Paul improved 150% from his first performance in the role as he grew more comfortable in it. I met him several times & he graciously listened to my views on his performance after his second night on stage. He was very happy to meet with fans of the show & Kiss. He ended up being a very good Phantom, especially in the second act of the show. Thanks Paul for being so nice to me & my family.

His vocal talent is evident on "I Was Made For Loving You." He sings most of the song in a deep, strong baritone, but during the instrumental break he switches up to a high, soaring soprano. And he makes it sound effortless. When I first heard that he had been cast as the Phantom, my first thought was: "Paul Stanley??" But then I remembered "I Was Made For Loving You," and I thought: "...actually, that might work."

It's a shame his voice is not what it once was but after 45 years of touring and vocal chord surgery, he deserves a bit of respect. Also rotator cuff surgery, a hip replacement and two knee replacements. Despite that, he has always taken care of his fitness and is well spoken. He is one of the best frontmen in music and still has energy to burn. Painting, acting, he can do alot of things well, and has a tremendous work ethic. If Peter and Ace showed up on time, sober, things would have been different. Now they piss and moan and play the victim blame game. All the haters can talk their shit, but Paul was never lazy. If a guitarist can't show up to record his own tracks, any band would get rid of him. Everyone gives opinions based on dramatic YT snippets. I can't find fault with a good family man who has talent and works hard. And even as a rock star, avoided the self-destructive pitfalls that lifestyle brings. Starchild rocks. Bravo!⭐

I'm amazed at all the comments on here from people that say they didn't know Paul could sing like that. Did you not listen to the Elder?

Thanks for posting this great rare piece of music history! And for those crying in the comments about the quality this is in 1999...you want 4K? Get a grip! This is a gem Im glad I found! Cheers! : )

I agree. It reminds me of THE ELDER too (specially the song ODYSSEY). But, the funny thing is Paul didn't like his voice on the ELDER and was very proud of his performance as the PHANTOM.

I don't really like Paul Stanley, but I have to admit, it took a lot of guts for him to do this, and a lot of talent to pull it off, and he did.✌

Some of this reminds me of his vocals on The Elder which to me is one of the best Kiss albums.

I see a few haters on here but as a Loyal Member Of The KISS Army and plus Paul was my favorite but I respect his and Gene Simmons high business acumen and those two didn't let the fame and fortune get to their heads and some people can say Gene and Paul are narcissistic assholes but I had the privilege of meeting all four members of the original KISS and actually out of all of them Gene and Paul were the coolest over Ace and Peter so if people want to get mad over Paul and Gene speaking the truth about their bandmates who they held accountable one thing anybody can learn from Paul and Gene is if want to go to the top you gotta work at it but this is by far my favorite musical and Paul nailed it I think Gene did a musical too but nice Job Dude 🤘🤘🤘🤘
