Plakias is located on the South Coast of Crete 30 kilometers South of the City of Rethymnon.
Plakias is a village surrounded by mountains that end at a beautiful sandy beach and that make Plakias a very popular tourist destination.
In close distance are also some nice sandy gulfs that give to the visitors many choices for nice swimming some of them are Ammoudi , Ammoudaki ,Damnoni , klisidi and pirate's fjord or
kalypso beach.
