    That Rigid belt sander is an indispensable part of my shop also, although I’ve built mine into a somewhat larger table on a dedicated base. Reciprocating sanders are not easy to find in a size that doesn’t have a huge footprint. I’m on my second one having worn out the first. I build cabinet drawers out of 3/4” plywood sides, which helps eliminate scrap, and this sander does a perfect job of sanding the top edges before assembly.
    I enjoy your videos and although a retired cabinet builder I learn from you and other upcoming young woodworkers. Thanks.

    Just recently found your page and love the content. One quick question: there’s a jig on the wall with your table saw jigs that’s white with an aluminum fence and a 90* arc routed into it. What’s that jigs function in life? I’m guessing some sort of angled miter jig, but haven’t seen a video with it being used yet. I picked up your shop jig bundle, but didn’t see it in there. Thanks for the time you take to pass on your experiences with us!

    Great and timely video. I'm in the process of designing some shop shelving/cabinet units and I got some great ideas from you. Two questions, both around the cinderblock walls. 3 of the walls in my shop are cinderblock. (Actually, I think they may be poured concrete w/ a cinderblock mold. They are painted so I can't really tell if I'm dealing w/ cement or concrete on the seams.) I'm curious what anchor system you use on your wood racks. I'm sure they have to hold a lot of weight. Also, when I mark and drill for anchors, it's a challenge to get the center of the hole exactly where I wanted it to get perfectly level. I'm using a hammer drill w/ masonry bits, but they tend to wander at initial contact. Any tricks?

    • @MWAWoodworks
      @MWAWoodworks  3 года назад +3

      I use tapcon masonry screws (no anchors needed) for attaching to concrete. I actually have a video on it. If you're having issues with wandering, grab an awl and a hammer and make a divot on the wall to keep the bit from wandering 👍

    • @MWAWoodworks
      @MWAWoodworks  2 года назад +1

      I will be taking care of that issue soon by adding a cart/cabinet to set it on and I won't use the legs. I think the legs are a good option if you do on-site work but for a shop I think it needs to be on top of something more stable with storage

    • @MWAWoodworks

  • @jakec788
    @jakec788 2 года назад

    I have a serious question I’m looking to build your miter station I love it, I have one I built last year but I want something with drawers and cabinets, the questions is do you really need t track on both sides ? I find my self only using one side for my stop block I’ve never had to use the other side.

    • @MWAWoodworks
      @MWAWoodworks  2 года назад

      I don't think you "need" t track at all. I use both sides just depends on how long my piece needs to be cut. The right side only does 48", which most of the time is enough, until it isn't 😀
