I despair when people claim a certain performance is the best ever etc, but let me just say this is certainly up there.
Just played yesterday at my dads funeral at his bequest. Rest in peace Dad. I now understand how beautiful this song is and I will play when I want to remember you and need you close by. I love you forever 💔💔💔💔😢

Absolutely moves me to tears every time I hear it. Whenever you see humans doing terrible things to each other, or to themselves on reality TV, listen to this, and realise what humans ARE capable of. People are maikng those beautiful noises!

I was lucky enough to see this performance live. This trio has been on my "Desert Island Discs" list ever since and is usually the one I would save from the waves above the others.
I heard this performed lived in my home county, Napa , California, around 20 years ago. Still fresh, still moving, and exquisite. Thank you, Mozart.

The best one yet...can't stop listening to this version
It is difficult to believe that it took so many years for Cosi to join Nozze and Don Giovanni with a trio such as this and it is only one of the sublime moments in this opera. The staging is conventional but stylish and available on DVD.

The towering genius of people like Mozart in music and Michelangelo in art, for example, are my single biggest reason for a belief in God or some divine force. I find it impossible to believe that such astounding creativity can be the result of evolution. It’s also not easy to believe that the talent of the singers is a lucky result of evolution!.

Avail yourself of Mackerras' Telarc recording with Lott, McLaughlin and Cachemaille if you can. It is studio rather than live, but it is brilliant.

There's a beautiful innocence in this trio, wishing the good of someone you love as they leave. In some productions Don Alfonso expresses some cynical looks as he sings along. Still, it is very sweet transcendent moment. ❤

I love it except that it cuts off a few seconds early. I remember a few years ago finding on RUclips this trio from the same production except that it is a few seconds longer, including the last few flute notes.
