@@WattoRips I always lay my English sets out based on the Japanese numbering. This allows the black star promos to sit in their natural numbered slot rather than having them out of sequence in the back. That just a general rule i follow, doesn't always work out. Each set has its quirks! I've seen about 20 different ways of setting up a 151 expert set and none are wrong!
I really appriciate this video. Ive been watching so many unboxing videos but never really had the experience to look at the cads. The poster Squirtle and Kakuna are actually so nice and and I never knew. Nice job.

@WattoRips unfortunately it was a full set minus the blastoise and it still hurts to this day looking at what they go for in good condition, even in rubbish condition actually haha, but a new adventure awaits.

Awesome collection! I’m getting into collecting full illustration cards (art rare?) since they all look so pretty or sometimes goofy, 151 set has some gems and I love how the starter Pokémon’s illustrations join up with their evolutions.❤ Also love how you gave occasional pokemon sound effects during the vid haha
Missing snorlax from Pokémon center etb. It has the Pokémon center stamp on it. Also squirtle with pokemon center stamp and bulbasaur with bestbuy stamp. I also had to master this set because of the nostalgia. It was great

Promos are not part of the set tho… besides some promos come with 4+ different stamps and it just make the card uglier, they are better without the stamps
@@J_pearce01 well did you know that every energy has 11 different variants? Normal card, modern holo and pixel holo, and every holo can have different amount of swirls up to 5? Meaning every energy has 11 variants times 9 or 10 energy types, so if you really want to be the perfectionist you need 100-110 energy cards
@@rage9667 people really only consider there to be two different energy holo types for energies so that’s what I have. Plus there’s only 8 energy types in 151 lol
Absolutely love this set and really like how you set out your folder! Ive honestly swapped my binder round loads and sinse got a new 4 in a row binder like yours, may even change again to match similar to yours i especially like the front page you have done. Im trying to get all these promos that keep appearing. Need to get the non holo Ditto and Moltres and some of the series 5 cards. But such a fun set and takes you back to when we were kids!

151 is what got me back into pokemon card collecting, loved this set! Don't have the complete master set but I do have the complete pokedex and a bunch of the most rare and valualable secret rares. This was such a fun experience, maybe if they do something like this for future generations I'll get into collecting those as well :) (Still hoping to get my hands on one of those special illustration rare charizards though, you lucked out!)

@@WattoRips Yes I have all the promos in 151 master set. As well I have two another master sets and that is Celebrations(2021) and Pokemon GO(2022). Celebrations I finished in March 2024 and Pokemon GO in April 2024 almost on my birthday. Both Celebrations and Pokemon GO with all promos.

You also gotta get the 4 Costco cosmic reverse holo starters pikachu, bulbasaur, charmander, squirtle, you need the non holo cards ditto, moltres, vileplume, also you need the reverse holo professor stamp voltorb, reverse holo professor program stamp voltorb drill mentor exclusive and the ultra ball league mew promo. 2 of those cards alone cost about $2500 usd.
absolutely love 151 as well! Got most of the master set complete at this point besides like half of the rev holos and a few illustration rares! Excited to get it complete some day :)

Dumb question but for a master set do you use a non holo commons and rares with reverse holos, holo common and rares and reverse holos im just trying to understand this set got me back into it

I also collected all the Japanese Ruler of the Black Flame.✌🏼💯 And now, I’m on an adventure to collect the V Star Universe set. It’s not cheap 😅😅😅😅

Lots of great sellers online. Maybe try Poke Lotto's website for singles! other wise just local shops in melbourne usually have some singles. In real life is good cause you can cut a deal sometimes. Also there is a pokemon center stamped snorlax promo in the elite trainer boxes purchased from the pokemon center. You got both promos if you bought the ETB from pokemon center. mate i'm about to start collecting the SV151 set. i am a 90's kid who grew up watching pokemon and had the original base set mega deck with a rubber band around them (card sleeves what?) haha but now as a 32 year old adult, i wanna get back into again like a brand new reset. i can only get 3x3 card albums so is that ok?

This same thing happened to me in 2020 when I found out what the evolutions set was (have a look at it, just the base set redone) and then look at me now I’m on RUclips buying every set haha. I’m excited for ya and I’m sorry for your wallet! Yeah a 3x3 pocket might be enough just. It’s not enough for the Japanese 151 but! If you wanted to be safe a 4x3 might work better if you want to get every card for this set. I have a palms off gaming link for 10% off in the description of this video. They have every size binder! Just looking at Master Set, are you going after the Energy Variants? There is the Cosmo Foil and then the HD version of the Energy. HD version as much rarer though, there was an article on pokebeach about it.

So the main things are the reverse holos. They have pokeball reverse holos and master ball reverse holos. There is only one master ball per japanese box so they are hard to collect. Also the mew mewtwo and snorlax are promo cards in the english but in the Japanese they are just cards you find in packs. Otherwise it's pretty much the same! Japanese is at it's lowest price right now if you're considering it, it's a great time to start. Thanks for watching!

How does an American go about getting that EB games charmander? Other than eBay? eBay can be so sketch. Also there a pilachu and eevee exclusive from the UK. It’s from the pokepost there and has Pokémon together stamp in gold lettering. Also don’t know how to go about getting them
@Wattorips do you have any tips on collecting the vintage sets (base set, base set 2, jungle, fossil and team rocket)? I am unsure about buying cards from car boots as I don't want them to be fake. I also don't know if it's worth buying vintage cards from card shops. Any advice would be appreciated.
Yeah it is really hard.. I'm currently doing the same. Defs try shops and certified ebay stores. That's are a great place to start. Also if you want , you could buy graded cards that have a very low grade like 4-6 that still look decent for your binder. U will find sometimes they are cheaper than the raw price! But you have to crack the card out yourself of course but at least you know it's real cause it was graded. I think just researching and meeting trusted people in your scene is good though. There are usually good people around. Also watch a youtube on things to look for on fake cards. There is a bit of a checklist that should keep you safe! That's all I can think of. Yes defs possible! they also announced some restock for next year I think! Lost of japanese as well and that's getting a reprint if you wanted to try for that instead. I use @palmsoffgaming sleeves always! And binders. There is a 10% discount link in my description if you want to try those ones! You also gotta get the 4 Costco cosmic reverse holo starters pikachu, bulbasaur, charmander, squirtle, you need the non holo cards ditto, moltres, vileplume, also you need the reverse holo professor stamp voltorb, reverse holo professor program stamp voltorb drill mentor exclusive and the ultra ball league mew promo. 2 of those cards alone cost about $2500 usd.

@@WattoRips God blessed me with living in Japan 🇯🇵. I started with the packs but could not find some SR/AR/SAR/URs. For that, I purchased them individually at book stores and card selling shops.
I also collected all the Japanese Ruler of the Black Flame.✌🏼💯
And now, I’m on an adventure to collect the V Star Universe set. It’s not cheap 😅😅😅😅

Lots of great sellers online. Maybe try Poke Lotto's website for singles! other wise just local shops in melbourne usually have some singles. In real life is good cause you can cut a deal sometimes. There are also promos for the squirtle from pokemon center and there is a scarlet and violet 151 promo bulbasaur. You could get the GameStop charmander to go with the EB games one if you wanted every single one.

Noticed other comments mentioning the best buy bulbasaur, pokemon center squirtle and gamestop charmander. Also there is a pokemon center stamped snorlax promo in the elite trainer boxes purchased from the pokemon center. You got both promos if you bought the ETB from pokemon center. Lastly there are pokemon together stamped pikachu and eevee cards. I will have all of these . . . . One day.

mate i'm about to start collecting the SV151 set. i am a 90's kid who grew up watching pokemon and had the original base set mega deck with a rubber band around them (card sleeves what?) haha but now as a 32 year old adult, i wanna get back into again like a brand new reset. i can only get 3x3 card albums so is that ok?

This same thing happened to me in 2020 when I found out what the evolutions set was (have a look at it, just the base set redone) and then look at me now I’m on RUclips buying every set haha. I’m excited for ya and I’m sorry for your wallet! Yeah a 3x3 pocket might be enough just. It’s not enough for the Japanese 151 but!
If you wanted to be safe a 4x3 might work better if you want to get every card for this set. I have a palms off gaming link for 10% off in the description of this video. They have every size binder! Just looking at Master Set, are you going after the Energy Variants? There is the Cosmo Foil and then the HD version of the Energy. HD version as much rarer though, there was an article on pokebeach about it.

Good idea! I will remember for my next one thanks! I think this one was 6x ETBs, one of each collection box available and 3x cases of mini tins. I spent about $120 AUD on single cards at the end of it all. Most of the openings are on my channel too (except the ETBs but some are in shorts.) Thanks for watching mate!

How does the Japanese 151 master set differ from the English one?
So the main things are the reverse holos. They have pokeball reverse holos and master ball reverse holos. There is only one master ball per japanese box so they are hard to collect. Also the mew mewtwo and snorlax are promo cards in the english but in the Japanese they are just cards you find in packs. Otherwise it's pretty much the same!
Japanese is at it's lowest price right now if you're considering it, it's a great time to start. Thanks for watching!

How does an American go about getting that EB games charmander? Other than eBay? eBay can be so sketch. Also there a pilachu and eevee exclusive from the UK. It’s from the pokepost there and has Pokémon together stamp in gold lettering. Also don’t know how to go about getting them
@Wattorips do you have any tips on collecting the vintage sets (base set, base set 2, jungle, fossil and team rocket)? I am unsure about buying cards from car boots as I don't want them to be fake. I also don't know if it's worth buying vintage cards from card shops. Any advice would be appreciated.
Yeah it is really hard.. I'm currently doing the same. Defs try shops and certified ebay stores. That's are a great place to start. Also if you want , you could buy graded cards that have a very low grade like 4-6 that still look decent for your binder. U will find sometimes they are cheaper than the raw price! But you have to crack the card out yourself of course but at least you know it's real cause it was graded. I think just researching and meeting trusted people in your scene is good though. There are usually good people around. Also watch a youtube on things to look for on fake cards. There is a bit of a checklist that should keep you safe! That's all I can think of. Yes defs possible! they also announced some restock for next year I think! Lost of japanese as well and that's getting a reprint if you wanted to try for that instead. I use @palmsoffgaming sleeves always! And binders. There is a 10% discount link in my description if you want to try those ones! They just fit the card perfectly imo cause they have the right amount of space and don't have that heavy top of the sleeve which other brands do. Thanks for watching!
