- The new "old" Timberjack finally gets a test run down in the woodlot. Winch needs major repairs as it wont free spool because clutch discs are packed with oil and grease. Other than that she works pretty good! Got some new master cylinder installed as well on the beast. We take a quick look at the new woodlot where Scott is currently cutting some pine. Thanks for watching, look for the next video to go over what happend in the winch and take a look at it all apart.

Let’s turn this country Red! Pass it on and watch it if you haven’t seen any. I’ve been working hard since last February turning this country Red and we almost there we need more help on your side of the country 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I was wondering if you felt the same way and I was just about to message you 😮😮😮😮🎉🎉🎉🎉 the winch is crazy especially the one from Ireland who’s so broke she can’t buy a plane ticket back home
Great video thanks for sharing
Perfect video!
Thanks!
what type of protective pants r u wearing? look comfortable
Do you have the part number for that cowl muffler that’s on your newer 225?
Good to see the jack out running. hearing about fixing the winch reminded me that I need to get mine back together. Nice job
Thanks, yes better get it back together!
Great video. Has me thinking about buying a timberjack myself.
Oh I think you should. I just see your on the west coast, im surprised you dont have a cable skidder, I think it would be much lower overhead and maintenance than the track hoe! Good luck over there, be safe!
Love theese old skidders. I have a rigged Fiat 540dt tractor :)
Are you in the USA or a different country? When I hear Fiat im thinking across the pond somewhere?? Thanks for watching
Norway :) fiat logging tractor.
Happy Thanksgiving McCormick family!!
Thank you for sharing with us!!
Same to you!
I never knew how to spell winch but we say wanch😂😂😂
Are you using a Jonsered chainsaw?
Best part of the video is the moment you say the skidder is gonna start and then you spray in a little ether and off she goes!
Great video. The old jacks will still work well with a little work.
For sure!
She has no power she forfeited it and the trust is irrevocable so that is what leads to all bs❤thanks
Had a TJack 550 back in the day. Worked alongside of these and the amazing 404's. Good times.
I'm just here for the accent :) Thank you! Greetings from central Vermont. Happy Thanksgiving.
Oh well I hope I was up to Maine standards then!
@@mccormickfamilyfarm5511You're welcome in Vermont anytime. I'll warm the maple syrup for you! Keep up the great work.
Hey, which Milll do you sell your pulp wood logs to?
I spent most of my working career in Fine Paper Distribution and visited S.D. Warren and Frazer Paper in the latte 60s paper mfg is not what it used to be, I'm sure your family knows that all too well.
Pretty much the only big pulp mill left in the game - Sappi
Good morning and nice video. Take care and have a blessed and safe day and Happy Thanksgiving
Thank you! You too!
Rigs comin along nicely. blew the arm off my diff housing on my 325 Jack what a pain to find a housing lol
Well that puts a damper on things! Some of these old parts are getting tricky to find thats for sure.
@@mccormickfamilyfarm5511 problem for mine is it’s a weird model the 325/330’s were 69-76 and Randy nason told me mines the only 325 he’s had to look for parts for I’ve seen a couple 330’s though
I use brake cleaner instead of starting fluid .....its easy on the motor ...
So glad you're back on RUclips, you had me worried. And congratulations to your daughter on her first buck🎉
Well worry no more! haha thanks for tagging along
Hey Scott. Loving the content! Me and my boys have been watching. We are down in Vermont. It was funny coming across you’re channel, I grew up running an old 83-84 Timberjack 208E. Had the bigger rearends from a 225. This year I just purchased a Thomas band mill. Got the next size up from yours. Love it. Keep it up! Congratulations on your daughter’s first deer! That’s awesome
Happy Thanksgiving what is going on with your winch hard to pull out holds wood up
What had happen is the clutch seals over time had leaked a bunch of oil out that got into all the clutch discs, and then that in turn attracts a bunch of dirt and debris and get packed into all the clutch discs so even though when you release the winch and the brake releases the clutch discs cant spin freely because of all the garbage packed in between them. Pretty common on the old hercules but she will fixed next week and ill show it all apart. Thanks for watching
Have had old timberjacks since 1965 you can take winch top cover up 4 bolts and wash with quart bottle with hole squeeze with gas when releasing then wash it winch in also outside band helps to have a helper 1 quart or 2 fixed
Hey there good to see ya that old girl timber jack still seems to work fine . Got your deer I see your little girl got her first one pretty proud of it . Still plain on coming to visit one of these days . Scott stay safe you and the family keep at it .
You bet
Not much wood has moved here in northern Vermont ! It's so wet you need an airboat to get it out. When my winch was acting like that, i rebuilt the piston, seals, rod ,and spring ! The spring was worn out not letting it free spool right.
Where did you find that skidder
Oh a friend of mine, been after him to sell it to me for a few years now. He had his fun with it, so now its my turn haha
Hey Scott were did you get your loggers tape
Any new videos coming this winter? Enjoy the content
It will be a good skidder , if you ever have winch troubles. Let me know. I know em well. Same as ol jacks. I build a lot of saws now
