- Learn how to make a Whipped Soap Base Recipe from scratch. Whipped soap bases are a blend of ingredients that give you a pliable, light and fluffy soap base. The Whipped Soap base is easily customized to create a whole bunch of different recipes with just a few ingredients.
I personally enjoy making the whipped soap base myself instead of buying the foaming bath butter or foaming bath whip. It is often called a foaming bath whip because it is not technically 'soap'. In order to make a true soap, you need to use oils and lye and it goes through the saponification process. Instead of going through that process we use surfactants in this recipe.

I'm looking for an all-natural soap base, are these ingredients all-natural?
Hello summer rain. Thanks for the educational videos.
I would like to know if I can swap SCI for sodium coco sulfornate. And do o need to change its percentage?
Check out this recipe that uses Sodium Coco Sulfate

Thank you for sharing. Just a question instead of ScS can we use ScI? Also can it remain in the same condition at 45°c? temperature
Yes, absolutely
How does this compare to your original whipped soap base video? I just made that one last night. Thank you.
They are very similar, they just use different ingredients
Thank you so much for making this video. I am brand new at this, and I just had a question. Ok, so now we have our soap base. Now how do I go about making this a foaming sugar scrub? What do I need to add to get a final product? Thank you so very much for your time.
You can add some oils / butter and fragrance to it to get a finished product. I am working on a video for the next step of this and it will be posted soon!
@@SummerRainDIY Thank you so much, I am going to watch all of your video's and check your blog out often. I think you explain things really well. Thank you. I will wait for the next step video. Thanks so so much!
Thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoy my videos! ☺️
I use Baobab oil, shea butter and sugar to your previous recipe. When adding to these to this recipe will it make it runny? Thank you!
It will make it softer, it would really depend on the amount of oils that you use. Just add a little bit at a time until you get to the consistency you want.
can you do a triple butter non greasy body butter please?
Here is a body butter I just made ruclips.net/video/fO4zh2doJII/видео.htmlsi=HSKysXpvPsuYslPD
I love this! ❤ Now can you add to this like Shea butter or oils? If so, what is the best way to do that?
I like to add the carrier oil, fragrance and color when I am making the finished product. Just mix it into the whipped soap along with any other ingredients to make your final product.
Okay great! Do you have a suggest on how much butter I can add like maybe 5% or 10%?
Certainly! You can start by adding around 3% to 5% butter to your recipe and then adjust based on your preference for consistency and moisturizing properties. It's always a good idea to experiment with small batches first to find the perfect balance for your skin. Happy crafting!
@@SummerRainDIY Thank you so much! 😊
I only have SCI, hopefully I can get this density with the SCI? Thought?
Here is the video and recipe with SCI for a Whipped Soap Base
Can we use simple RO water or boiled water
You can use tap water, I always suggest using distilled water as all water is not equal. Using distilled water will rule out the water if you run into any issues with formula.
Do you have a recipe for a bigger batch?
You can use the percentages to create any size recipe you would like.
If I were to add salt And shea butter to this, What percentage would you recommend for the recipe? I want to make a salt scrub.
Maybe try something like this
1.58 ounce | 39.5% fine salt
1.88 ounce | 47% Whipped Soap Base
0.08 ounce | 2% Vegetable Glycerin
0.40 ounce | 10% Olive Oil
0.04 ounce | 1% Fragrance Oil
0.02 ounce | .5% Broad Spectrum Preservative
Mica Powder Optional
You can add a bit of Shea butter but not too much bc it will affect the lather.
Thank you so much!

Can we substitute the SCS with anything else? ❤
This is another recipe ruclips.net/video/T7_Ni9TOAmY/видео.htmlsi=YMesTk7BbUQlWYPR
may i know how long can be keep?6month or?
It goes by the ingredient with the shortest shelf life
Hello, please how many grams/batch does the recipe make?
This makes 16 ounces. You can convert it to grams by the percentages that I put with the measurements
Can we use double boiler ? Instead of crock pot ?
She said that you could in the video.
Absolutely, I find the crock pot is easier.
If we use it in a sugar scrub do we need to add additional preservative if adding oils etc.?
You could leave the preservative out as you have already preserved the base and the sugar and oils no not necessarily need to be preserved. Or if you prefer, you could add a bit more as it is likely the finished product would get water in it while you are using it. Either way would be fine.
@@SummerRainDIY thank you for the reply as a lot of RUclipsrs do not respond. Can you do a tutorial on formulating % such as the fragrance oils? How to turn them into grams and how it should look on the scale.
Example you have 0.08 ounce and 0.5% Germall plus thank you!
I can absolutely work on this for you. It might take me a few days but I will get a video made and posted. This post might help a little also summerrain.website/tips-and-tricks/
@@SummerRainDIY your so sweet…thank you so much you don’t know how grateful I am. Have a blessed day/night.
I have heard that Liquid German Plus can be added up to a maximum of 50 degrees Celsius.
What is the correct information?
You have used Liquid German Plus at temperatures above 100 degrees!!
I use Fahrenheit not Celsius it can be used at temperature of 122°F (50°C) or below.
@@SummerRainDIYthank you ❤
Hi, thank you very much for the free recipe! Can I ask you if you prefer this soap base to the one that you made a video on a year ago?♥️🌍🌅🪷
I like them both about the same, I just wanted to try a new recipe. I do add some oils in to this before I use it. I’m actually working on that video right now and it should be out this week.
@@SummerRainDIY Thank you so much for replying so soon! Really appreciate your feedback. Will be on the lookout for your new video! Greetings from South Africa
@@SummerRainDIY omg I am so happy you're making that video and it will be out soon. I am still sitting on the ingredients because you had told me about the video coming out, so I waited. Great news! I will find it on your blog?
Thanks so much
