- Tourism has hit San Francisco’s Chinatown hard the last couple of years with the pandemic, Asian hate and an increase in robberies and vandalism. Despite it all, the community remains resilient.

As long as the criminals are protected, nothing will change. Hiding their names, face, description and giving multiple chances by giving probation instead of jail time has help no one but criminals

Great heartwarming story. The SF China Town community is a credit to the city of SF and the USofA. The cowardly racist haters that target senior Asian citizens are the lowest form of creature in existence. They are so low that calling them animals would be a insult to actual animals. Perhaps these undesirable excrements of society can be transported to Alcatraz and be part of a living exhibit of the original purposes of the island !

I have no idea why Asian hate, or any racism, is still a thing in this country. Every culture and every person deserves respect as a human. I'll never support anyone that actively harms the lives of another person because of their race or the way they look, it's insane.
When you start looking at violent crime by race, it all starts to make sense. All of American history makes sense when you see who does almost all of the killing.
First order of business is to oust Chesa Boudin on June 7th, vote Yes on Prop H
All Asians in San Francisco as well as everyone who are opposed to hate crimes should turn out in June to vote DA Chesa Boudin out of office. Vote yes on H ! If you don't then you will live in fear and have no one to blame if you become a victim.
Also increase gun ownership in the Asian community!

Yes we Asians do our best to make our selfs home to the greatest country in the world. I took my husband who is black with me here and he was soooo amazed but the bad news was some white dude was running around calling us Asians racist slur and then he slap an older lady and run for no reason. But this is America right? So much for a warm welcoming

The newest stores are killing the charm of Chinatown. so sad that the original shops were on the chopping block as soon as their 99year leases ended.
SF Chinatown is a ghost town. Many empty stores on Grant street.
It's because more stores have closed due to the Asian hate. Instead they are moved to other parts of the city such as the Sunset area.

That's racist! If one too many incidents have an occurring pattern and the vast majority of those criminal are one ethnic group then the media nor the news outlet wants to report on that. Any other group steals or beat one of them and a total media frenzy will pursue. In the bay area, the media tends to cover up much of the violence that occur and any faces shall be fuzz out to protect their identity. That is how criminals are treated...like royalty

I don't think it's Asian hate because I see all kinds of people getting assaulted that are all different colors creeds and religions. We have nut jobs running around the city assaulting people because they're fentanyl addicts end of story
