More than the range (which is a function of battery size), this is the efficiency that I find impressive: 289 Wh/mile is really good, especially for a big SUV. The Macan has more utility and a lower price than Taycan, higher quality and stronger brand than Audi, and especially with NCAS charging, it might become a best-seller in the upper range of the EV market - even perhaps as a more compact and more efficient alternative to Rivian.

Very neat early access but can we please stop caring so much about range!? It's a PORSCHE! When you go buy a 911 or a 718 you don't ponder about its mpg! As long as it is "enough" the major focus of a Porsche test drive should always be how it feels to drive it!

@9:51 "why do you have the button when we have the latch" I don't get this question, the button locks the charger, the latch doesn't lock the charger it just secures it in place (if it wasn't locked anyone could just press the latch and pull it out). I could understand asking why use a button why not just have it tied to the cars lock/unlock, but having the car able to lock the charger in place is a separate function from having a latch on the charger.

Wow. In terms of the UK that would easily get you from Nelson's column in London to Grey's Monument in Newcastle-upon-Tyne without a stop. It's hard to argue for more than that really. Most people doing that sort of drive would want to stop for at least a 10-15 break.

Finally!! Look at those wheels! Love them. Finally a manufacturer truly to committed to maximizing range. Small wheels with minimal cuts in them.
Versus say Rivian. I love Rivian and own one but they should’ve come out with a more aerodynamic 20 inch wheel versus the 21.

@@0-Will-0 I hope so. I find it ironic how manufacturers talk about how they want to make efficient vehicles yet they sell giant wheels on even base trims. Why not offer an efficiency package on every vehicle and trim? Which includes smallest wheel and tire package.

Hello Kyle. While it's great that the Macan went 300 miles, I'm not so sure about the efficiency. If my calculations are correct, based on the ~29 kw/h per 100 km indicated on the car's display, this equates to about 2.13 miles per kilowatt hour. In similar use a Tesla Y LRDM car would travel almost 4 miles per kw/h. The implication is that this car achieves 300+ miles not because it's efficient, but because it has a large battery. Have you reached a different conclusion?
