As a teen, i only had like $20 in my bank account so i just bought the 1st listing in field tested that was on there for $4 and it ended up having Kato 2014 papers on it as well as a .15 float, had no idea because you couldn't even check float back then without an extension. I've had it equipped ever since and will probably always keep it just because it means more to me than whatever value the stickers add (each sticker is like $1k rn), but literally as a kid when i bought it, i just inspected the first few looking for the one with the fewest scratches, didn't even know or care about stickers back then and thought about scraping them all off on multiple occasions lol... Luckily i didn't.

I am high float collector. I always chased skins that were so damaged so much the looked like default statracks. I still have one of the best Rust Coat collections. I want some number $1's but have a at least top10's atm.
Of course I thought it might decrease the looks within the amount played. It is logical to a level, but this would not make the skins for what they are right now. So either Valve thought it through or it happened by luck :D
This is fascinating, I had no idea the skins had so much depth behind them. I've known next to nothing about skins, I have skins on all my weapons but they're all inexpensive and were ones that I just liked the look of. eg. bioleak on mp9, fleet flock on aug, elite build on AK and P90, worm god on AWP (that was a case drop and I love it), crimson web on deagle, heat on mac10, evil daimyo on m4a4, basilisk on m4a1, rocket pop on galil, agent on MP5-SD, wingshot on p250, retrobution on 5-7, grand prix on UMP45. Some of those went up a bit, the basilisk is worth like $40AUD now but I got it for around $10 I think. Rocket pop is now worth $30AUD, crimson web is now worth $25AUD. Beyond that I stopped opening cases on principal because I strongly oppose the gambling element to skins, particularly because its exposing a lot of children to gambling and also because there is a black market outside of the game as well as scams and other illegal shit going on. After seeing some of the interesting skins this video I'm considering opening some of the old cases which I've been holding onto but ignoring. I've got chroma cases, gamma, operation wildfire, clutch, glove, spectrum, prisma, danger zone, fracture, recoil and revolution cases. Some of those are really old. I'm reluctant to put any money into them though because of the absolute garbage I usually got from previous openings.
The only thing I can brag about skins related is that I was the original owner of #1 float 0.000 AUG Anodized Navy with Titan Holo(#23 float overall) and I in fact dropped and aplied the sticker myself back in 2014 XD I found the guy who has it now and I'm trying to contact him
i was looking into this video just becouse, and what i have to say is... it doesnt make you more or less special than avg. if you think about the skins concept it is stupid, becouse the creator of Counter strike has full control over the market, he can ad skins at the % he likes to inflate value, and the best way to understand this is when you actualy get the skin you desire, sudenly you dont care anymore, what you realy enjoy is the hipe of getting something other people dont have, it is not the actual item itself. i for example had a karambit knife given by a friend that played cs for 1 year and quit. he didnt give a shit about the value. and after having the knife for about 1 week the hipe fell of and i knew it was all fake.

And my jaw hit the floor. First case ever, this lucky MF pulls a Crimson Web Karambit. He sold it for like $750 and we split the profit to kit out our accounts and get some other stuff on Steam. It worked out, but YEARS later, I've never pulled a knife from a case. I got a fac new hyper beast and point disarray. That's the best I've got after they changed my griffin skin.
You can get special paint that comes out a lot better then other you can use spray paint or you can also get special films that you can place into water and you just drop whatever your hydro dipping into the water slowly

i opened a knife 6 years ago, havent opened a single case since, (and then they added the gambling ban in NL so i cant even if i wanted to) but i've had 50 cases from that opening sitting in my inventory, op breakout, revolver cases, hydra cases. i kinda want to open them as a final goodbye

Now each case is worth almost 5$ and i wouldve made insane money had i just hold on to them im so sad..

But I kind of wish I held onto the skin because, that Eye of Horus m4 is so pretty. Oh well.... the best part is I completely suck at the game so people rage so hard when they see my skins and how bad I am. It is absolutely one of the best parts of my day when people get super triggered at me for having a knife while bottom fragging. Came to CS from Valorant too.
I'm kind of a guy that prefers some scratches thats why i aim in field tested guns but some guns are better in battle scared (ak-47 safari mesh/ awp safari mesh) and some guns are better in factory new (m4a1-s cyrex/ awp phoenix) and stickers mostly makes skin ugly but there are some exeptions (i have stickers on guns but most at the time i apply stickers and next day i scrape it)

in cs2 now the case hardened gloves are pattern based. not sure if its a bug or its a confirmed thing. but this means blue gem gloves are now possible
