I have finally decided to commit to buying the Necchi Q132A after MONTHS of procrastinating.... Watching your great video (and the other one) tipped the balance for me, so thanks !! Have been sewing on my Brother Rl425 and I have outgrown it now, trying to sew through anything more than 2 layers of cotton and it struggles, and the buttonholes are really bad. My new lovely Necchi arrives tomorrow, I am soooooooo excited I am going to make my Tina Givens Girl dress I have just cut out, YAY!! Thanks for the really informative and well researched video :)

I just got my Necchi, it’s my first machine and I’m fairly new to sewing. Your videos have helped me decide on the Q132 over my other considerations. It was hard to find much helpful information online about this machine and I’m glad I got it! It sews nicely and seems very sturdy.

I'm looking at the next level up heavy duty machine. I LOVE the looks of the Necchi so much more than the others. I have narrowed it down to Necchi C35, Janome HD 5000. If I go computerized it's the Janome HD 5050 or Necchi C360, or Juki hzl f300.
Every time I have called about the Necchi to one dealer, they try to persuade me on the Janome. Is there something I need to know? I just think the Janome is so ugly. I know looks aren't everything, but the Necchi sends me

I've just brought the brother, must say I was extremely underwhelmed on unboxing. Haven't even used it and have sent it straight back and got the Necchi. I currently have a Necchi sewline 20 (along with a few other machines because sewing life!) And am looking for a table top, quick grab and I am so glad I came across your review. Brother was just a super glossed cheap looking machine which reminded me of a Cricut machine 🙈
Can't wait for Thursday to come so I can have a play with the Necchi and make a figure skating dress with it.
I have no intention on sewing thick materials with this as I have a walking foot machine for my leather bag making 🙈
Thank you once again for a brilliant review, you helped me decide which overlocker to get 2yrs ago as well 😊

I just bought the Necchi and am very happy with it. The only problem is that if the top thread happened to break off during sewing, maybe because the stitching speed was too high, it sometimes got tangled inside the machine and cannot be pulled out. I had to unscrew and removed the left side cover of the machine in order to untangle the broken-off thread, the I could continue sewing. Other than that, the Necchi is a great machine as commented by Abi.

I’ve been looking to get a heavy duty machine for a while now, I have two Brother sewing machines and an entry level Brother embroidery machine. However, I have experienced issues at times with sewing through several layers and felt a heavy duty machine could be the answer so your reviews have proved most helpful and I think it could be the Necchi for me! Would just like to say how much I enjoy your videos/tutorials especially the Lidl Singer overlocker one, which took me from being scared of it to loving it. I am so impressed with your technical know how and wasn’t at all surprised to see you were an engineer. Many years ago I happily stripped down and fixed my mechanical sewing machine, with a little help from my husband, also with an engineering background, but the computerised machines are a different story!! Keep up the good work Abi, I look forward to more interesting and useful videos.

@@sailingenki2038 hi, yes I did get the Necchi and I must say I have not been disappointed, it is a little noisier than my computerised machines but where they skip stitches on thicker fabrics and multiple layers this little machine just sails through anything I have thrown at it! I have not tried lightweight fabrics on it yet, but were it to be an issue I know I can rely on my Brother machine for this. However, I don’t really anticipate it to be a problem. All in all I am delighted with it and even as an experienced stitcher I have not yet ‘floored’ the pedal, it is scarily fast!

It is difficult, there's an element of 'fact' but also an element of choice and how you 'feel' about the machine. Really helpful. I would be interested to hear your review of the Janome HD I've had a look at their machines and I'm impressed but have never used one. Maybe Janome could let you have a range to review? Agree with you on all you sed...Singer heavy duty is ok,basic sewing machine,OK for price, but very overvalued as brand, cos late years machine quality has gone down a lot on top in UK they are very expensive (Singer Futura XL 580 costs 1300£ in UK and 500€ in Germany.my advice is to buy in Germany, make some German friend send it to you, write in its present to don’t pay extra taxes at border) Necchi is making amazing machines, more and more I tend to look at them as awesome choice of machine,so for cheaper ones as for expensive ones(If I could chose just one machine and no issue in money and I can chose any expensive machine,You can bet I would choose Necchi)
Brother really is effed up machines, soo cheaply made interiors, all plastic crap, most details can’t even be repaired and price tag like they would be grate.Wouldn’t advice anyone to get Brother(well, only exception is only embroidery machines if you chose cheaper side then they make some sense,if you need to add that embroidery machine to sew room and make it work for you on daily basis and have to chose as cheap as possible but still doing good work, then yes brother will do the work(frankly if can pay bit more for shipping or travel to Germany, would say better get for bit more a Singer sewing-embroidery machine..but yeah if as most people money is limited and you need to get best machine for you’re money from cheap till expensive models go for Necchi-well built, grate quality details, engine, mechanisms(even when repaired most masters don’t fear to give year warranty on them(when on cheap brothers just repaired thy don’t wanna give a week of warranty cos those plastics brake as hell..no wonder it has only 45 wats cos if it would have 90 wats and same weight it would end up jumping around table like rabbit ....so yeah,Necchi all the way, from bottom till the top with both hands from me

hello abbi, in your opinion are the sewing machines sold by aldi/lidl under the name of singer, necchi etc. the same models featured for sale on their website for more money, or are the lidl/aldi/so crafty ones modified versions, with maybe different specifications or less power etc.

    • @AbisDen
      @AbisDen  4 года назад +1

The ones sold in Aldi and Lidl are imported from Germany. They are designed specifically for those stores and on,y those stores, so you’ll find no dealer who sells singer or Necchi machines will accept them for a service under warranty. They are designed with different features but not necessarily better or worse, just different features x

Can you try sewing the layered jeans fabric on the Necchi machine? Neither brother nor singer managed it very well.
It’s interesting that the lower power brother can get through the 4 layers leatherette that the singer can’t.

There are two videos that show a complete tear-down - one of Necchi and one of Singer HD. The machines inside are IDENTICAL except for the motor, but the Necchi video is for the 220 Volts machine. Both motors are 90 Watts. Singer HD: ruclips.net/video/tImTTD8y750/видео.html Necchi Q132A: ruclips.net/video/jOKapYQVrkc/видео.html

Thank you. It demonstrates that sewing machine factories churn out machines for many different companies. Like a pick and mix, they decide what's going into their machine and the factory will produce them.

@@AbisDen Yes, but you preferred Necchi. Maybe indeed there is a slight difference somewhere. Q132A is very popular in Ukraine and some knowledgeable guy claims that this is the best "semi-industrial" machine he encountered (in one of the links I sent you). But apparently his company does not sell Singer HD so he is not familiar with that model. In the USA you can get a Singer HD with a table for like $230 while Q132A is $369. Singer HD is sold in huge numbers and there are plenty of complaints and also plenty of praises. I work with PU and PVC coated fabrics 600 Denier and up so I need some reasonable punching power. Still thinking...

Which Viking though? I have the E20 and I often wonder how it compares in noise with the other Vikings since mine was the second model from the bottom from the range. I'm willing to bet the Emerald for instance will be quieter than mine and the Emerald in turn will be noisier than one of the more advanced models. I wish noise was one of the data companies would provide, I'm very intrigued by this Necchi and noise is one of the factors I would weigh in upgrading from my machine.

i’m not going to argue with your picks and comments although i want to add you missed out on reviewing what i think is a good bargain for a Strong / heavy duty Machine it’s the Chinese Industrial Walking Foot Sewing machines found on Ebay they essentially are a Clone and look very similiar to the Sailrite brand Machines. i personally bought one about 15 years ago to use as a hobby Sewer for making Canvas and Vinyly Cushions for my personal Boats and for freinds as well i also do my own Vintage Automobile Interiors with the machine and i’ve found that Sailrite parts like the Power Wheel and some others they sell fit mine. perfectly now Sailrite does claim they own and use their own molds for their machines and they spec out higher quality in their parts and manufacturing. and that may very well be the case I do know that Sailrite as a company does offer excellent Customer support and Instructional Videos and by no means am i negating them as a company bv yet i’ve personally found the made in China clones to be a pretty good bargain for the price mine has done many projects and is still going strong it’s a machine that has many different brands on it and some of which do have a great Website of parts and Support that are quite helpful if you search Ebay for Industrial Walking Foot Sewing Machine you will find them marketed with several names and sold by several Vendors i beleive the Reliable Brand that Home Depot sells is the same machine with a metal carrying handle bolted to the top of the machine mine did not come with that but i have purchased a heavy Duty Handle I’ve used on other projects at a cost of under ten dollars my plan is to drill and tap the casting of my machine to install the handle ? i’ve also seen some You Tube videos of other upgrades for these machines i’ve been seriously considering doing for my next projects and are all fairly simple and inexpensive to do that give the machine more power and control i just haven’t had the need to do so yet as mine has been working just like i got it delivered to me it’s operation honestly has exceeded its expectations without doing any upgrades so far
