Two years ago, I got a huge pay cut at work and had to quit. I didn't even like the job, but I was upset that it happened and I had to go find a new one. I ended up having to go back to school and completely change my career. Last year was grueling, but when I finally got a new certification, I was blessed with a job right after I finished. It's much, _much_ better employment pay-wise and in terms of benefits, it's a much more promising career path in the long term, and it's finally a job that I actually enjoy. I'm so grateful that the Lord "broke my bow" that year. If He hadn't, I may have stayed in that stagnant, miserable job path for years more, never progressing professionally or financially.
We are lucky enough in our modern age to have a living, working Liahona in the scriptures. They do however, like the one operated by Lehi, only work according to the heed and diligence we give.
This is one of my favorite stories.I like how this teaches us that even the most faithful can be discouraged from time to time; but when we turn our hearts back to God and trust in Him, He will fulfill all our needs.
I'm increasingly loving this portrayal of Laman and Lemuel. In the cartoons, they were always hot heads to emphasize their eventual fall. Here they are much more nuanced. They follow their father and respect him at first mostly because of tradition, and slowly and steadily become more unrighteous as they constantly choose to harden their hearts. It's a breath of fresh air
Agreed! It's easy to picture their eventual fall when you've got this image in your head of the prideful characters depicted in the living scriptures cartoons (which are great! don't get me wrong). But seeing them in this light makes it easier to see tendencies towards hardheartedness and lack of faith in ourselves. I mean is it really that far fetched for a man to be angry at everyone (including God) when his pregnant wife is starving? It makes them more real and more instructive for those studying the scriptures. It can be easy to say 'I'll never be like Laman and Lemuel' when you're picturing the angry, murderous cartoon characters. But saying 'I'll never be like Laman and Lemuel' with this depiction in mind carries more weight.
I also enjoy how respectful Laman is to his wife. Even though his descendants fell away from the Lord, the Nephite prophets would point to the Lamanites as an example of family life later in the book! Like you said, I love the nuance!
@@Edwahlq Yeah, and when he said, "Our women have borne children in the wilderness," and they're starving, I thought, "He has a good point. He's right, you can't argue with that." In these videos, Laman and Lemuel's actions are more understandable and you can't blame them for complaining for the hard circumstances their families were living in. They're not as one-dimensional as the scripture cartoons depict them to be, they're good-intentioned, but not always making righteous decisions. Like in the previous episode, it was Laman who told Ishmael and his family that they saw an angel
Nephi’s a stud, He shows what it means to be a true man.... He believed and got the job done by calling upon the Lord when everyone else around him gave up....
I've never realized how hard their journey was especially for women bearing children. They were hungry and exhausted most of the times in those years of journey, but they survived as the Lord protected them and their children. Nephi's faith and obedience is extraordinary. I always feel motivated to emulate his example. My husband and I are always looking forward for Fridays to come because of these Book of Mormon videos. Love it! ❤
One part I used to love is how the Lord blesses them on their journey because of their faith, he makes the women as strong as the men, and makes their food sweet so they won’t have to cook it in the wilderness. The Lord always provides a way when we obey Him :))).

Yes your son is correct. I find it odd that a bow made from steel (possibly hardened steel) Maybe an 8 on the Mohs Scale Of Hardness could break so easily. It must have been very old. He would not be able to fix it without Iron and Carbon Ores. Plus 2000 degrees F flames, etc etc.
My favorite part of this story is the fact that Nephi still had respect for his father Lehi, being the Lord's prophet was the one with the authority. So when he was done making the new bow, he went back to his father to ask the Lord where he should go look for food. Nephi is such an amazing individual who had such unwavering faith beyond anyone else. He becomes a great prophet and leader later as the Book of Mormon continues. I love Nephi's example and look to him often as I try to model myself after him and other amazing men in this wonderful book that is a companion to the Bible in testifying that Jesus is the Christ and the true Son of God also showing that it is the word of God.
Yes, that was a connection our family made as well. Even though Lehi was murmuring with the rest, Nephi respected him as a father and prophet, and turned to him for direction.
I noticed that even though Nephi believed that the Lord would provide for them, he didn’t sit around waiting for food to come. His faith included an understanding that he was an agent to act and not something to be acted upon (2 Ne 2:14). So he did all he could by first making a new bow and then went and asked his father where to go to find food. A powerful lesson about faith.
Loved seeing Laman's humbled heart when Nephi brings back the food. We clearly get that "way to go little brother, I'm proud of you" vibe... Only thing missing was the fist bump...👊
Another absolutely wonderful episode to teach us that as long as we keep our faith the Lord will always be there for us. And that even if things don't look like they're going to turn out as long as we keep our faith in the Lord and listen it will turn out and everything will get better.

Since, I have been reading with the same intent, I have grown tremendously, in the past 12 days or so, AND THEN having these videos? has added more strength to my testimony of Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father's plan and the Holy Ghost. We are so blessed. Someone might have said this before, but when I saw Nephi crafting the bow and arrow (1Ne16:23) in the video I immediately thought about how this experience had to happen to give Nephi insight into his abilities and capabilities to build a ship later on for/with his family. Then, when you read later in verse 29 the scripture reads to the end "And thus we see that by small means the Lord can bring about great things." I thought, YES! Imagine what we can do! when we put the Lord first in our lives. I will keep reading "everyday, everyday, everyday" the Book of Mormon as Elder Johnson counseled.
Sariah says: "If only each day could be as joyful as this." That really gives you some understanding of the fact that they were just like us and didn't WANT to go through all of the difficulties they went through and it adds extra meaning to: "For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so, my firstborn in the wilderness, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility." (Lehi, 2 Nephi 2:11) All of us have our own trials and struggles throughout our journey, but with God's help we can make it through our struggles and all things will work together for our good.
I love watching these videos as much as I love reading the Book of Mormon! I hope they continue on making more ,the whole book! I would watch it all the time as I read and studied each part of this great testament of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
We read both we love both, we love John 3:16, it possibly is one of our most quoted Bible verses. They both testify of Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son, the Savior and our Lord. I invite you to read the Book of Mormon alongside your Bible and youll see they are two witnesses that work together. Not against.
@@davidkitterman5258 (I know this is 2 months old but I'll just say it) The Book of Mormon is not the replacement for the Bible, it even serves as a companion for the Bible.
As I thought of Nephi's great example of faith, humility, creativeness, diligence and hardwork, it has strengthened and inspired me to do better and be better as a disciple of Jesus Christ amids trials and challenges in my personal life. I'm so grateful that the church has made the initiative to make a film about the amazing stories from the Book of Mormon for everyone to watch and learn from the example of righteous people who lived in ancient America as recorded in this volume of scripture that was written and preserved for our blessing in our day.
I'm so greatful for these book of mormons videos,it awakens my lost soul and can't wait for more!❤ and so greatful to meet lovely sister ericka, sister bachamura and sister mammaluna who introduced this to me🙏 and for all the faith, the love and hopes they shows me!.May Our almighty God will always bless us all!!
Great lessons. Nephi didn’t just wait for the Lord to provide, he was actively waiting to help bring it to pass. He also didn’t just have faith the Lord would provide but he had faith in his father to ask the Lord in prayer where he should go. It helped Lehi, and it was something he could’ve very well have done himself instead. Great videos, thank you!
After finding the bountiful land, everyone in lehi family thought it was the promise land but he wasn't. something just click in my mind. Every state in our life; abundance or not, still a wildness or bountiful land of our journey on earth. The really promise land is the eternal life, were we gonna live in the presence of our heaven father and lord Jesus Christ.
Love the Book of Mormon videos. I love how Nephi went out to search and find a way to get food after he broke his bow, and not sit around like Laman and Lemuel and wait for God to give them food. Nephi trusted God and had faith He will provide food. Sometimes in our lives we can’t sit around expecting God to give us what what we need we have to do our part and move around and the Lord will help us
Such a good point to make...because it made me think about the faith Nephi had in his father. I am blessed to have friends like Nephi that love me enough to remind me of my faith in Jesus Christ.
This story reminds me of Alma and his people while under the strong arm of Amulon. Despite their trials the Lord provided a way that their burdens could be lightened and made easy to bare. He didn't bring Lehi and his family food but provided a way that they could obtain it thru their faith. The Lord answers our prayers the exact same way today. Unfortunately many give up before seeing the journey thru to the wonderful end. Very touching story and this video brings it to light in a strong way.
The first episode I felt kind of apprehensive (just like everyone worries about their favorite books being made into movies) because the Book of Mormon has a really special place in my heart. But, the more episodes I watch the more I like them :)
This is so beautiful! It gives a completly new way of percibing the stories of the Book of Mormon. Now I am reading the book of Mormon again and it feels more human, I can imagine all the situations with more clarity.
these videos have really brought the book of mormon so much to life with these real people it is just like Iread and felt the holy ghost testifying the truth of all
This video helps me realize the hard work and diligence of traveling in the wilderness. Nephi was such a strength and example. Lehi was so close to the Lord as to receive revelation that directed him to look upon the ball to know where to find food. What a miracle the Liahona was!
I love this story in the BOM because it illustrates the great faith of Nephi and shows how the Lord allows us to have trials to test us to our very core even when we are living righteously. It also illustrates that prophets are imperfect as even Lehi murmured against the Lord with this trial, but ultimately repented and was blessed. The details of bows and how they can lose their spring are interesting and provide further evidence of BOM authenticity in an ancient setting that Joseph Smith could not have known. The Book of Mormon is true which has been confirmed to me so many times during my life by a witness of the Holy Ghost. These videos are a great blessing to help us gain more insights and understanding off the Gospel. So grateful to be a member of this Church!
I love these videos... they have lifted my soul and brought me closer to my Heavenly Father and His Son Yeshua. I have a greater desire to search the Book of Mormon and my faith is renewed and strengthened which means the world to me as my sons and husband have left the church and have disavowed the Book of Mormon. I look forward to these videos every week. They are such a blessing in my life, especially right now.
I have read from the Book of Mormon almost every day for several years, but something new that I am understanding through watching these scenes is how incredible and valuable each person is. Though the Book of Mormon shares how Laman and Lemuel (spoiler alert) eventually broke away from the faith of their father and let their aggression and hatred turn to murderous intentions, I cannot help but think of how many times they must have shown great faith in God throughout their journey. This scene, in particular, reminds me of how often I treat my life and trials like Sam, Lehi, Laman, Lemuel, Nephi (on a very good day), and the others. I feel like I have walked in each of their shoes at one point or another, and when I see strong emotions portrayed in these videos I often remember some of my own intimate experiences with learning to know and trust God. Thankfully, I feel that the Lord has always been there to help me get back up on my feet and keep going no matter how I first react.
I have read others say that they felt the Holy Ghost while watching these videos. I, too, have felt this. Is it possible for one while viewing these wonderful clips to receive their own testimony, revelations, and answers to heart-felt prayers from the Lord? I think so.
I believe Nephi breaking his bow was important preparation for him to later construct a ship. The way the family reacted, I bet the family had never made bows on their own before. This likely really stretched Nephi and was part of how the Lord was preparing him for what would be required in the future.
I'd never thought of it that way, but I bet you're right. The Lord prepares us in all things, even when it doesn't necessarily make sense to our minds.
Great point!! I was also thinking about the future ship too!!! It also made me think that sometimes we are put in situations that are outside of our comfort zones and we have to figure things out. With the Lord's help, we can do things that may seem impossible. The Lord just knows how well we can stretch each of ourselves if we keep the faith. :)
Yes, I heard somewhere that a bow was more complicated engineering than we would think, and would have been almost as difficult for Nephi to build as the ship. He could not have done it without the Lord's help, so I imagine that was indeed an important preparation. The "practice run" for being directed by God on how to build things for their journey.
I was quite stressed about something this week. Can't seem to find what me and my husband been looking for. I decided to watch this before bed. Then I was reminded that God will provide. I just need to pray and ask whither shall we go to find a place to rent. Then be patient. It's hard when we are newly married and budget are tight. =(
It was an emotional video for me, cause my family learnt alot from this video. The principle of obedience and faith works together. Nephi also uplifts the spirit and the faith of his father Lehi even though he was a prophet, which simply means any members of a family can be the one to lift the spirit and faith of others when they are down. May God bless his servant the prophet.
THANK YOU to ALL who had a part in the making of these very special video representations from the holy words of the Lord through His ancient prophets for us NOW in 2019 for our days! I LOVE the music, the directing, editing, costumes, make up the landscape+ the acting and all the thoughts and prayers that are going on now and in the past to bring these pictures, driven especially by the music coupled so beautifully and deeply into our minds and hearts through the holy words of this VERY SPECIAL and SACRED BOOK of scripture. The Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ!
I cried when Laman and even Lehi were murmuring against the Lord, but Nephi was still very faithful unto the Lord and he had shown his faith and testimony that God doesn't abandon us and He will provide our needs. I have learned from this that as the member, we shouldn't look unto the members of the Church because they're not perfect like us, and if we just focus on what we are doing especially to God because we know that He will provide our needs as long as we show our love to Him and accept all the trials that we may face and we could learn from that. And always remember that 'Ether 12:6 " A witness comes after the trial of faith" ' ❣
What a great video! This really helps us understand several aspects of this incident and makes us realize how blessed we are and how often we complained when we have so much. I am also writing a book about “The Message of the Liahona” that reveals another important thing regarding this marvelous device and it’s purpose in our lives. This story is given for us, not just Lehi and his family. This tool has great meaning for us!
Nephi was a leader and a Teacher among His brothers. When his descendants stopped being teachers of the Word of God and the True Concepts of what being a Child of God, and instead they were taught the wrong things and got influenced by other societies, that’s when their civilization crumbled. The Book of Mormon is Wonderful and just as the Bible with old and New Testament, gives examples and testimony that the Way of Lord is True. Wonderful videos!!😊😎😇
Eventhough we are experiencing too much difficulties, our Savior is always always always there to help us. ♥️♥️♥️ We can survive. Remain calm and faithful to our God. He loves me and He loves you. 😊
Nephi's faith was great. But I so admire his father, Lehi, for carrying such a heavy responsibility as a prophet, a visionary, and as patriarch of his family. Anyone judging him for having a momentary lapse of faith need to think about the burden he carried on his shoulders leading his family.
A nice insight I felt when I watched this today: the Book of Mormon for us is like the Liahona to Lehi's family--the power and direction from its writings only comes from "the faith and diligence and heed which we give unto them."
Keaton Lee This is more like a show than a movie though, since it’ll be much, much, much longer. Since it is on youtube, if the church doesn’t compile them even longer, I am sure someone will afterwards.
Non members have been doing with the New Testament videos. A 2 hour long "movie" of Christ last 24 hr. Very possible to do but need time to assemble the whole piece together.
Verry inspirable, such a good thing, that lord can provide anything through your Faith, and that is the good thing we should do nephi is a faithful man.., and such a good example to us , to our savior Lord 😊Jesus Christ 💗
Nephi persevered. He has always been an example of a wise steward of the Lord and blessings pour upon Him and His family. I love this episode, it inspires us to always seek Him in every detail of our lives.
These movies are a special gem for those who can't read but still hunger and thirsting after scriptural insight, i like the part where nephew frankly forgave his brothers after they tied him up, we need more of this in out lives, harboring resentfulness can canker our lives
Im not really a believer of this religion (or any religion if im honest) so i dont really watch these episodes for the message. What keeps bringing me back is the production value. Absolutely beautiful. Keep it going guys!
It's beautiful and is true. 44 For behold, it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land.

Nephi's faith and diligence is very admirable. Great video :) I can't wait for the next one ❤️
I need to follow the example of nephi...I love the book of mormón!
I love watching these videos as much as I love reading the Book of Mormon! I hope they continue on making more ,the whole book! I would watch it all the time as I read and studied each part of this great testament of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
I hope you read the bible and not the book of mormon please read John 3:16
We read both we love both, we love John 3:16, it possibly is one of our most quoted Bible verses.
They both testify of Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son, the Savior and our Lord.
I invite you to read the Book of Mormon alongside your Bible and youll see they are two witnesses that work together. Not against.
@@davidkitterman5258 (I know this is 2 months old but I'll just say it) The Book of Mormon is not the replacement for the Bible, it even serves as a companion for the Bible.
I love the acting, the music it makes me feel the spirit. 😇
Hi! I like the video but I surely like you too
As I thought of Nephi's great example of faith, humility, creativeness, diligence and hardwork, it has strengthened and inspired me to do better and be better as a disciple of Jesus Christ amids trials and challenges in my personal life.
I look forward to each Friday to watch these videos. They are a great way to experience the Book of Mormon stories.
I love how Nephi only took 1 arrow with him when he went hunting the second time - he trusted the Lord to help him not miss
Sometimes in our lives we can’t sit around expecting God to give us what what we need we have to do our part and move around and the Lord will help us
The spirit and family dynamics were fantastically on display in one scene, "Father, wither shall I go for food?"
Such a good point to make...because it made me think about the faith Nephi had in his father. I am blessed to have friends like Nephi that love me enough to remind me of my faith in Jesus Christ.
I love all of these videos, but this one is my favorite. So much love and emotion on the faces of the actors. I had to watch it 2 times in a row.
Because of the faith of Nephi he lifted up his father to repent and ask God to give his strength to survive for his family ❣️
Ahhh! I can’t believe I have to wait another week!
These videos only strengthen my Testimony of the Truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. Thank you.
Thank you for tuning in!
This is so beautiful! It gives a completly new way of percibing the stories of the Book of Mormon. Now I am reading the book of Mormon again and it feels more human, I can imagine all the situations with more clarity.
these videos have really brought the book of mormon so much to life with these real people it is just like Iread and felt the holy ghost testifying the truth of all
What a great episode - so many lessons to be learned from this story!
The end was particularly moving. Great job!
This video helps me realize the hard work and diligence of traveling in the wilderness. Nephi was such a strength and example. Lehi was so close to the Lord as to receive revelation that directed him to look upon the ball to know where to find food. What a miracle the Liahona was!
Another classic story from the Book of Mormon that almost all members are very familiar with and learned from :) been waiting for this the whole week
What a fantastic reminder of what the power of faith in the Lord can do for all of us! Especially went we are hungry for Him!
Such a blessing to have these videos.
It’s a blessing they made them before covid hit
Faith what a wonderful tremendous tool a gift of God thank you for the great video
Faithful to our Lord no matter what God will provide.
I love the stories in the Book of Mormon!
A very nice video. High quality production.
I really appreciate seeing the women's stories expounded, as well as seeing possible whys behind the men's actions. Loving this series.
Watched again today, felt the HS strong when Lehi found the director/ compass / Liahona outside his tent.
Hallelujah!
Nephi has been always my hero. He has a special place in my heart. ❤️ I love him.
I'm truly grateful for your hard work and, look forward to seeing a new video every Friday. It's so exciting! It brings the scriptures to life.
You know, I'm looking forward to these videos more each week.
love how the lord guides nephie in interesting ways. my kids love watching them on sunday.
I have read others say that they felt the Holy Ghost while watching these videos. I, too, have felt this. Is it possible for one while viewing these wonderful clips to receive their own testimony, revelations, and answers to heart-felt prayers from the Lord? I think so.
I don't see a reason as to why it shouldn't be possible!!!
I am glad that we now have these videos. I have often taught my son in the truthfulness of the priesthood key holders, faith and sincerity of prayer.
ALLAHU AKBAR, everyone knows it Allahu akbar. ERDOGAN WIN

I'd love to see the Liahona in person! Thankful for the Book of Mormon!
Inspiring indeed. I enjoy these videos abundantly. Great Faith brings great life.
Thank you for these videos. It’s just the perfect way for me to feel the spirit and the love for our lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
Thank you for the fine work and faith promoting media.
WOWWW!!!! THAT WAS A BEAUTIFUL FILM, AND WAS TOLD AND SHOWN BEAUTIFULLY, THAT WAS A WORK OF ART. These book of mormon videos are sooo Good!
The camping looks awesome. Pretty cool shelters. Hunting....wow. My big brother would have taught us all how to hunt. So realistic
This is an amazing event. Having faith when hungry is something only someone that has been foreordained for the purpose will display.
Now this is how I saw Nephi. The look on his face when he went to go make a bow was pretty awesome
Thanks for your thoughts, Jonathan.
@@jmcglynn5273 where have you read that brother? From the other resources? Not on the Divine Resources?
What a great video! This really helps us understand several aspects of this incident and makes us realize how blessed we are and how often we complained when we have so much.
I am also writing a book about “The Message of the Liahona” that reveals another important thing regarding this marvelous device and it’s purpose in our lives. This story is given for us, not just Lehi and his family. This tool has great meaning for us!

The pointers (arrows) on the Liahona and Nephi's skilled use of his arrows preserved Lehi's family in the wilderness- small and simple symbolism
I love watching book of mormon stories i understand it more
the influence of the book Mormon when you study it daily it can lift you up and you can gain much knowledge of it .
Thank you
This is by far my favorite Book of Mormon video.
Eventhough we are experiencing too much difficulties, our Savior is always always always there to help us. ♥️♥️♥️
We can survive. Remain calm and faithful to our God. He loves me and He loves you. 😊
I learn more about this video my faith is become more stronger thank you
Nephi's faith was great.
I'd like to see these videos compiled into one movie. Like Lord of the Rings, but you know, this.
Keaton Lee This is more like a show than a movie though, since it’ll be much, much, much longer. Since it is on youtube, if the church doesn’t compile them even longer, I am sure someone will afterwards.
A super-cut would be amazing. It would at least be 3 hours long, or more!
I read that it will be more focused on the doctrine than the wars
Extended edition!.... For example: the part where they skipped the description of what the second dial does on the Liahona.
Non members have been doing with the New Testament videos. A 2 hour long "movie" of Christ last 24 hr. Very possible to do but need time to assemble the whole piece together.
Great videos, great actors, great job ! I watch one every day waiting for the next !
I loved this story. I couldn't remember the bow, so I am so happy to watch it and remember. How can we wait until next sabbath day.
Wow..great orchestral music...nice work composers....and wonderful videos
Wonderful reminders of faith
These movies are a special gem for those who can't read but still hunger and thirsting after scriptural insight, i like the part where nephew frankly forgave his brothers after they tied him up, we need more of this in out lives, harboring resentfulness can canker our lives
Tam Stubbs hhl
Im not really a believer of this religion (or any religion if im honest) so i dont really watch these episodes for the message. What keeps bringing me back is the production value. Absolutely beautiful. Keep it going guys!
It's beautiful and is true.
44 For behold, it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land.
Love it! I was inspired again! Thank you! ❤
