Really appreciate this video. Letting your actions replace talking makes video extremely informative in a short time. A picture is worth a thousand words. I subscribed. Thanks.
watching this gave me the confidence to give it a go. Knowing it didn't involve freon, reassured me that it was within my skill level. Every garage wanted to replace the entire compressor (at a cost of $600~$650) it's not their money, so why would they care? In spite of me telling them it was a faulty clutch & eBay sells them for $45. I get the last laugh by saving $600~ish. thanks for uploading this video!
Great video, saved me a lot of time. If this is on your list, don't screw around trying to save a few steps. Whether your compressor is upper or lower, remove the fan shroud. Ask me how I know.
Great video! The one important miss is you don't make mention of the spacer (washer) used on the INSIDE of the clutch plate. For those attempting a replacement, take note of the spacer(s) when you remove the failed clutch plate. $69 part from Amazon and about 30 minutes of work.
Just inside the opening inside of the clutch. Did you notice the new package came with 3 various size washers? Designed to allow space for the clutch to engage and disengage. Pause the video at the 1:22 mark. The washer/spacer goes inside the inside opening of the clutch.
Great video! Short & got right to the instruction without all the chatter & back story. Camera work was very clear. I rarely subscribe but definitely subscribed to yours. Well done & thank you!
Mine was high 6-7 ohms. It should be 3.5-4.5. I tested on my other ram and was marking 4.5 as good. Going to the junk yard test and pull one out. Just need it once a while unless I place her to work then yes I'll change it to new.
Great video. What was the failure? Is there a relay in the connector? Can "lockout" from low pressure be reset? Jump it from the battery? Does the whole clutch have to be replaced like yours? Mine is 2016 model and looks exactly like yours. Thank you
The failure was the coil. It smelled of melted plastic and the coating was melted. Not sure of why this happened but once the coil was replaced back to normal
If the clutch doesn’t engage, it’s probably the clutch if the clutch engages but the compressor doesn’t spin probably the compressor. If the clutch doesn’t engage, it doesn’t necessarily mean the clutch is bad. It could be a number of other things.
@@JGD16 ok great so they are separate thats good to know because I ordered the parts based on your video which has been an amazing help due to everyone wants to charge me for the whole compressor, its a small fortune!
@@JGD16 appreciate that. Got a hole on the compressor so I have no AC but I still need to move it. Just curious if I would mess something else up by driving the truck like that

Excellent video. Straight to the point. No BS. Thank you 👍

These are the videos I like. Clear, consise, no excessive talking and "hit the like and subscribe". Excellent video.
Bravo. Best instructional video I've seen no wasted time with comments. Perfect
This is how a RUclips video should be done

I didn't notice any washer when I removed old clutch. Where do new ones go ?

@@dabjabar Thank you. I looked at old clutch and found washer inside and yes new clutch came with washers
MEINEKE quoted me $1,100 plus tax to do this exact same job on my ram
Thank you all of you guys for all this content, video and tips 👍👍👍

Great video. Like no dialog. Best video I've seen so far.
Gotta love these videos where people don't talk
Thank God you posted a link to find this clutch, cause i couldnt find anything under $300. I appreciate your time hopefully it works!
Thanks man. Coil is showing low ohms, so this is the next step. Great video and thanks for the link to the right part!

Get rid of led car chargers and amplifier
Very easy to install. Thank you. I'll try it in a couple days
I think you may have saved me a big headache. Gotta wait for my part
2013 looks the same. Thanks for the video gonna go tackle it now
Was it a similar repair? I have a 13 I’m about to do.
clear and straight to the point. you have gain my like a sub.
Very helpful thank you.
Nice mine is bad this looks pretty easy and way cheap than a new compressor
Excellent video! Thank you
Great video man! But question do you know what size breaker bar you used and snap ring pliers size?
2 years ago. Is it still holding up?
Thank-you very helpful I have to do mine
Excellent!! Thank you so much!!
Was a hot day because my 2006 same thing ram 1500
I like your video stile!

I got washers in my kit. where do they go?
Este es el mejor video que yo e visto en esta plataforma no existe uno mejor
Estoy de acuerdo,y muchas gracias compadre por haber hecho este video 🙏
What is the part number? I dont see it anywhere
Thank you for this video bro 💯
I love the video I just need to know where to find the parts
Should be a link in the description
Great video! Would you mind posting the Amazon link to this item?
Thanks again in advance. 👍
Not much room in there, did you install a new belt too?
No new belt the old one looks good but that a good idea to change it
How is it holding up?
Do you think a 2021 is the same?
How can i tell if it's the clutch thst needs replaced vs the entire compressor?
If the clutch doesn’t engage, it’s probably the clutch if the clutch engages but the compressor doesn’t spin probably the compressor. If the clutch doesn’t engage, it doesn’t necessarily mean the clutch is bad. It could be a number of other things.
My truck is 2010 5.7 do you think it's the same? My clutch just went bad?
It probably similar the concept should be the same but it’s not the same clutch
Job well done. God bless America
Is this on the 3.6 v6?
5.7
Was the air blowing? Just not cold?
Yes the fan was still working just not cold
Does the new coil shows the polarity?
I don’t believe it does. I think it can only mount one way and the clutch it pulling on is steel so polarity should not matter.
Hoping this fixes my 2015 Ram AC suddenly died
How has it held up ? I have the same problem now.
It’s been on for over a little over a month now and it hasn’t fallen apart yet. Still working good
@@JGD16 was your a/c cooling or went low on frion before the clutch went out?
My ac stopped working quickly because the clutch coil burned out. The compressor and refrigerant are separate and we’re not affected
@@JGD16 ok great so they are separate thats good to know because I ordered the parts based on your video which has been an amazing help due to everyone wants to charge me for the whole compressor, its a small fortune!
Hope that part works for you and fixes your problem. Good luck and let me know how it goes
Where did you order the clutch from?
From Amazon, I believe the link is in the description
Is it bad to drive with a bad clutch?
The clutch can be bad as long as the bearing inside the pulley is good.
@@JGD16 appreciate that. Got a hole on the compressor so I have no AC but I still need to move it. Just curious if I would mess something else up by driving the truck like that
What yr was your ram ?
And what’s that tool called that you used to get them rings out lol
Thanks in advance 👍
2015 and they are snap ring pliers
Looks like 2013-2019 classic
