    I don’t like jerky..never have. But I LOVED this deer jerky. I was pleasantly surprised and snacked on it legitimately every day. I can’t wait to make more!

    Yesterday I made my first batch which is delicious but if you're a fan of spice and like some heat, add 2tsp of red pepper and 2tsp of Cheyenne

    How many pounds of meat is this recipe good for? I used a little over 5, it turned out good I feel like I’m going to double it next time to make the taste a little stronger. Thanks!

      Great question and I agree with you, I'd say this is good for up to 3 lbs or so. I'd definitely double it for 5 lbs!

      I do mine at 175, which is the lowest my oven will go. Anywhere close to that should be good.

    Baking or on broil at 175 for 3 hrs?

    • @mountainstandardoutdoors8673
      @mountainstandardoutdoors8673  Год назад +1

      I just do bake so it's nice and slow with low heat. I think the broil on my oven is too hot

      @@mountainstandardoutdoors8673 so you have the foil on the bottom as a drip pan on top of hot burner?

    • @mountainstandardoutdoors8673
      @mountainstandardoutdoors8673  Год назад +2

      There's no burner at the bottom of my oven. You could also put the foil on a lower rack if you have two racks

    use metal shish kabob skewers instead of toothpicks.

    • @mountainstandardoutdoors8673

      Good idea!

    • @marshalllee2509
      @marshalllee2509 3 месяца назад

      Yeah, I use bamboo skewers. You can start sliding them down leaving space between them, and all you Gotta do is set them down between the racks. It’s much easier than messing with so many toothpicks. But if you have all different size pieces, that aren’t gonna dry the same time then it’s easier to use toothpaste so you can remove the ones that are done first instead of sliding them off of a skewer

    • @mountainstandardoutdoors8673
      @mountainstandardoutdoors8673  3 месяца назад

      @marshalllee2509 definitely like that idea! Toothpicks is a bit of a headache for sure
