  • Seventy-four-year-old Mary Jones was released from prison after serving more than three decades behind bars for a crime committed by an abusive boyfriend. Jones' case was reopened with the help of law students at the University of Southern California in 2006. Ben Tracy reports.

      I just read in another comment that there will be no payment because she wasn’t actually on convicted of the charge like the news story said she actually accepted voluntary manslaughter charge and because of time spent she was free to go
      The news story actually have really misled the facts of the case and completely give the wrong story if the comments I have read are true which believed to be

      Hold it Super Mom all cases concerning black people from reconstruction to today 2017 should be re-opened and looked at very carefully but when you have your elected officials working against you because they have been bought by the 1%ers what can you do. The will defend each other and call you a liar even though the know they are the liars and super predators.

      Most of the time people that have been wrongly sentenced to prison like that can be compensated for millions of dollars.
      However, she or her family is not going to to want for nothing when her money come in.

      I would track down and murder everyone involved with sending me to prison. I'm 74 - I'm not getting out of jail and beginning a career or starting a family.
      My entire life was stolen from me on a lie...so I'll steal the lives of the people responsible.

    A man got hit on his head by a door on a cruise ship and got awarded $21.5M compensation. This woman gets wrongly convicted and spends 32 years in jail and gets nothing. That's another misjustice.

    THIS IS SO SAD. TOO MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE ARE LOCKED UP. MORE NEEDS TO BE DONE TO HELP THE INNOCENT IN PRISON TO GET OUT AND TO PREVENT THIS FOR EVER HAPPENING AGAIN TO THE INNOCENT. IT'S MAINLY US BLACK FOLKS.

      I just read in another comment that there will be no payment because she wasn’t actually on convicted of the charge like the news story said she actually accepted voluntary manslaughter charge and because of time spent she was free to go
      The news story actually have really misled the facts of the case and completely give the wrong story if the comments I have read are true which believed to be
