Alect Squadron. Perhaps ACX's most famous mission, and to some its pivotal moment. I disagree with the latter, as ACX is well balanced throughout and so it's hard to pick a single, pivotal mission (EoD 2 being the closest candidate). But this, goddamn, this. No punches thrown, a straight dogfight with a very, very underrated ace squadron and their escorts. The way ACX works ensure this will typically be a fairly short mission - but with the player's death a lot more times than expected.
And not to forget the most headbang-worthy track this side of AC2 (despite Rio Hamamoto's recent efforts) - a reminder that orchestral tones should play second fiddle to guitars when it comes to dogfighting. Hell, I'll go farther and say this is my single favorite BGM from Ace Combat, if I had to pick one. Yeah. Fite me.

Fun fact, Falco 1 is the player character of the iOS prequel to this game, Xi. He's got a similar emblem, and even faced off against the prototype of the Glepnir, the Gandr, as well as one of Leasath's elite fighter squadrons, Chimera Squadron.
The average AC fan can certainly relate to Falco 1 - after all, it's the only time in AC history you get to play as a fanboy.
Though you still play as a Heroic Mime who's strangely also called the Southern Cross.

*Fun Fact:* Although the Gleipnir was created to record battle data for the Fenrir, it was given an obscenely powerful array of weapons due to Falco 1 splashing Gandr, which led to Navarro not just improving his new aerial fortress, but also adding an extra layer of overkill just in case they encounter Falco 1 again.

Yeah but, Trigger's different.
It would have helped Alect(o) if they had gotten any sort of build up. Or hell, even an ACZ-style "squadron introduction". Kinda like what AC3D did to make its squadrons have a bit more personality. It'd also help if they didn't nick Razgriz' paint job. That's just sad.

This could be the very first time that we face the russian prototype aircrafts S-32 and Mig-1.44 in one single mission.
Mig-1.44 is a russian prototype, S-32 is a fictinal version of the su-47, it didn't exist in real life
@@Ofnir- it did exist in the real world. In paper though.
Final mission in AC5 has Grabacr and Ofnir in S-32s and the named ace flies the MIG-1.44. This is the second instance.

Alect is my new favorite squadron Because it uses the S-32, which is my favorite fighter.
I was about to take out the last Alect squadron in Ace difficulty and then somehow he manage to dodge all of my missiles until I'm running out of it and then I died after getting shot by his missile. Pretty good fight tho. Clever Enemy AI

At 2:04 did anyone else notice that the model of aircraft with the optical camouflage is the f117 instead of fenrir?
I'm pretty sure they are both Fenrirs. You can clearly see the canards in the orange outline.
TugaAvenger if u look at my timestamp the translucent plane looks like it isn't a fenrir...well it might just be me.

Could it be the narrator Is covering Osea's dirty hand in the war? A strong Aurelia would be weakened by the invasión, not to say Navarro's Partner could be arms manufacturers in Osea taking notes on the weapons research.
He is Albert Genette, formerly the narrator of Ace Combat 5. He knows some Osean warmongers are still affiliated with General Resources and capable of supplying Leasath with advanced technologies including Navarro's pet project, The Fenrir. Oh and General Resources is the successor of Grunder industry so expect Belkan magic when creating the most powerful and intricate weapon of mass destruction.

What difficulty was this playthrough on and how many times did you die?
Andrew Rogers Ace difficulty, and a few, didn't exactly keep keep count. I did repeat a lot of runs because I didn't think they were good enough, though. This is a game I adore, and I wanted to do right by it.

Yes, yes I do. Zero's a solid second, but nothing beats this for me. Orchestral themes can only go so far.
