I'd love to see some more story driven content...or at least the illusion of a story. I love the game, but wish it had more of a campaign type feel to it.
From what i can understand, i can put together that Osiris is a mission to save the President to restore power. In the DLC Lifeline, there were apparently unconfirmed reports of Air Force One crashing. If this is correct, then there is the possibility the army were heading to the crash location to search for the President, with the code either referencing that he was found alive, or was killed in the crash. It is most likely that the President was alive as they call for a evacuation and are told to realign (as in change frequency to hide any further info).
It could also mean a evacuation of the President after Washington getting overrun to a more secure location, though not as easily lore backed other than the evidence of it being a remaining stronghold. This evacuation could be as the army are falling back due to increasing force or after, whichever floats your boat as you wish to believe (as far as i’m aware theres no right or wrong there, even as far as this possibility)
I might need assuring of the sitrep of AF1 crashing being existant, as i have not yet witnessed it in my own playthroughs yet. In the case that it does exist, then the second possibility is automatically wrong unless in the odd case the President wasn’t on it (which he would’ve been, most likely being evacuated to Washington, or if you think further, a secure bunker and this plane set off when the zombies were taking stronger control of America and crashed making it’s way to one of those locations. As Washington is the military stronghold, it would make nearly as much sense for the President to be there as to be taken to a bunker, again, this is another whichever you prefer to believe situation.

If you want more context for a good chunk of the State of Decay lore play the tutorial all the way through because two characters in the tutorial one would be a military sniper and the other would be a medical technician when certain radio Transmissions are heard they will respond to them in very unique dialogue to give us hints of how everything went down and it's quite interesting cuz it doesn't give us a full picture but it lets us know both these characters had a significant role shortly before State of Decay 2 would start
so we know the presidents plane crashed.
also survived because an exfil mean they need an immediate ride home, the 3-4 part is still unknown as it belongs to a contingency jargon found in homes where infected zombies were? so maybe he got bit? or got infected somehow
the doctor in heartlands mentions needing a new plan to get america rebuilt called project Osiris
which was ordered from a secret base of unknown origin
she also mentions the lifeline dlc in sod 1 where she was rescued by your player character and Sasquatch(whos a CIA special forces spook and is working for project osiris because thats his voice on the transmission but i could be wrong, oddly enough lily ritters voice was heard too
but she could just be the same voice actor playing a different character
the character izzbee has been tracking Osiris and hacked CLEO thus finding out that the army has been doing weird experiments across the us especially in Trumbull valley the doctor
also mentions bein taken to a base where the army retreated because of a declared retreat the military lost a good number of troops in their failed attempt to protect cities, and colonel in charge needed to preserve all the graduates, engineers, scientists, and remaining military forces so he called a retreat to the base. this is literally thrown so many times in your face during sod 2s base game i cant believe you missed it, its also explained by the doctor in heartland if you paid attention to comments she makes on the radio
project haven is behind the bridges being destroyed we know based on captain logan confirming that there wasnt enough explosives in Trumbull valley or people with the how to do it, it was either an orbital strike by cleo or sabotage with a clear agenda in mind by someone.
project haven is activated at the end of haven on accident by the doctor who tells her thanks for her contribution in the experiment
we also know that Trumbull valley was where they mysterious plague started that eventually evolved into blood plague, and later formed plague walls
we also know the doctor worked on viruses before the outbreak and she admitted to purposely infecting Trumbull valley as a way to study blood plague, but project haven had other plans in mind which resulted in the death of the echo special forces battalion that got sent there as they attempted to destroy the plague wall in Marshall and they failed
I actually did some research online to look into the code 3 4 that they mentioned. And hear is what I found during a state of emergency a code 3 means Non emergent and a Code 4 means status is under control. I'm not sure how accurate what I found is but whats ur opinion
I know this is an old Video but I cant help but to notice how people keep NOT addressing the fact that the Person (Male) talking on the Osiris side of things is none other then our Huckleberry Sergeant Kelly Eldridge III Callsign "Sasquatch" Who Later Joins up with Red Talon and is the annoying ass hat in the bird tossing banter during Daybreak missions

I know this is very late but I’ll try to speculate the whole project Osiris until the 3rd game releases.
The “mysterious voice” is actually Sasquatch! I can tell because I easily recognize his voice because of his lazy ass sitting in a chopper doing nothing. This could mean that he’s still helping out the military and is possibly running operations for the President due to in the 1st game the evac team from the DLC (forgot the name) found him randomly while he was on a classified mission and presumed him to be special forces.
Now onto the actual radio broadcast, I’m assuming somehow the president was in trouble and was on their way to get evacuated. Then Sasquatch told the voice to “realign”, to switch to a different frequency.
Later (or maybe before?) Sasquatch or someone tried to contact Osiris and had Osiris broadcast on open again, this lead to Meredeth attempting to contact them but got shut down by Sasquatch.
The question is, how come Meredeth didn’t recognize Sasquatch’s voice?
The 3-4 portion of the radio call is nonsense (its a civilian company trying to sound like military) so could mean anything. The interesting part is the distances we are speaking about here, let me explain. In order for someone to get that signal they would need to be between the two speaking. The woman's voice is reporting into base about the status of a mission she is on, the man is answering but with "realign" which means that he can confirm that she is speaking and is meant to be relaying a message to his callsign, but the message on his side is too garbled to understand fully. You are getting both ends of the conversation clearly so you are closer to main base than her and if you were wanting to assist her in getting the message through could get a signal booster to get the message through for confirmation. (as a non member you could not simply relay the message, the protocol would be to not trust the message through an unknown entity.
I think you nailed it perfectly, despite not having a lot to go on. Hope fully there will be an update someday that will further elaborate on it.
I think you might be right but more likely to me undead labs hasn't actually made a decision on what the "story" will be yet. They are probably bouncing things around but wanted to leave some bread crumbs for the gamers, however the bread crumbs they left can be interpreted in many different ways and can lead to many different things. Just like the conflict between red talon and the network. I have seen people speculate that the reason the red talon forces at the mountain pass lost the fight was the explosion set off was a gorilla attack by the network since red talon is a force of highly trained persons, what highly trained person "accidentally" sets off a massive explosion to early? Lots of bread crumbs that 1 day could go somewhere (Civil War, coup against president) or no where and the story in game supports both
Its an empty message, has no meaning. Devs dont even tip us or say anything, its like they want SOD to die and fail. Ive shared tons of feed back ( positive feed back and ideas ) and i get nothing back, got a like and a thanks from them thats about it. "Thats for pointing out we can do BETTER and not stay quiet and make ppl lose interest" i got 3 RT agents that i love on my main community but undeadlabs looks like they dont give a F about SOD.

@@adamkassous7746 Actually its reasonable with the state of the game. Its title is very relatable to its status. The devs are being lazy at this point by not fixing the game at this point. Yes they were rushed into releaaing it early, but they still wouldve released a broken ass game last year. And the story? pretty lazy if you ask me and tons of other players. Kill plague hearts, define community legacy. Thats. It. And it's not that I dont like the game, I love it. I still play the shit out of it, and have like 5 red talons, gonna work my way up to a full base of rt. But the games lacks in what it needs, and the devs are doing too much about it since release. Not even with community feedback.

thats funny you said that, if you actually explored of the beaten path you would have found out that: project osiris is a top secret satellite bunker base and that the presidents plane crashed trying to make it there. this was referenced several times over the years between both sod games, and to this days there still lore journals that we havent seen yet due to the fact that they randomly spawn only in nightmare mode

It’d be pretty cool to see some more of the us army instead of red talon. I can’t ever find and us army soldiers anymore anyways.
Feels like scrapped content. I think it (and other radio background stories) were meant to be threads that turned into content later. I thought it was interesting they took this approach for the main storyline. It took me a few play throughs to get the whole red talon / coal mine refugees / lilly story.
It probably is rushed content, maybe it will be explained in Trumball.

On my game ive heard the radio calls this red talon prisoner manages to escape a red talon prison and she says they r using ppl to dig mines and shit idk if i get tje radio signal ill post it
I don't think your assumption is correct because in the radio call they say exfil is on site witch of course is Short for exfiltration meaning the president is being moved from one location to another
Six months later and I'm still waiting for an actual story the first state of decay was so much better I mean don't get me wrong the second one does have a good base but it has nothing on the first one

I kind of think the Trumbull Valley dlc is focused more on the Network or related to them. Maybe it'll be future content, once we know if there's content coming soon. I am curious about the mysterious broadcasts after the Zed Hunter dlc was released. I wonder if they're hinting at another faction besides Red Talon and the Network. Hopefully we hear something in the next month or so
That would be cool if the Trumbull Valley map continued some lore as opposed to just being a recreation, we'll have to wait and see
I'm not going to say I'm FIRST because it's childish to call FIRST... Joking aside I hope this is part of a future dlc I think we should get to see the red talon and network bases

That’s all shit, any news about a hardcore difficulty, I played this game like 4 times from start to end, I was able to finish it with only one base and three recruits, god damn it, Mario the game is more difficult to play...Do something about that shit
