I’m taking a lot heat for liking this product. Which I do. It's not a paid ad. It's not a paid anything. It never is. I like it. So, shoot me. Or, maybe lighten up a bit?

If they haven't tried it. Or know someone who has. Then there just not getting the point of what you were putting out there.
You tried a new product. You like said product. Your not being paid to review or show the product. So your honest opinion is you like it and will use it. End of story.👍
Not sure what you mean by taking heat? I personally don't think it's a product worth buying (for me) and I felt the review itself was a bit repetitive. That doesn't mean I don't thoroughly enjoy the vast majority of your content.
That is my opinion and you are welcome to your opinion of course and it's not a big deal if they are different. But surely stating ones opinion isn't a bad thing?
It makes me wonder how much actual travelling people have done at times.

For a weekend camp a bucket will do. For a four week expedition, I want something like this
@@project-overland for someone that does longer trips often, would you not opt for a heater exchange in the engine bay? Arrive at destination to instant hot water, and as much as you like (water supply permitting). As someone who does a lot of travelling, I see this as an attempt to solve a problem which didn't really exist. 1hr wait for a warm sponge. Would be over it by day 3. No chance I would be using this on a 4 week expedition. You cook food, you need to wash up, boil a little extra for your shower. Adds about 2mins more to boil that little bit extra in your pot or billy, and is already part of your routine (unless you're not cooking and washing up on this hypothetical 4 week expedition?). Billycan or a bucket is pretty portable to move around the camp site too...

Excellent product & great review Andrew! What most people who prefer a bucket are missing, is the fact that you could have this heating water as you drive to your campsite. I’m seriously considering one!! 😀👍
Needs planning though for a family of 4 drive 40 minutes 1st person takes a shower then same again another 3 times then once more and everyone will be clean and you will have enough to do the washing up in less than 500 km

Couldn't you achieve very similar results with a cloth and bucket of warm water?
and where would you get the warm water? Where would you store it? How would you heat it up?
Kelly kettle to heat the water and pour it into a separate bucket. Wash clothe and or Filipino taboo style would be a suggested alternative to this now that you mention it

Love the review, not the product.
It's big for what it does. For not mixing in cold water it's to big.
You get a pump and showerhead that takes less space, and you will always have a bucket to heat water in.
A 12v water heater is smaller and you can make tea with it. Can you make tea with this one?
A bucket has a lot of uses.
This unit has one?
The unit will use less water for showering.
It also comes with 3 sponges, with the intent that you use one for dishes.
(Not just one use or purpose)

Just bought this and agree it’s a game changer. Will no longer use my Companion gas shower system. The Geyser system is just super water efficient which is the main thing I am after. The fact it’s compact and electric is just a bonus. Full marks from me.

Andrew can't hide the look of disdain on his face as he tries to announce "it's great" as sincerely as possible realising he's purchased a piece of plastic crap that wets a sponge. This made my morning 😂

We own one and it works great. 2 liters cold and we use our jetboil to heat one liter to boiling. We purchased 1/4 ID hose and a splitter. We keep unit in our wall tent and one hose runs out to our attached shower enclosure and the other hose runs to our sink. We used 1/4 barb shutoff valves for both the shower and sink table. We dont use the sponges and instead use this for running water in our wall tent. Our lithium battery pack we use for lights in the wall tent is our power source. Works great and barely uses any water

Companion rechargeable camp shower, collapsible bucket and Billy to heat water in minutes is so much more faster, compact, cheaper & just as efficient with water.
Ive used this for our trips this year as our truck shower. I would say the comments on boil time are valid however I have not found another element type heater that is any better. I give the unit good marks for its portability and dont know another unit that betters it. Time to boil? Anyone know if Jetboil have made a portable shower yet?
Could you put some warm / hot water from a jet boil, so it’s quicker to heat.....?
Great review on a different product for sure (albeit extremely slow to heat and noisy) but after trying 3 other systems over the years, my new Glind heat exchanger system wins hands down.
Why not use the lost engine heat? Or even a heater that runs on diesel as a webasto?

Brilliant topic, I know it's a review and not a debate but I love all the opinions and banter overall the bucket wins, I've noticed no one has mentioned free, ultra reliable, and quiet gravity so much so I'm going to make myself an all time classic a bucket with a showerhead maybe a valve in between then make a roof rack stick to hang it on I've seen 60 year old one's still in use, proven tech why try and reinvent the wheel lol.

Cool product Andrew! Looks like a water-savvy and fun way to shower! If it was properly mounted would be brilliant for heating water while still travelling to camp. I see the value of it. Use of power wouldn't be a problem with sufficient solar supply too.

Hello Andrew, Vitor from Portugal, again... I'm not a Patreon yet but one in future for sure. I'm all about off roading since my youth but never feel i fit in in any on the off roading style off my friend or acquaintances. Ones too all day mud puddle other too rally baja speed style. So seeing your videos was like a clear sky in a rainy day, the concept of routing by off road trails but without being stuck just for the "fun?" of being stuck. Being said that it's funny you present the Geyser system because just a few days before i saw a product from Kampa (maybe you know it, i beleie it's an old camping gear company from UK) they called the item Geyser and it's portable too. It's not electric but it's compact and for the price it's quite interesting for the people like you said have a second vehicle or just not have a all year round one with permanent systems. I found it in Portugal for 200€ retail price. seems very fine so i believed you probably like to know about it. Good segment you made, it could be useful. I made portable shower from one of those garden sprayers. Just put hot water, pump it manually and you have shower. It isn't as efficient on water consumption ( maybe it is my fault, since I changed the hose for bigger diameter one ), but it was cheap and it works. Next iteration would be battery one.

haha when it's running at half speed it reminded me of my Yamaha FS1e idling...back when I was 16 :-) Certainly not for me...a Jetboil, 2mins later boiling water to add to a bucket with sponge...job done.
Very interested in the upcoming review of the Garmin GPS. It seems like a lot of money (around $1000) for a product that has very smiliar features and mapping (as per Hema GPS unit or apps on a tablet) at almost half the price. If they use the same maps then I'm not sure I'd invest in something that was double the price for the same maps. I'd love to see a comparison to weigh up the differences from one to the other and to see how accurate they would be. A 10 meter difference for a road marking can make a huge difference in the bush.
Cool gadget, but a kettle, bucket, and sponge will do the same thing for 300 bucks cheaper.

I really like the product and would love to own one. It definitely makes sense for washing dishes and it's efficient enough for a shower. The best thing is it's so small.

The review is really good. I am not sure this would be the product of choice for me. I was surprised to see your spare tire in the background: it is NOT a KO2. Falken AT3 I believe, right? how are they doing? are you going to say something at some point? thanks.
And you could have it heating while you are moving and charging, or got a good solar. Charge and use it later I guess??but that depends on the insulation
Have a look at the Nemo Helios shower. Simpler, better, cheaper and more compact.

The cheaper one does have a mixer, you put in one litre of boiling water and two litres of cold water and turn it on, which would be a much quicker and better option out of the two. Although as people have said, bucket and sponge will do the same thing.
I could see it being useful in situations where you have lots of sun for electricity and there's a fire ban.
I can't think how this could be usefull on the average trip. The amount of 12V power it takes to heat for 35 min [ 50-100 amps] and then say 2 amps for the pump is considerable, then X2 for the average couple will kill most peoples electric systems. Also pretty hard to think 1 gallon will wet down and rinse a head of hair and the rest of the body. It would seem the better buy is the one without the heater, but then a small esky filled with warm water and a 12V winshield washer pump would do the same thing, those can be found for free most everywhere. The fact it all works out of the box, without instructions does mean that someone was thinking when they designed it, but they forgot ,you don't have unlimited electricity in the bush. Current bushes are only found in congested townsites. CHEERS Steve h.

The noise of that pump at half rate - like a generator in the next camp..
Nice Concept, quick semiportable wash station - Using a small regulated air accumulator (tank - charged up with the vehicle compressor)- instead of an electric pump to drive the water out of the tank would avoid the noise while having a wash and remove the tether
Of course a sports bottle and flannel does an alternative version of the same job - if it is filled with warm water..
I like idea . The biggest problem I have it's 80 w over 30 min . Power consumption and store are number one problem in ovelanding . It's good when is clear sky and you have 200w solar otherwise it will need to run engine as we are all have fridge running , charging some phones , other elect devices . 80 w is about same as fridge running in full power the difference only 5-10 min vs 30 min per person
Yes its noisy yes it takes a while yes yes yes, But! Its a great design, works well and use little water, when you in the bush, time is something you have, so you can sit and wait for it to warm up while you light the fire and setup camp, an unlimited supply of water you don’t, this to me this does the job. Andrew still had a better one in the camper,,but this is a great concept.

With you all the way on the instructions Andrew, could not have phrased it better. Best to do anything out of sight of the BOSS though as she will keep mentioning the instructions and undermine your efforts to succeed.
End result is a sponge bath with warm water, a very efficient use of water I'll concede! My old jetboil will warm the same amount of water in 10 minutes. Only extra step is dumping heated water into bucket, then dunking sponge into said bucket. This way, you're getting dual use out of a single piece of equipment (my jetboil is for coffee, soups or dehydrated meals). You're not tethered to the vehicle for any stage of this.
Not that interesting. Seems faster to just boil some water to have a sponge bath. I liek the idea of it heating water. but seems it should be able ot attach to your own water source.
I think the amount of $$ kills it for me. But I’m sure plenty of others will purchase it.

Mr Heater makes a USB rechargeable shower head with a pump that works great if you have a bucket of warm water. $40!
Generalisations beg qualification. I'd bet you studied the manuals for your aircraft before your first solo!

Once again we are a people separated by a common language. Geezer in the U.S. is an old crotchety person. Guyzer is what you find in Yellowstone where hot water shoots out of the ground.

Being a Kiwi this is the first time I've heard geyser - guy zer, pronounced ghee zer other than been referred to an old gheezer (man)? Anyway, when that unit started up it sounded like my grandads 1949 Farmall tractor at low revs.......
At the bottom of Geysers home page is a warning of a cancer causing product. Thought it should be mentioned.
I take a quick dip in any glacial stream instead of lugging around with another dohickey ....

Yes nice equipment. But what a noice from the pump. That is a deal breaker for me.
Pump noise is great for scaring away the lions. Its a multipurpose device.
Great idea, too expensive for what it is though.
