Pee Wee's facial expressions are just priceless! 😂
Who's watching this in 2023 heartbroken and wishing pee wee was still alive?
I wish Lovitz was still alive.
@@jayzahn7474 Lovitz isn't dead. Dafuq you talking about
RIP PeeWee 💔😞💔
@@justinratcliffe947 ruclips.net/video/N-lTFZHOT7M/видео.html
He'll never die because we have so many films and videos... besides, he is probably relieved that he won't have to do peewee at age 80 and 90.
When you saw Pee Wee you automatically had a smile on your face. 😊
Indubitably !
He made you feel the zest for being alive 😊
Yep!!
My dad used to do the Lovitz, "yea, yea, that's it, that's the ticket" stuff all the time. I really didn't know it was from a SNL skit/character. Enjoy seeing all these Pee-wee things come up that I missed as a kid. Lovitz and Pee-wee is a great combo!
I still did it for about another 5 years after anyone stopped recognizing it 😂 Now that I’ve been reminded I’ll probably break it out again
My dad still does lol. My friend's dad when we were younger too. Come to think of it, everybody's dad of a certain age has to have done this at least a few times.
I still use it, but no one knows what I'm talking about.
The most refreshing part of this skit is they both were truly ACTING, and not reading prompters off set.
Agreed! Much of this must have been improvised: no indication that they were reading cue cards and likely didn't memorize any scripts.
...Robbed Fort Knocks...
For the 5th time!
...Now you're just being silly.
Perfect delivery/response, you can tell it was on the spot.
I saw Jon Lovitz on a talk show once pressured to do a bit of Liar and he wasn't any good at it. "I suck at this... yeah, that's the ticket." I agree that they're not obviously reading cue cards but I'm not 100% ready to believe they weren't.
They are reading cards below them to the lower right hand side of the screen.
Definitely reading them, but good enough not to make it obvious (which ruins everything!)@@AllenKnutson
I think one of the things that made the character Pee-Wee so compelling, and beloved is that he was a little bit naughty.
He was kind of a stinker, but in a very adorable way.
Especially when you went with him to the movies.
Ya know, when you put it like that, I suddenly realize how much he resembles Bugs Bunny, if Bugs also had a red bowtie.
You beat me to the punch!
I couldn't have said it better 😊
@@tomsmith2013what a stinker
I loved Pee Wee Herman and I always loved watching Pee Wee's Playhouse on Saturday mornings
Its sad hes gone now :(
ya sure girl....
I heartily concur !
@@Glitch-Gremlin @Glitch-Gremlin Very sad! I didn`t know till now... RIP, Pee Wee! I always loved his over-the-top acting and comedy in Cheech and Chong`s Next Movie, too!
I still watch the show
"Oh, yeah... I saw that accident." Then comes a brilliant reaction from Pee Wee.
which got a big laugh
A what time point? Cheers.
1:54.
Morgan Fairchild...lololil😅
Our world was BRIGHTENED by the sunshine when Paul was with us! There was laughter that was so SORELY needed and is even MORE NEEDED in these tumultuous days we are now living in! There was imagination, there was fantasy, and the ability for all of us to travel back to our childhood again. Paul so skillfully transported us there!
You were a beautiful soul.
Now the sunshine has gone out. But it’s gonna forever live in our hearts and through his movies. RIP, Pee Wee. You’ll never be forgotten!
I like how the Tommy character is always a little timid at first and then gradually builds up steam.
The late great Pee Wee Herman stuck in a cell with George Santos...
And also this genius of comedy. Loved by millions and gone far too soon.
That's John Lovitz. Please get your dumb schticks or blatant ignorance in order.
😂😂😂
The looks, the fact both speak portuguese, both lie like a rug...
They kept me in a a "A BIRD CAGE!"
oh sh>t, I can't breathe over here! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sounds like a conversation with George Santos. RIP Pee Wee
George Santos and Joe Biden's actual conversation.
Lmaoo
@@reliableride1786Why would Biden ever talk to that Looser?
It’s Hard to say who Stole the Show in this, they’re Both BRILLIANT!!!!!
You speak the truth, Kemo Sabe !
Always thought Paul Reubens got a bad deal. Reubens and Lovitz playing off each other, improv with a very loose outline.
SNL was never improvised. Including this. You can see them reading off the cue cards, FFS.
I think he wanted out of type cast….who in that day and age went to a porn theater?
@@marylhereI am not sure if your being sarcastic but it was 1991 long before Porn Hub. He totally got screwed. He should have known better, he was in the crap hole state of Florida. Everyone knows what goes on in those places but the cops had to be dicks.
@@marylhereIt would be weirder if Paul Reubens wasn't doing what he did in a porn theater. Can you imagine: squishy floors, room reeking of chlorine and fish, perverted puppet shows going on under trench coats... and here is Pee Wee Herman smiling and eating popcorn.
Sorry to burst your improv bubble…but this was scripted.
I haven’t seen something that made me feel this nostalgic in a very long time….I didn’t laugh much at this sketch, but I couldn’t stop smiling.
2:11 "Now youre being silly." 😂😂😂😂
Two of my favorite characters, one of my favorite sketches.
Pee Wee didn't die, he's living in my basement, no in my attic, he only comes down to make me chicken Alfredo, no pepperoni pizzas, when I ask him to, no whenever he feels like it. Yeah, that's it, pepperoni pizzas whenever he feels like it
😂😂😂😂
Rubens always played Pee Wee in a delightfully edgy way, but with underlying vulnerability. A massive talent.
I miss you Pee Wee, you were a funny, kind man with a talent to make us laugh but just a simple facial gesture. You left us way too soon but God has a front row seat and you've got him laughing all day long. Rest well Pee Wee.
Never checked the dates, but I'm pretty sure Jon Lovitz and Paul were at the Groundlings, together. So doing this little scene for a quick homerun, when they had spent so much time working together, was easy as pie.
I was thinking this came off like really good improv.
I always wondered about this, since they were both friends with Phil Hartman, who they both met in the groundlings. I looked into it and it looks like Paul left before Jon joined the groundlings. Jon said he first met Paul ln this episode.

"They use to cut off my head every night so i couldnt escape" 😂😂😂
Two Groundlings buddies doing their best characters. The only thing missing is their pal Phil Hartman.
A lot of Americans loved Phil. Too bad he's wife was jealous and decided to kill Phil then herself.😢
Two of my childhood favorites working together. We all miss you Paul Reubens. ❤😢
Damn. I hope Paul Rubens knew just how much joy he brought to us.
John Lovitz . I loved him in High School High. I will never forget that movie 😊
And I best loved him in "A League of Their Own"
@@windblown88 yeah I forgot that movie with Madonna, Geena Davis and Rosie.
I remember reading about a "Dark Pee-wee" script Paul Reubens wrote in the late '90s and the movie was supposed to start with Pee-wee in prison.
I guess this classic sketch was a precursor to "The Pee-wee Herman Story" script.
Lovitz and Ruebens … so great together!
I love Pee-wee and II love John Lovitz too. Loved him as Jay Sherman in 90's THE CRITIC cartoon. RIP Paul Reubens. ❤🤍
I forgot about The Critic!
I loved that
I loved Lovitz in A League of the- uhhh, I mean The Godfather. Yeah, that's it. He played the godfather of the Godfather.
@@lizd2943That's the racket.
OMG John Lovitz as Satan in The People's Court skit on SNL.
It Stinks!!!)
I consider myself very fortunate to have grown up during this Era of television. RiP Paul Reubens ❤
I loved Peewee's Big Adventure. We quoted almost every line from the movie years and years after it's release
Classic
"I'M TRYING TO USE THE PHONE!"
I still say "I meant to do that" after I screw up.
"I'm a rebel Doty, a loner; you don't want to get mixed up with a guy like me" has gotten me out of some pretty tight spots. Much Love and Peace Mr. Reubens...
Back in the day some of my classmates would imitate the voice.
I have a cousin who used to be exactly like this. It got to the point I wouldn’t ask him any questions outside of “How’s the weather?” because I knew the answer would be a lie.
I had a coworker who used to say this about his daughter.
I don't know what's sadder, that he'd say this about his own kid in front of a stranger (basically), or what his kid might have done to spark this.
Mr. Rubens was sooo original! Rest in peace.
Indeed !
R.I.P Paul Reubens (Aka) Pee Wee Herman
You’ve always got talent and a funny charm when it comes to your hilarious act.
Lovitz is CLASSIC
Acting!!
RIP Pee Wee/Paul! It's great that he is okay with being Pee Wee on SNL.
In the mid 80s, Paul and I used to hang out at a laser tag stadium in Kenilworth, NJ, called Photon. It was similar to Laser Tag, except it was way better, and way ahead of its time! Great memories! See you in Heaven, Paul!
Rest In Peace Pee Wee Herman
😂😂🤣🤣🤣And this skit is relevant to date! We Got George Santos! Imagine him in the slammer! 😂
The format of this sketch would be a really great improv exercise!
2 great geniuses of comedy! Paul Reubens was so underrated!
These two would of made an awesome duo comedy movie.
They both played Andy in Todd Solondz movies. Lovitz in “Happiness”. Reubens in its sequel “Life During Wartime”
This is hilarious it reminds me of George Santos.
Lovitz is a conservative of course. Many late 80s/ early 90s alums were and are.
Understand that Santos is one of the more-honest Congresspeople and, despair.
This skit is a classic and priceless. Pee Wee was the best.
PeeWee would have been fantastic as a permanent cast member on SNL back then. 👏🏼
Or, Paul Reubens as the cast member and Pee-Wee as one of his recurring characters.
That said, I wonder if it would have been as successful if they took that direction.
@@181cameron hi, oops, thanks for the correction. I did mean Paul, not just the character PeeWee.
@@181cameron Pee Wee meeting Ed Grimley would have been interesting.
Imagine Pee Wee and "Pat" lmao
He tried out and wasn't accepted. However, he made Pee-wee's Playhouse after that. Perhaps for the better, no? Sometimes people who didn't make SNL end up being awesome celebrities who might have been limited by being an SNL cast member.
Both legends. GOATs
I miss those days when you can watch SNL and the actors didn't always appear like they're reading cue cards like robots.
It's called REHEARSAL.
Two masters of Improv doing their thing....
Pee-wee Herman was an amazing person and I hope and pray that he’s in heaven doing his Pee-wee Herman gig. He made me laugh so much and I feel terrible that he’s gone.
" I speak Portugese too! " The only time Santos told the truth.
This is why Jon’s impersonation of George Santos is so perfect 😂
PeeWee's Playhouse is dear to me. My brother and sister (twins) are 10 years younger than me. I was in high school when PWsPH came out. I loved it as much as they did. One of the few shows we could watch together.
Rest well Paul. The long nap every one takes, eventually.
💗☮️💗
Maybe he's cruising the interstates with Large Marge.
This video is so Hilarious!! (especially considering today and George Santos)
And to top it all off, they mention Brazil & Santos native language is Portuguese!
Very well written script, and very well acted by both!

BTW: Can anybody tell me what Pee wee says at 2:09
I can’t make it out, sounds to me he’s saying:
“And then fry ice balls” 😂 (which obviously he is not what he’s saying)
For the 5th time I suppose
You mean Joe Lieden
He says, "I suppose".
@@jjryan1352 Thanks. I’m just noticing your comment now.
(after the person directly above, only answered the last part of the sentence, of what Pee Wee is saying).
(and I was still confused)
-
I swear, it’s like one of those songs like: Jimi Hendrix when he it sounds like he’s saying:
“excuse me while I kiss this guy”
instead of:
“excuse me while I kiss the sky”
-
Until I first noticed your reply, I was still hearing the intelligible phrase of:
“then fish fry ice balls”😅
That's funny I came to the comments in the hopes someone else caught that but I figured no way anyone else would ask.
George Santos' role model
Lovitz has a real “I have triples of the Nova” feel to him.
Paul Reubens was really good in a movie called Pandemonium. Came out in the early 80's.
He was great in those (too-few) scenes of Gotham, as well.
Should have had more.
RIP Pee Wee!!
"I went to Rome to convert the Pope" LOL
What a loss. Paul was one of the last of the character comics. Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason, Moms Maybley, Andy Kaufman, Cheech and Chong, and so many more now lost to us except in videos. Paul has joined an elite group of pure comics.
Cheech and Chong aren't dead. They play the characters still.
@@chrissyellem7397 You are right. My bad. When I started the sentence I was listing character comics but by the end I lost the direction. 😸
🤣@@gary1490

Take it easy, Pee-Wee.
Miss you Paul, ( Peewee )
I hope you are in a better place.
Paul and Lyle, two of my favorite comedians.
PeeWee Herman with Tommy Flanaigan - hilarious!!! Both Paul Rubens n Jon Lovett are excellent comedians on many levels!!! They are ab fab together!!!! Thanks for posting, it made my night!!! N I used to look forward to watching PeeWee's Playhouse too, but as an adult!!! There were lots of very "adult" scenarios n lines that were hidden Mickeys as well as the total disguise of the show as a little kids show!!! I always appreciated that about PeeWee's Playhouse!!! RIP to Paul Reubens. He was a great entertainer!!!
He was treated very badly for something that really didn’t hurt anyone.
@@BMFstudiosNYC sorry I was talking about his personal activity in a movie theatre which I don’t think is a good idea I’m pretty sure he wasn’t the only guy there doing that just the only famous one someone could make a buck on dragging his name through the mud. The vintage erotica of youthful young men was not the same as child pornography of little kids and he was found not guilty on those charges. Of course his career was already ruined.

I read that he was a collector of vintage magazines and erotica.
So it's not like he had Polaroids and stuff.
Anyway I choose to go with that story because I loved Peewee.

Charles Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, 3 Stooges, Pee Wee Herman......
The Legends.

I saw Pee Wee Big adventure in theaters with my family and some kids during the summer of 1985 at a $2.00 Village 8 complex theater. When the movie goes through other movie theaters that charges $5.00 like 6 months or a year then it comes over to this Dollar theatre. The place is no longer around this year was its last time it show movie, the hospital want it's property to make a health center or another hospital. End of an area, the theatre was there since 1972.
