    Toogy! As a Personal Development Coach i am allergic to negative self talk. Not in your head or leaking out the mouth. Especially on the trail. You Do Not suck! Its the 1st ride! Even Pros need a season warm up right? You are an mountain biker..riding a DH gavity park. Takes courage to be on the trail. We live in a MTB bubble but None of this iSh is normal to the average person. Keep at it champ! (okay rant done allergic reaction) 😂😂🤣👍🏽

      I'd definitely recommend Bailey's first, it's still gnarly and there are some insane trails there, but overall there is more variety and a couple of nice flow trails that you can rip down without feeling like you are on death's door at all times like Windrock haha.

  • @JamesStoup
    @JamesStoup 5 лет назад +6

    Windrock is gnarly bro. Here's my suggestion having ridden there (friendly plug for my channel :D) 1. Let some air out of your tires. With as steep as windrock is and as gnarly as it is, traction is king. Having firm tires wont let you go fast or feel confident if you're bouncing off everything. 2. Do the same thing to your suspension. Seriously, people always increase pressure at the park, but windrock you should be running trail or softer pressures for that extra grip. 3. Breathe and chill. Like Paul the Punter did in his video, breathing and singing a song will let you focus more and find that flow state.
    That was gnarly dude, for 4 months off the bike. Definitely not the first place I'd choose to ride haha!!

    • @ToogyHowser
      @ToogyHowser  5 лет назад +3

      Solid advice! I actually did lower my tire pressure, fork and shock after the first couple of runs to soften things up a bit and hopefully get a bit more grip. It really helped!

      @sham8723 4 года назад +1

      @@ToogyHowser
      Good advice above.
      Also, if you get a little consecutive practice there, you will naturally loosen up a little tension. Tension, hard braking, and deathgrip is the enemy at windrock because it sucks your energy. If you can find any mental or physical way to release tension and stay calm and loose in a low attack position then do THAT.
      A big thing is to learn where the good braking spots are on the trails and calmly and loosely brake before running a rough section low and with good balance while off the brakes. Conservation of energy man.

      @@sham8723 yo this advice is vital with the calm, loose and LOW attack position. anyone who rides aggressively will benefit so heavily from reading this and reminding themselves while riding!

    I’ve just found your channel, and this was obviously a while ago, but I don’t think you suck at all. When you watch RUclips, it’s easy to get the idea everyone else is a superstar, who can ride massive drops and jumps and hop their way up technical climbs without dabbing. Actually, the majority of us are bang average and spend a lot of time sh***ng ourselves. Thanks for keeping it real 😀
