    Another very good vlog, guys, on Rayong.
    The place looks well nice and quite and as you said not that many Farangs only Thai's. So you had a brush with the traffic police made him 500 bahts richer and then the dogs giving you both a hard time.
    Glad you got back home without any problem with the 4 legged friends.😂😂

      It was an adventure for sure. But we got out of it pretty lightly all things considered!
      We wish we could play with every dog! Unfortunately not all want to play with us!

    Some might think the rock formations are called jetties but they're actually a groyne (sounds like groin) which protects against sediment erosion. A jetty is a protection to a ship channel. The more you know...

    • @franclyspeaking
      @franclyspeaking  8 месяцев назад +2

      They were some pretty neat groyne’s!
      Good info there, thank you 😊

      Need to look into best options of getting licenced here. Will be allllll good 😊

    Not surprised you were stopped - always important to have spare money. My understanding is that if you have a motorbike license and car license in Australia this information is added to your international license and you would have been fine. In saying that, it is recommended that if you are in Thailand for three months or longer, that you should get a Thai driving license which really isn't too difficult and only B140. The bungalow is cool. I use to stay is one similar in Koh Samui - right on the beach no A/C, TV or fridge - I think I paid Aus$10 per night - It was like going camping!

    • @Nathan-cd6gu
      @Nathan-cd6gu 8 месяцев назад +2

      Yes that is correct but they said all they had was a car license & not a aus motcycle license also

    • @franclyspeaking
      @franclyspeaking  8 месяцев назад +1

      Lucky we had the 500 and didn’t have to use the 1000 😂
      Have the drivers licence for cars, not for motorbikes, but my understanding of the licences required to ride certain powered bikes was skewed coming from AUS. Live and you learn though!
      Definitely keen on getting a thai licence when we are back more long term.
      Love the individual bungalows. Would love to stay on one in the beach, saw it in the movie ‘the beach’ and looked like a great way to spend a few days!
      Thanks for the comment 😊

      @@franclyspeaking hey buddy. If you are ever over again make sure your licence is valid for bikes, my licence was the same as yours.
      The main part is I had a bad accident on a bike in Phuket, some woman crashed into me, I nearly died, fairly badly injured. Long story short my travel insurance wouldn't cough up a penny because my permit licence didn't include bikes even though my Irish licence did.
      Plus the cops just ripped you off for 500 baht on the street? That went in their pocket.

      For sure! Ones in Pattaya and Jomtien have been pretty good. Able to make friends and such. But these ones which encounter less strangers can be pretty dodgy! Lucky I (Franc) can run faster than Sarah 😂😂

    Be careful with the dogs, Rabies is rampant in Thailand. I'm a dog lover myself, but I've had random dogs snap at me on my many trips to Thailand with my Thai wife.

      I wish we could all be friends, but there definitely are some dodgy dogs out there. Just gotta be vigilant 🙏

    it is crazy with so many stray dogs in Thailand and they have no natural preditors to control their population.

    • @franclyspeaking
      @franclyspeaking  8 месяцев назад

      For real! Quite a few get taken care of but some aren’t so nice. Places like The man that rescues dogs are doing good work. Going out to spay and neuter stray dogs.
      Hopefully in the future it will become more under control. Until then, stay safe, keep watch and use common sense! 😊🙏

    Yeah, duh. A car license does not cover you for motocy.
    Get pulled over in Oz and tell me how you go passing off your car license as a motorcycle license?
    Your insurance will not cover you for motocy.

    • @franclyspeaking

      In QLD Aus, you can ride a scooter (technically what we were riding) on a car license.
      But now we know for future reference if we were to hire one again, it’s one of those lessons in Thailand we learned the hard way & that’s absolutely ok 😊
