DIY Paver Patio Installation
In this video, you can see how I make DIY pavers for my patio. And how I saved a lot of money by making DIY pavers.
Just so you know, I'm making DIY pavers for the first time.
- The first step was to make a wooden mold
- The second step is measuring and leveling the terrain
- And the third step is mixing the cement with sand and filling the mold, and then repeat this many times.
I found that the best mix of cement, concrete, and sand is 3 parts sand to one part cement. Water by feeling.
You will see how to lay pavers on the ground of the yard.

And so I make a patio in front of my mobile tiny house build.
To finish this tiny mobile home I need about two more months. And then we have to find another tiny mobile home project.
Stay tuned for more tiny home builds!

I love how real this is. No douchebag music, not highly produced...it's slow and not too much talking! Just when he needs to. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! 🙂
That's only your opinion you sound very -
No douchebag music 😂😂 I totally agree.
pQpa
YES! It’s enough with the douchebag “music” in these videos. This guy knows what’s what!
Three suggestions, 1. Run the timber through a table saw to taper the edges, this would allow the mould to come out clean, a 5 deg angle would be fine. 2. Run a bead of silicon round the tops of your mould to form a rounded finish on the concrete. 3. Oil the mould before use. Good video, thanks.
Thanks for the tips! 👍
To add onto this comment you could use some rounded metal handles on all 4 sides of the mould to help you lift it out, good video.
Just a suggestion: Put a couple of handles on the top of it (maybe 4 of them), so it will ve much more easy to lift that wooden frame. Anyway, thanks for the video, it is a very good idea to share.
Great tip!
Wouldn't handles make it impossible to screed?
Juu 😳😎😳🌄😳❤️❤️
@@lovetoyoutube5412 to the top not the sides.
@@klerobi1 l spray some used oil on the inside of the wood cast each time. It's makes it easier to pull off the wood cast.
To make the frame easier to pull free, you could use an enamel/glossy paint on the wood and give it a quick spray with water after each section so nothing sticks.
Yes, it would be much better
Awesome stuff that will last for years and years. I'm doing this with my driveways so I'll be using 2x4s for framing. Thank you for sharing your project
Thank you for vaching!
loved the knee pad idea with the socks and stuffing and the make shift tee-shirt hat and neck protection from the sun
👍🙂
Great job, Robert! (And good suggestions below from people who also appreciated your hard work.) Additionally… Anyone who takes the few moments necessary to share affection with his cat gets my vote. Good luck to you! FH
Thank you 👍🙂
I love the paver form and the results look great. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
You will get better results if you let the concrete setup a bit longer, and use a curb tool on the edges prior to removing the form. Another helpful tip for the DIYer's, rinse the forms and spray the insides with cheap cooking spray, this will allow the form to slide off easier.
Thanks for the tip! 👍
Mate, this is excellent YouTubing. Very informative content, no music, no bullshit, well filmed and a very clever idea. Well done sir!
Thank you! 👍
True I hate these "modern" RUclipsrs who think they have to feature their headshots and blare loud obnoxious music just to be famous while talking about bullshit ideas and stupid videos.
Well done sir.
@@dontbother6949 OK, I sometimes put music in a video, but rarely
I think he put calming cricket noises in the background. Good idea.
@@klerobi1 Yeah, but your music is of reasonable genres and decibels.
Just brilliant! You can custom make a template to your liking and your particular project area. Fantastic! And adding sand to the cement to make it more pliable is even better. Now, you can propably spray vegetable oil to your template to make it easier to remove.
That's a great idea!
As you go with it, you'll be better. Another idea is after an hour (depending on how fast the concrete you use dries) or so, wash the concrete gently with a hose, it will give you a grain finish. You do great!
Great tip!
I'm very proud to be brasilian, when I saw someone in the other side of the world using a "Votorantin" cimento, made in Brazil, and dooing a awensome job like this!
Este es muy bien! Gracias Hugo!
Thank you, I could watch you work without getting bored amazing.
You take your time with details, absolutely wonderful...I need you for a neighbor, to teach the men and women in my family who wants to learn...I am already looking listening and watching, I hope that we all can take away some of these life given lesson's you are giving us and practice them in the things we want done in our own homes, especially the floors, walls and outdoor pavements....I will be watching and telling others about your youtube page's THANK YOU AGAIN...STAY BLESSED...
Thanks for the visit Iris 🙂👍
You worked very hard on this project. It turned out so nice. Great job sir!
Thank you! Cheers!
Saved so much money and physical labor of moving each one individually!!! Thank you
Wonderful!
Everyone to their own.. you've done brilliantly.. you only realise how good it is once it's done..😎🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👌👌👏👏
Thank you very much! 👍
Great it's exactly what I was thinking of making for my front garden. Thank you for sharing. I also wondered about the mix ratio for the best, now I know. Well done! It will probably take me a lot longer to do(I'm 72) but I will have a go anyway. I do have a cement mixer - a little treat for myself.. ;) so that should help a lot.
Glad it was helpful!
Congrats to you! Makes me want to try too!
Post a picture when your done...:-) All I need is a cement mixer and my strong son to lift the bags, then help dumping it....;-)
TIP:
Rubbing motor oil into the wood of your template will make them easier to remove without damage to the pavers.
Great job!
Thanks for the info!
Fantastic idea. This is what I will use for a part of my backyard. Thanks for this. 👍🏼
Glad it was helpful! 🙂

A very "hands on" video, shows every thing you need to know. Thanx for that one, it inspires me for a pathway in my garden i was looking for a solution for a lomg time (because of various different issues). A good one, more of that., please. Good luck with your channel and best regards from Berlin, Germany

If you haven’t seen how to make a mold, here’s a video ruclips.net/video/CRvSj8Av4do/видео.html
Inspirational. Thanks for showing us how. It looks fantastic.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow I did the same thing 20 years ago with great results, paved two different houses, about 80 square metres in total.
That is awesome!
I have never done this but just from watching the results, what I would suggest is to make your form square, then you can change the orientation 4 times and vary the pattern more as the repeating pattern is a bit obvious in places, other than that, it looks amazing :D
Awesome! Thank you!
Wow thanks for sharing , nice job buddy it looks great! Cheers from 🇨🇦

Glad it was helpful!
This looks great. Consider putting a couple handles at the top of your form to make removal easier as you would be able to lift it straight up and out.great work
Thank you very much 🙂
You cant screed it with handles on top.
Beautiful kalico
It really is!
Great job 👏
Thank you! 😃
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome video! Thanx!
Glad you liked it!
Thank's for this good idea
Welcome 😊
Very cool!
👍🙂
I am going to try this out it’s a great idea but I think adding a couple of handles to help wiggle the framework out will help and I’ll add some fibres to the mix to strengthen it to compensate for the slabs not being vibrated. Maybe you mentioned this but I watched with no sound.
Yes, that's a good idea, thanks for watching 🙂
Thank you for your sharing, I love it and will do the same. :D
Thank you! Cheers!

Great idea
Thank you! 😊
Awesome video
Thanks for the visit
Great idea 🤠👍
Glad you like it
Great idea, one suggestion would be:
The commercial pavers, has actually 2 layer, one is more rough full of coarse broken pebbles can be calcite or even quartz what give them a lot of strength, but this layer does not look so great, so they have a finish layer that is very thin like just 1/4 inch at most, made if fine sand and maybe stamped with a fake stone texture, you should try to add this second layer made with finer aggregates and different cement, maybe a pre mix stucco would be a good beginning.
👍🙂✌
Thanks for letting us know the mix ratio 👍
No problem 👍
Great work!
Thanks for the visit
