I'm more of a collector than a player so having duplicates is fine as long as I have the complete set. Now, it did take two boxes of 1st ed for me to get the entire holo collection but now sounds like it will take 3 boxes of FF. This will increase my chance of having the complete FF set but also a lot more copies of cards I won't need. I know LGS are getting into the game but I wonder how many will sell\trade singles. One of the problems with base set is only half of the cards are ever used. Yes, a lot has to do with the OP nature of many of the counter runes but even comparing elestral to elestral, certain ones may sound good on cardboard but than there are others which does the same thing but better or cheaper. I surely hope the later sets help make the almost worthless cards in base set more viable or usable. You have tried with the bears and I hope the intention becomes reality. The next few tourneys will determine if your attempts will succeed or if the original metas will continue to dominate or even improve with FF. The bears were a disappointment but had an interesting concept with the subclass idea.
This game will never surpass Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, or Magic the gathering, in my genuine opinion. There is just not enough hype behind this game as of now
We don’t need to surpass those games to have a fun game and community! They’ve also got over 25 years head start on us 😅 Hope you’ll give us a try, we have a special game and community
@@Orangezzzxyou should definitely give it a try! It may not be as big as other card games, but set 2 is just getting released so there’s plenty of time for the community to grow. I also personally wanted to get into a new card game that you can learn and buy new cards as they come out instead of catching up like in other card games that have been out for a long time.
@@Orangezzzx Thats a long answer but Ill try. First of all the games resource system is terrible, every action you perform in the game is chipping away at your own health for some reason, imagine in any other game if you went to do an action and it hurt you, its such a backwards system, imagine if tapping a basic land for Mana cost you 1 life or every time you summoned in Yu-Gi-Oh you had to pay 500 Life Points, thats basically Elestrals resource system. Secondly the games mechanics themselves are just lazily copied from other better card games. The entire layout of the board is literally the Yu-Gi-Oh field, Monster Zones, and Spell/Trap Zones, all Dan did was change the name to Elestral and Runes but its fundamentally the exact same layout and design. Even the combat is Yu-Gi-Oh, your monsters have an ATK and DEF value and whichever position they're in is the value used. Thirdly the game has no visual identity of its own, the creatures are scuffed custom Pokemon, its almost sad how blatantly obvious the plagiarism is elemental creatures with names that are puns hmm wonder where ive seen that concept before. Dan basically borrowed Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Ohs homework and did the classic change up the answers so no one notices thing. Theres so many better card games on the market these days then this one if you really wanted something new. Ones that aren't just blatant rip offs and actually have some thought to their mechanics and design.
