Alex, you are a really good teacher. You stay calm and speak in gentle tones and keep your student very relaxed. That's really important. You also give very positive feedback. If I didn't already know how to fly, I'd want you to teach me. I really love that you built that plane for Jeremy and gave it to him all finished and painted up nice. That was very sweet. And Jeremy, awesome job! I've been watching you from when you first picked up a transmitter, and you have come so far in so many ways. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Jeremy, thanks Alex ! Very cool watching Jeremy's progress from his initial flights, his builds, and now FPV. It's especially interesting because I'm making a move to the fixed wings, (building a fpv Mini Talon) I've never flown a rc plane before so of course I've been watching Jeremy (and Alex of course) and I'm taking alot of mental notes. I'm glad I found this channel. I've been watching the previous videos from the last several years. (oh my gosh, you guys have made a ton of videos, lol.) Congrats to Josh B and the guys and girls at FliteTest on their new awesome facility, and thank you FliteTest for making fun, clean language, and enjoyable videos that everyone can relate to. So glad you guys don't have cussing and foul language in your videos, it shows alot of class and integrity.
Jeramey you did really well, great job. After 26 years in RC, this year is the first FPV. Literally, 4 flights as of now and you did much better than me. Jealous here, but enjoyed every second, learned a lot about airspeed and low altitude. Most of my first times were spent lost, too high and looking for landmarks. Yet, knew I loved it.
I've been here sense you guys brought out the original 3 ft Delta, nutball, and flyer. Love you guys and it's amazing to see you grow! You're the reason I've been able to get into flying
Many years ago, _LONG_ before the miniaturization of the video systems available today, I was looking into something similar. My idea was a B-17 or B-24 type with a camera pointed through the "glass" nose having at least 4 mirrors in a truncated pyramid. Back when I was wet-dreaming this it would have involved about 3 or 4 pounds of video gear alone for the FPV aspect. Now you can do it ALL in well under a pound in weight.
I’d love to see one of these where the FPV camera is on a turret that turns when the person controlling it turns their head. And the turret would be in a scale cockpit. I saw a video of something like that in a large scale P51 once. It looked very cinematic
I had a similar thought. Only have the FPV cam mounted on a drone set to track and follow at a set distance. You'd probably have to program separate tracking for the camera gimbol and the drone chase tracking.
Glad I watched this one! My newly finished FT Simple Cub is sitting ready-to-fly on the dining room table. I've flown gliders for ages but this is only my second powered plane, the first was an 049 powered thing and was about 35 years ago! The video had some great tips... thank you!
I know I am kind of asking a lot and this would likely take a lot of work and several videos, but I think I am not the only one that would love to see this. You did a video a year or so ago with a plane with head tracking on the camera on one axis and I loved it, but I want some more and I have been unable to find much on this stuff. Some of this is just updating videos you have already done 2-3 years ago or more and some would be either new or just compiling and updating things together, but this is basically what I am thinking. 1. A current price, quality, and feature comparison on the latest FPV goggle including the best entry level, best image quality, and best for head tracking. 2. A good comparison on FPV cameras again based cost, quality, and features and what is the best entry level, best image, and best signal. 3. A good component list to set up all three types of FPV listed above and how to install them and get them working... especially one for a tracking camera gimbal. 4. What you need to extend the range of both the video and controls, but also the plane how best t o get a good flying time. I am have two of you kits assembled and set up, but I just struggle with the controls and crash them almost immediately. I just do not feel comfortable without FPV. I also have always wanted to fly on something like an ultralight, but do to a horrible experience on a commercial flight 25 years ago I am terrified to fly. A also need to know what things I can slowly upgrade and what I need to save up for up front because I am lacking in funds (I got laid off from the factory I worked at and my health took a turn for the worst so I work at home and have a limited income), so I need to spend my money wisely. I have a 4 channel receiver, the Baby Blender and I think an older kit you no longer carry but something like the Sportster. I have all the servose, batteries, motors, batteries... for both and I have repaired any damages, but they have been collecting dust for over 2 years.
I agree that four channel was easier to learn. I tried both on RealFlight before deciding which wing to use on my Tiny Trainer. Ailerons were easier on the simulator (using the 1.5 Timber) for me. When I went to maiden my Tiny Trainer, it went great. I really enjoy these videos with Jeremy following his progress from new pilot forward.
GOOD Job Jeremy!! You're a fast learner. 👍👍 I've been here since Josh was Scratchbuilding ONLY! Speed Build Kits weren't even OUT yet. You guys have done SO much for the Hobby. Another EPIC Video!! Carmine ✈🚂🚙

All that water AFTER you did the battleship episode. Also whoever wrote that piece of music from 13 minutes onward is a wizard. Such a nice tune to listen to.

Awesome fun!! Hey guys, I always dreamed about RC carrier landings with operational tail hook and arresting cables! In addition, please introduce and advocate this concept to be entered in official AMA sanctioned competitions, similar to prop control line contests. However, also include jets with either ducted fans or turbines. Scale would be awesome, but FPV Carrier Scale event would be even awesomer, bringing our sport to a whole new level!
Once you try FPV, old fashioned line of sight flying feels like a secondary way to fly. It sure looked like Jeremy was catching the bug that so many of us have!
Great video. You guys so lucky to have such great friends to build and fly with. Awesome subject matter. I am envious. I want to build and fly this bird but dunno where to start. Ha ha.
Just want to add .02 regarding the sponsor .. LassPass. put a fpv camera on a badminton bird that is on a sting behind the plane for a 3rd person view
Kinda like a paramotor chase cam. They could just tow a typical chase cam (like Tucker Gott) with a big plane. Cool idea dude!
