it is very clearly not one material plastered over the UV map - there are plenty of small details that prove that - the wear following the lines of the gun properly & the fact that it isn’t just a solid texture are both more than enough proof that these textures were handmade. AI art generators are NOT smart enough to fill UV maps.

Yeah just get lucky.
You do have to make very high quality work, but anyone can be accepted on the workshop.
It usually does take a bit of feedback from the community too so having a following helps, and posting your work online and encouraging people to like/award and most importantly click the button that says you want this skin to be supported by the game
