What makes it so bad this place?

@@holidayexpertscrete The bad smell of the powerplant nearby that does not seen in the video. Nightlife is very poor, also in the day you do not feel that you are in Crete. The sea it is not very clean and in generally ammoudara is chaotic

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question! Unfortunately, I cannot completely agree with you. The problem with the power plant is mostly its appearance, not the smell, unless you are standing right next to it. Most of the beaches in Ammoudara have Blue Flags, which means the water quality is good. Additionally, it is an open sea, so the water changes faster than in beaches that are like gulfs. Almost all the resorts in northern Crete that are touristically developed are chaotic. If you want peace, I would recommend southern or eastern Crete, but then you lose the benefit of being near most places of interest. Ammoudara is next to Heraklion and is very well connected to it, so if the nightlife is not enough, you always have the option to go out in the largest city of Crete. I don’t claim that Ammoudara is the best destination in Crete, but it has its pros and cons and needs some work too. However, it can offer a really nice holiday if you make the right choices and choose Ammoudara for the right reasons!

Αναμφίβολα η Χρυσή είναι από τις ομορφότερες παραλίες και την έχουμε σε παλαιότερο top 10, άπλα λόγω των απαγορεύσεων που ισχύουν, δεν την συμπεριλάβαμε σε αυτό το βίντεο, ελπίζουμε σύντομα να ανοίξει η παραλία ξανά στον κόσμο....

Πολλοί πηγαίνουν με ιδιωτικά σκάφη, άλλα από την στιγμή που επίσημα απαγορεύεται η αποβίβαση στην παραλία δεν την προτείνουμε...ελπίζουμε να ανοίξει σύντομα με έλεγχο και για το περιβάλλον και για εμάς να την απολαμβάνουμε....

Πολύ ενδιαφέρων..!!!σας αποβίβασε κανονικά στην παραλία?...αν θέλεις πες μας αν ξέρεις ποιες μέρες έχει πλοίο τι ώρα αναχωρεί και πόσο κοστίζει....μάλλον θα είναι η επόμενη μας εξόρμηση εκεί....Σ ευχαριστώ!

Good morning! Since last year, you cannot park directly at the beach. Instead, you need to park before the beach and walk about ten minutes on a dirt road. I believe that if you explain the situation to the staff there, they should allow you to drive the person with the wheelchair to the beach and then return to the parking area, but this is just my opinion and what Common sense suggests, but I cannot guarantee it.”

there is no some village close but are many apartments and small hotels for rent around, the most between Chrisoskalitissa monastery and Elafonisi beach!

Καλημέρα! Εάν υπάρχει λεωφορείο θα είναι μέχρι την Μονή Οδηγήτριας αλλά μετά είναι 9 χιλιόμετρα ακόμα σε χωματόδρομο που και τα κανονικά αυτοκίνητα δυσκολεύονται, είναι καλύτερα αν θα πάτε με κάποιο τζιπ....

Στην παραλία το αυτοκίνητο δεν φτάνει αλλά αν πάτε από την Ανατολική πλευρά της παραλίας δεν είναι παραπάνω από 10 λεπτά περπάτημα σε καλό μονοπάτι, από την δυτική πλευρά είναι το δύσκολο το οποίο είναι απότομο και έχει και σκαλοπάτια....εάν δεν θέλετε περπάτημα καθόλου μπορείτε να παρκάρετε στον Πλακιά και από εκεί φεύγουν καραβάκια συνέχεια και μεταφέρουν κόσμο στην παραλία της Πρέβελης και τους επιστρέφουν και πίσω μετά....

Goodmorning!if you leave at 7:30 you should be there about 9 oclock it s early....2 years ago in August we found sunbeds in the first line at 10 oclock...the problem now is that are less sunbeds and this year we were first in Kedrodasos and in afternoon in Elafonisi so i cant say for sure....please you can write us here what time you were there and if you manage to find sunbeds.....Nice surprise was the the Taverna Kosmos that we had dinner few kilometers after Elafonisi on the way back great quality in good price!👌 We wish you a wunderfull day in Elafonisi with not to much wind!😉

@@holidayexpertscrete we decided to leave at 7 am so we arrived at about 08u30 and 1/4 of sunbeds were already taken , front 2 lines were already full and we are on the 3th line which is good the sands however have more of a salmon color instead of pink but we are glad To be here , the long drive on narrow roads were,well worth it , thank you for your travels around crete and showing us these beautiful places to guide us on our holidays....have a wonderful day 🤜🤛

it was good idea to leave even earlier at 7 becouse the sunbeds are much less this year than previus years, and at least you found! thank you for your kind words is the best reward for us! wish you an amazing holiday and safe way back!🤜🤛
