    I believe they're fine provided you have a strong enough lower back. Provided you are deadlifting or doing back extensions (any movement to counter the crunching motion) your posture will be fine. In addition, the rounded position of your lower back won't be an issue in the crunch i your back itself is strong enough to handle it. What do the most famous PTs on RUclips think?

      Sit ups are a good exercise, but people cheat on it and then they suffer the concequences. Two good tips
      1. Don't pull on your neck thinking it will help you
      2. Keep your feet flat and not anchored to anything, and do not move your pelvis during the sit up. This is what causes the pain, bad form

    confused about the form for the dead bug exercise. you mention flattening the back, is this not bad because the back is going into an extreme range of motion, i.e. is it not safer to have the back in the mid point between being rounded and flattened so that you are maintaining the natural curve in the spine?

    • @archiesmith2361
      @archiesmith2361 2 года назад

      Absolutely correct. They should not be saying to flatten the back as this increases the load on the back. Keep a natural curve by putting your hands under the small of the back. Please refer to Dr. McGill, The Back Mechanic. He has devoted his life to studying the mechanics of the back.
