
If I got a dime for everytime I heard "JUSTIN!!" in this reaction, i could have paid my car insurance for the month.
Her “Justin” is the equivalent of “daviiid” from schitts creek lol love it
Love your reactions even if they are hard to go through! Thank you for doing IT, these movies are great for actually having good endings.
Little hint: If it makes you uncomfortable and on edge, the movie is doing what is it's supposed to! What did you really expect? The novel is much more graphic!
Hi Jane! I also have dreams like those you described, of getting stuck on places that get thinner and thinner as I walk through them, I understand your agony. Thanks for the amount of effort you put into these reactions, love from Brasil❤️

Imagine them watching something without all this horrible CGI
@@josephamoraz7990 nah the cgi was pretty good in these films. I don't think practical would have necessarily made most of these shots better.

This movie perfectly sums up every understandable reason why people have a fear of clowns
The first attack is made all the more horrible knowing that King based it on the real life murder of Charlie Howard.
😢
So, It doesn't care about sexual orientation, it preys on a person's insecurities in order to induce as much fear as possible. It feeds off of fear, the violence that it utilizes for the final kill is intended to cause a final burst of absolute terror.
congrats my brotha justin on 6 years sober
We love you Jane, thank you so much for being as brave as you are, and spending time with us fans of IT.
24:07 Oh, but Justin--that's the thing about Derry... There probably won't be a search party for that girl. At least, not a long one.
There's something wrong with this town--and that includes most of the people who live in it. Even children and parents. Just look at what we've seen from Chapter 1, and once again with that girl's own mother--who was more focused on a stupid baseball game. The most Derry will do for that girl is add her to the LONG list of Missing/Dead Children posters--which was probably covered up with more posters by the time the movie ended. The tragedies happen in steady bulk, every single round of 27 years, yet nobody cared--save for doing the bare minimum. And even that is just sad. Georgie's own parents gave up looking for him after just a year, and Betty Ripson's poster was covered up after mere months. Something is making the town "forget and move on" sickeningly fast, and that "Something" is Pennywise himself. It just made Derry a much more easier hunting ground for him. Both Derry itself, and Pennywise, feed upon this and the equally-twisted inhabitants. If Derry is like a carnivorous beast, then Pennywise is just the colorful lure at the end of it.
42:00 I'm glad you picked up on all this! God, Derry itself is such a nightmare. A completely twisted take on small-town languor.
Also, that claustrophobia-induced panic was really freaking sad to watch. I wish you didn't watch it, Jane! Take care of yourself!
Love that you guys finished the movie Jane I admire your bravery🧡
Justin! What did you do to this poor woman?! 😅 I haven’t even seen the reaction yet and I can already tell it’s going to be amazingly horrible on Jane and I didn’t even think much of IT chapter 2 but you guys make it better - thanks for being brave enough, love from England peace ✌🏽 😊

The second chapter was good. I loved seeing them as adults and comes together as they did when they were children, finally defeating him. Maybe it wasn't as good as the first, but it was still scary and still a great movie. Plus, Ben and Bill are REALLY nice to look at lol.

Pennywise -- That's what he DOES. He kills & eats kids. Feeds on their fear. Makes adults forget & flat out not see what he does. Remember when you saw the red balloon in the car when Ben was getting carved on in Chapter 1? That's the kind of stuff he does. A lot.

I would like to state that the carnival scene in the beginning with the two gay men actually did happen. It’s inspired by a case where a boy who was around 19-22 named Charlie Howard was with his bf where I think 3 or 4 boys yelled out slurs to them and did violent acts on them. Killing Charlie (throwing him off the bridge) resulting in him drowning. His bf is still alive at this time but I have no information on him
Well killing and eating children is a big part of the monster, he loves it, so that's normal in this movie if he does even if you don't like it ;p Annnd Pennywise is a shapeshifter so everything they see is real and can hurt them.
You guys are the best. Your reactions are so funny to watch hahahahaha
Love from Brazil 🇧🇷
C’mon guys, killing kids is all PennyWise loves to do. That’s the point of the novel & movie. I thought y’all would’ve got that point by now. So of course a lot of kids are going to die. If they didn’t add the child deaths that would’ve been pointless. It’s the whole point that children that survived, grow up & comes back to kill PennyWise for good. You asked why they all forgot, well, should any family leave Derry, the curse isn’t powerful enough to travel with them. So Pennywise made it, should anyone go away & leave. PennyWise makes them forget about everything. Forget Pennywise, the child deaths & even their close friends. PennyWise wouldn’t want folks to leave & get help to come back & kill him. So he makes them forget.
fun fact, what ever form pennywise takes on, he also gets their weakness... eg if he transformed into a werewolf, you could kill/injure it with a silver bullet

As a gay guy, the assault at the start of the movie makes me extremely upset every time. When they turn him over and show his bloody face-I lose my shit.

the worst part is knowing it was based off of the actual event in 1984.
its part of the darkest scenes in the book but its actually based on a true story
I love watching these two react to horror movies, it's a reminder of the power of a story well told. It can mess you up. U luv to see it.
Not me being bored and watching this at 3:27am in the morning to scare myself 🤚😭😭
That scene that was filmed by you had me rolling 😂
19:00 the rhyme "jesus Justine this is disgusting" loveit haha.😂
There's no "IT: Chapter 3" It's gonna be a new show on HBO Max called "Welcome to Derry" a prequel of when Pennywise first got to Earth.
When pennywise first wakes up he is starving. So he's not picky about what meal comes his way. That's why he went for Adrian. Easy meal. And his waking up usually causes bad things to happen. Hence the attack
35:08 if you mix weed with meth, coke and bathsalts. Only Pennywise is strong enough to survive that. XD
Every time she says your name I die laughing. I don't know why 😂
If I may be honest here, I don't think she should be watching any scary shows because if watching something on the computer(TV) is gonna cause a panic attack with tears and all, that's a serious psychological issue friend.
I think you should save her further torture and just you react to the scary ones.
Best reaction can’t wait for next October 😂
In my opinion, you don't have to apologize for feeling uncomfortable watching a scary scene. Great reaction though 👌 👍
The book is so long . Stephrn King said " I went to see it in a theatre with an audience . Then i went to see it alone on things i missed the first time around . The story " IT " is anything you feared. Even if was a simple thing. That was your Pennywise " 🤡
Congrats on 6 years!
I saw the making of this , and the part where the little girl gets scared of 🤡 really happened . After the director called " CUT!! " The actor playing 🤡 went to the little girl and said " Did I scare you ? Im sorry ".
I honestly don't know any other movie that does kill kids. Typically kids are off limits.
As for the mom at the game who lost her daughter, there won't be a search most likely.
Pennywise has this aura around the town, for adults they are more likely to ignore bad situations.
Also don't read the books, there's alot more killings and they are WAY Worse.
That’s what IT does?! At the end of the first all the floating kids and the story Ben told from the library books explains that he almost only goes for kids. So it not cheap for the story to do that, that is the story!
Your ok.. We love you Jane!! 😊
James McAvoy plays Bill and you may know him as a young Professor X in the X-Men movies.
So according to the lore, Pennywise escaped from a prison from another universe or another dimension I'm not sure. But yes, he is an alien.
