Happy Landings! Fly outside the box. 📦✈
Reminds me of Quique's other delta wing design, the F-27Q Stryker. It lacked any launch assist, but could do all the maneuvers I see this one doing. Upright boomerangs turned the thing into a spinning blur!
I was thinking the same thing. Stryker 2.0. However I do like the rudder addition. Pretty cool
@@henryefird1806 The original Stryker had rudders! Two, in fact! 🙂
I have two of these. One for me and one for my son. They are a blast to fly. It puts the E-flite f27 evolution to shame. I still love my F27s but the Flex is a dream to fly!
Reminds me of the F-27 I have. I liked landing it in what I'd call a cobra. Get it slow but fast enough to have ample elevator response. Jolt in up elevator and stall it into the ground. I had a mode made for landing it be having far more up elevator throws than regular flying. Basically it just accelerated stalls and lands on its belly.
Definitely another fun landing technique!
I’m thinking about buying one now thanks for the review!
I like the lemon rx recievers.
A buddy of mine has one of these and it’s a blast to watch this thing in the sky
I miss the feeling of going to the field knowing there is a higher probability of crashing than coming home in one piece vs the opposite nowdays! Might need to get one of these to up the 3D (stupid flying) game!
Congrats on 10k guys! I've been watching since just 1k!
Thanks for the continued support!
Nice review. I'll be adding the Piraña to my hangar for next summer. I saw a bunch of these flying at the NEAT Fair fly-in last summer, and they looked like a blast to fly. They even sound cool!
Can you add a member option to your channel? I would DEFINITELY buy it
I should have realized from looking at it, this is the son of the Eflite Schimitar! Thats a lot of plane for $250! And it uses a tiny 6 cell! You could even do 3S in series at that mAh count…
I think…I should have one
I do wonder if its capable of running on 4S on the stock prop, but maybe first hand experimenting will be the best way to find out 😁
I have the Eflite Schimitar, and it is frikking awesome, this looks pretty good, but I will not buy because 1. I have the Eflite Schimitar, not crashed it yet! Also it has thrust vectoring (yaw axis), 2. my Hanger is full, lol
Love your work guys. You make RC so much fun!!
Always happy to remember saturday is upload day! Great review. Looks like a fun bird for sure
So cool to see your channel grow so much!! Ive been here since 1k!
So THATS what you mean by "bounce one on for us"! 🤣Seriously though, you need to stop this. Just about to set up my 1300mm Super Cub for tomorrow, 64mm Rafale on my list but out of stock and now you pull this! My saving grace is the lack of 6s batteries...
looks like an old eflite/parzone stryker updated, they where great and this looks great as well
Hey, it was designed by the same person who designed the Stryker, so you're not far off... 😁
I may have to get one of these. Allot like my Carbon Z Scimitar. Which i enjoyed flying. And had thrust vectoring.
Great review guys
Glad I haven't joined team failsafe, and bougth a flysky radio back then.
This incident was entirely hardware, not software. We used a bad cable to the satellite receiver.
@@TailHeavyProductions No satellite receivers, no problem. It was just a joke.(partially) 😅
@@Toth_Marton I lost my first gopro to "team fail-safe" 😂
@@murrijuana2842 Ohh no! And have you switched after that? I am currently using a Radiomaster Zorro, ELRS version.
now frankly, as a close to 5 year licensed RC motor pilot, I definitely would like to try my hands on one of these but I'd still suggest to anyone considering getting this plane to practice without the assist first. I personally find over my 5 years of flight that not practicing your unassisted take-offs and flights tends to make you less independent as a pilot and less able to react in case the assist starts getting jittery, misbehaves, or something goes wrong, which obviously can happen very fast with such fast aircrafts.
When you feel comfortable doing unassisted takeoffs, it will also greatly aid when you consider flying EDF jets next.
I wanted to also fly some fast aircrafts with flight assist, but I'm glad that the old guard at my field suggested trying without first.
it really helps boost your confidence in your own abilities at keeping your aircraft under control, and in turn less nervewracking in case something doesn't fly as intended.
No
Two flights on mine so far. It’s a lot of fun!
Jerry Smith’s Outlaw is and will always be better but for a foamy, now that the Stryker is no more, is nice to have available
65 yo, on budget retired now. DEC 2024, Will Get one all up. Cut My Foamie teeth on 2,,,Radjet H King,,,
Neptune " Motion Rc.
2 wing Wings, .
The Rudder , Auto Launch, Stablization, "Economy 6 Cell Battery". This is Wing State of the Art I Feel
this is a great plane, but i have over handed launched many pusher prop jets wings and never had prop strike... if for some reason you are worried just wear a good glove...
Just a personal preference - that's all.
Have you guys ever done a speed test? Curious if this thing will hit 120mph!
Love a wing with some rudder.....I am a rudder guy for sure
Hey @TailHeavyProductions you should probably update your web-page for this plane with this video instead of the RV-8 video.
Lots of good info in here
Nicely presented.
did you manage to repair it after the crash?
Com on, this is how I launch all my wings. No magic there.
This is another one of your great reviews, and now this might be my next plane. Do you think it's still fun to fly on a 4S battery? I am wondering if 6S batteries are mandatory for this plane, or if I can spend money on 6S later on, after enjoying the plane on the many 4S packs I already have.
Thank you! We haven't personally tried it on a 4s, but I'm sure it would still be fun! Just much less speed and climb performance is all.
Wouldn't ever recommend doing this, but you can try. The 6s packs for this aren't terribly expensive and theyre worth it
I've been waiting for this. I like the rudder and the 6s quad packs. Easy to make fpv you think?
We haven't tried it ourselves but seems pretty straightforward!
Hi I see you are using a spektrum radio can you please tell me how you setup the pirana I've been trying and can't get it to setup correctly
Think the motor can handle more prop for more speed? What prop would you run for more?
Spektrum crappy sat connectors..... They never fail to fail :) I never had one that worked perfectly for years...... To bad a connector is the biggest issue with a good system :(
I still have two strikers one of them chopped up my hand a few years ago. I need to get it back out, I think I learn my lesson but if I didn't, do they sell the management system?
Do you know if it uses a regular 2207/2306 fpv quad motor? It doesnt say anything on Flex's website.
Quique sorry about the crash brother.what did you do with all the components did you put in back together? I'm willing to buy all the electronics I have a old stunt plane I can use it in.
Hey there Porfirio, Quique didn't crash in this video, that was us, and sorry, we don't plan to get rid of the electronics.
What is the Largest is there Fit an 21700 4S2P LiIon Battery an an full FC with FPV gear? It looks like an Fast FPV Plane
Great review, and obviously great product! Wish there were more Flex dealers in Canada (only 3 shops listed on website). Do you guys ship outside US? Next time you talk to the Flex people, can you please mention more of a Canadian presence would be loved more than 100 Tacos for 100 dollars at a Dr Who Festival.
Hi Randy. Send us an email and we’ll get back to you there about shipping to Canada. Unfortunately we can’t ship it for free like we do for US customers, but we can give you a shipping quote.
#teamfailsafe strikes again... What a thud! I'm not a fan of wings but I really like this thing
Haha nope, this was entirely hardware, not software.
@@TailHeavyProductions I know I'm just teasing. I'm a quad guy so I don't do Spektrum 😜
@@TailHeavyProductions BTW y'all ever flown the UMX Ultrix? My favorite wing LOS or FPV
We oversped the 4s super cub so speed with worry was the case.
Nice crash!!! 🤣🤣🤣
hey would this be a good first wing?
I wouldn’t recommend this as a beginner wing. Something like the Sonicmodell AR900 is more durable and will show you the Delta wing ropes
Cherokee review?
Is there any way to get this plane in europe? looked at the shops but they only seem to ship to US or canada.
Check out this page for more info. www.flexinnovations.com/shipping/
That's why I don't use Spekjunk anymore
idk tho is it scale?
🤣
That speed gives me anxiety
That's why you need to cut it with Molly...
@@murrijuana2842 lmaooo
Well, I guess it's only in the primary assembly that glue isn't needed. 😆
This is like a heavier more expensive F27q… just bring back the F27q horizon! Wtf..
Please get a Draco and convert it to 12s
It's already heavy...why make it heavier? 🧐
A little too fast for me:)
