Who are the 11 assholes who disliked? Friend introduced me to this particular song. Never heard much of The Stranglers...Golden Brown, of course...and that one resonates as I used to be addicted to heroin. Bloody great song, can't get the bugger out of my head. Will have to listen to some more. Can take me a while (few listens!) to appreciate songs. Any Stranglers suggestions? Namaste
The live versions of this song is way better than the studio. If only Jet Black did not decide to give up playing accoustic drums on the records during this period...

I am still angered by their response which was nothing short of them not giving a shit about the the band. McCartney is one of the worlds greatest bassists in my opinion, especially at the start because he does things which are functional, again i'd rate Kim Deal on that too.. Function over form is sometimes better In no way would stranglers or beatles or pixies benefit from a slap bass solo! HOW WOULD THAT BE BETTER? JJ is the best bassist for the stranglers,end of story no one else in the world could do what he does better
